Yugioh has a simmilar thing with deck sizes. Back in thr day their was no deck limit. The limit was if u can shuffle it. So some gigachafs made this homemade tower containing every single 4 copies of every card in the game. Making it like 5 6000 cards or something stupid. He won a couple of games because players refused to play against it. But when someone finally decided to play him they timed out because it took ages to shuffle the deck.
@mr.voidroy6869 its 3 copies of a card and i believe it was slightly over 4000 cards for the deck his friends had to help him shuffle every time he needed to
@jacobturner6266 Even if he lost the important part is that it took like an hour to play out the set. Each game was over 10 minutes, no one wants to play that out
Nobody will believe me but in Smash Bros Brawl online with a full free-for-all lobby of randos, I (playing as Samus) and another person (Playing as Zelda) had a two hour long sudden death on Temple. I stayed alive by just constantly ledge grabbing the upper rightmost ledge, and the Zelda survived by staying in that tunnel right at the center of the stage. The Zelda got hit by a few bombs but somehow never flew far enough to get KO'd, and she made her way back to the center. The game finally ended when a bomb dropped just a little too close to the ledge I was hanging onto, immediately KO'ing me. To this day I'm still amazed that nobody disconnected and ended the game instantly, the game didn't crash or the server didn't lose anybody's connection, etc.

Not the players just choosing to play in ways that entertain others. As for the rule you suggested, the issue becomes needing people to watch over the matches. Because you can't just rely on the participants or random viewers due to lying and potential biases. You'd need tournament staff to watch. And not all tournaments have that kind of manpower.
Somehow I never knew about this game, nor did I know it was so famous that Toby Fox referenced it.
Best christmas present!
Hope you had a really good one GRSmash
as a smash 64 player ive been waiting for this video for so long
Bro i thought this channel was dead, hlad you are back
>stage hazards are bad
>two players didnt move for minutes because they were plating safe
> once one player died he had to play more agressivelly because it broke the stalemate
and that is why i like items and stage hazards, you need to get ahead fast to counter the random elements
15:22 the man responsible for the shot clock in the NBA was named George Mikan. He was around 7 ft tall, and had the athleticism to match.
Very good video. The only thing I'd note is that the uploader of the video who went to Peru also Herbert Von Karajan or Karajan for short (also known as Dajjal/Isai is Dead) was a pretty prolific 64 uploader. He's also known for making the first keyboard to PC adapter as there was a lot of 64 players who played on keyboard due to emulator play (such as me who switched over to Hori ages ago.)
This has the enegy of that one yugioh player who advocated for deck limits, and when it didnt happen he brought a deck with 2000 cards with him to a torunament.
I knew Gerson Boom (undertale character) got his name from a Smash matchup, but didn't know it was specifically this one. Neat.
When warnings don't work, make them feel like the surprised Pikachu face by demonstrating the truth.
Excellent video GR!
I was around during the early days of your channel, my name back then was TheNilocV. I think I'm listed in the credits of one of your early vids. I always looked forward to watching your comps in high school and shared them with all my friends that I could get to watch them lol.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Actually the longest match was me unlocking mewtwo in melee
Deep cut. We all watched the youtube guides. Waking up in the morning like Santa left a Christmas present in the disc.
Welcome back. Love the Monkey Ball music.
A GRsmash video on Christmas? Yes please
