I know I commented before, I also want to point out that I always viewed Crabominable as a story of failure. Crabrawler was a rookie boxer, but he (Or they, whatever) failed to take off and now he's is slow and fat, lives in caves like a yeti and is getting old, as evidenced by the white hair.
you know what? that's a super interesting way to go about it! from dex entries, it's evident that its just crabrawler who got lost in snowy mountains who adapted to the cold by growing fur.
I viewed it as that as well. But you can't do that in a Pokemon game! Like, I trained and nurtured a feisty little Crabrawler throughout the game and got rewarded with a "failure" evolution? That's such bs.
This video was amazing! I love how the art style and production value are getting better and better for every video (sound volume consistency needs a bit of work though lol. Too loud in some places, too quiet in others.) Crabruiser's design looks absolutely fabulous and I want a plush doll of him. I also like how you named your Rowlet Natchirp.
If someone really is getting upset that you called a pokemon a "he" and not a "they", is their opinion even valid? 2 year later edit: this comment is cringe as fuck, call pokemon whatever the hell you want
i mean its a valid concern-- if they have associate Crabrawler with female pronouns, they are entitled to that sentiment. i should be calling Crabrawler they, but as i associate crabrawler with male pronouns, i call them he. Same thing with the Hollow Knight Knight
I think that everyone refer to pokemon differently. People call Gardevoir her because it looks feminine, some people call it they or it because they don't wanna assume gender. I think you can refer to Pokemon anyway you want. (Btw, the Pokedex refers to all Pokemon as it, even if it's only one gender, they refer to them as it.)
Your best video by far, just the animations, backgrounds, editing, character design, and audio probally one of the best videos I've ever seen. Good luck with your channel/and or possible career. Don't give up.
Maybe Crabominable has a gorilla's stomach because he is based not only on the Yeti Crab but also a regular Yeti aka "ABOMINABLE" Snowman, since Yetis are depicted as similar to gorillas and having white fur... Also, didn't expect you to be a TyranitarTube fan. :D
I actually really liked the ultra games, especially better than sword and shield. I felt they had some cool new ideas that were fresh before sword and shield came out. Team skull was funny and cool and it had a good story. I pokemon selection was really good and i liked the new characters like guzma and gladion. The ghost town and the hideouts were cool and the champion thing where you fight the professor was nice. I chose incineroar and really liked him. The new pokemon were really good for the most part but yeah, i dont like crabrawlers final evolution either
I'd be really down to use Crabruiser because I was a big fan of Crabrawler's boxing motif but felt like it was held back by not evolving with some poor stats. Then later figured out Crabominable exists and honestly the take you have to make them a split evolution is really cool. It adds a feeling of rarity to Crabominable and more charm to it. Feels like it got more forced to adapt to the climate than being the real natural progression with the potential of having people feel concern for this Pokémon or creating fun stories around this.
Sincerely, I must say crabominable is sure a monster when we talk about physical attacking, it's a perfect thing for knocking out bulky guys like snorlax and dragon types; I liked a lot the idea of it being like a yeti monster, but i think game freak should have given more attention to it, specially, (in my opinion) making it stronger with base stat total about of 500 ~ 540, and distributing better the stats, mainly with speed and reducing some HP, improving it's defenses. We get it extremely late in a gamethrough and I consider these some advantages are a nice way to reward for such effort bringing along a crabrawler all the journey if you want to use it in your team
There's nothing wrong with Crabominable - not every Pokemon HAS to look cute of cool. Goofy Pokemon are absolutely necessary. Crabominable is an amalgamation of a bunch of concepts. It's a literal Yeti Crab, but also has themes of a hermit and boxer. The Abs and Pectoral-looking parts are clearly supposed to be, like Crabrawler, it's body balled up, but effectively look like more apeish torso features to spin the yeti moteif. It slams its big claws into the snow leaving what looks like big foot footprints for that Yeti theme too. Yet its claws are also reminiscent of boxer mitts, which it use sto train Crabrawler. Crabrawler are known to fight one another and consistently move to the highest place they can, which explains why it evolves at the highest point in the region on the mountain. Crabominable is a Crabrawler who reached the top, and now with no where else to go (because it literally could not get any higher) it trains other Crabrawler who seek it out. This thing is a Master Roshi. Its supposed to look silly and unassuming, yet it was the champion of its time. At the very least I admire how you didn't try to outright erase and replace it with your idea, but I like how Crabominable tells a story. Crabruiser, in all honesty to me looks like a bigger Crabrawler. But I suppose that's a fine idea for multiple evolutions, to appeal to different people's tastes with a similar evolution and a diverse one.
i guess the gorilla like belly is a reference to yetis themselves being just big ice monkeys but it does give the impression of that big tough guy that's actually really stupid, i still like it but the way of getting it is just stupid, by the time you're there you probably got rid of your crabrawler for the lack of an evolution. Now talking about your design, i like the idea of a better trained crabrawler but i think it came out a tad too pirate like, maybe being just shirtless would look better looking as if he's ready to fight someone. Thanks to whoever took their time to read this, have a nice day
If we're gonna do that, might as well just make Crabruiser evolve into Crabominable. And use that as an excuse to make Crabominable look better and have better stats. Like let's now make Crabominable a bit taller and leaner, give it a more put-together build, replace the confused look with a haughty grin etc. Give it better stats all around: make it faster, bulkier, and a bit stronger (I'd make its attack 145 to allow it to be a good wallbreaker). Its Pokedex entry can now say that as a Crabruiser, it got bored of fighting Pokemon its own size on the beaches, and wanted to ascend higher. Now, at the top of the mountain, it loves taking on gigantic Ice types like Mamoswine and Avalugg. Edit: Or you could go the other way and make it a wise old man, kind of like Kahuna Hala.
Love this design. Since you asked what I might change about Crabruiser, I'd say get rid of the sleeveless jacket. I think it's a bit overdesigned personally and if you're going for a boxer motif, it shouldn't have a shirt.
thats a fair point-- i thought it added visual diversity to the design, seeing as boxers come to the ring in jackets/hoodies, i thought it was an interesting idea. I also referenced Balrog from Street Fighter
I think my favorite thing about Crabruiser is that you went all-in on the black eye. That's just genius and feels like a very natural progression of the story behind this scrappy Pokemon.
Okay yeah why didn't we find more mons in berry piles? Honest I don't hate it evo I like the goofy design and the new split evo... That said I agree with Combee like can you give it a evo please? Like it could be a defensive worker for both genders. Anyway I liked this video.
I like the idea of male Combees evolving to a large hexagonal form, (maybe they could be stacked upon each other like a beehive's hexagons) And working as a meat shield to protect their home.
As a Crabominable enthusiast, I find the appeal to be in how ugly it is. Conceptually, I think it should be ugly. It’s a giant crab yeti monster that lives in the mountains. It’s based on the abominable snow man, a horrifying ape monster that lives in the mountains and eats people. Admittedly, I would agree that Crabominable does sort of defeat the appeal of crabrawler, that being a scrappy, cocky, dude bro boxer. I think it would have helped to have a middle stage where it peaks in its career, before becoming a fat old and ugly was up that spends its days sulking alone in the mountains. I think then it would make the transition easier to swallow given the whole story, which the line is already trying to tell.
I feel like Crabominable could have worked if they took the idea of Crabrawler evolving based on its current location and spread it to other parts of the Alola region. Such as a fire-fighting crab for evolving near/on Akala’s volcano or a grass-fighting for the jungle.
thank you so much! if you liked this one, might i suggest it's sequel, "Garbodor's Wasted Potential"? i also have another one coming in the distant future about Coalossal if youre interested in that
Here’s what I love about the split evolution as a fix: it provides a sense of mystique regarding Crabominable. Say a player makes it completely through the game without seeing one, and then they fight Hala in the Elite 4, seeing this Pokémon. Yeah, sure, it’s ugly, but now it begs the question of where it even came from or how you get it. Kinda like Spiritomb on Cynthia’s team, just without the great design.
i can see how that can be perceived haha-- i really dont want to be just 'alax 2', so im trying to distance myself from that style-wise, but hey, a comparison can still be made
@@toxiquid when i made the comment i tried to phrase it in a way that didn't make it seem like alax 2 but i guess it came out that way- i didn't mean it like that though! i just thought that some things reminded me of it. still cool
Crabrawler could have had a split path, but Offensive and Defensive. Crabruiser is a good offense for crabrawer, so let me give him a defensive variant. I don't like Crabominable, no no no, I'm gonna give him an Underdog variant to your Bully crab character. This still fits your adaptation situation, but in a more human sense. If your Crabrawler has a Positive win/lose ratio and gets to level 30, it evolves to Crabruiser, but if its a doodoo baby dumb baby bad crab, it'll evolve to mine. I would also add the dark type to yours just cause. So obviously Crabrawler is based on a Coconut Crab. And you know what Coconuts are? They look like hairy ba- they are hard and have a tough chell, just like crabs. So, Crabconocky (Crab, Coconut, Knock-Out, Rocky). I'd Make them grass, but that's boring, so I'm gonna make them part Rock (or steel, not the best against the Fighting type either way, but thats kinda the point.). Like Rocky, eh eh, the guy who keeps getting beat up, but gets back up again, so he may be lacking in full off offense, but he sure has willpower of steel. This Crab will be more rounded and slower than your slim greaser type, but is seen as a sweet heart in the most part. Its basically Crabominable, but replace the stupid and bad defense with every Dad who is the main character of an action thriller where theyre kid gets kidnapped. It would have the patterns that look like a brown coat with the fur at the collar so it doesn't lose that yeti crab inspiration and looks like a coconut, maybe the buttons could have the coconut bowling ball look thing. It's fists wouldn't be as big, but still pretty big compared to most small pokemon. Its colors would look warmer than Crabrawler just to give contrast. This Crab has used its surroundings to its advantage covering itself with rocks (or scraps of dull metal) to hide from its predators to get the jump on them when they lose sight of them, sticking to the Crabrawler hiding in the fruits. This crab would be more of a "Let me wear down your foes until they get tired" instead of "Imma beat the pulp outta them". Basically being a mix of 2 classic Stallone characters, the obvious Rocky, and a bit of Rambo thrown in. 2 of the most iconic underdogs in movie history. Its design would more-so be reminiscent of Scruffy out of it dads in movies, and it would have the new ability "Underdog" where the lower its HP is its evasion raises heavily, and its attack raises too. It has 3 stages, Half Health, Quarter Health, and 16th Health, Boosting both stages by 1 each time they reach these points, however as a balance, their defense and speed are lowered by 1 as well. Basically how most Underdog's are portrayed in movies, the more they get hit the more they get powerful, but they also know they only can get hit so much before losing so they act more on dodging and chipping away. Itd have the signature move of "Out-Box" where it always goes second. A relatiation attack that does the 1.5x damage of a move if that move misses, it may also cause confusion. But if the first move doesnt miss, its just a pretty wimpy low power move. So high risk, High reward. Pokédex entrie: Crabconocky are gentle giants, often taking in smaller weaker Pokémon to protect them from Crabruisers in the area. While weaker than their counterpart, Crabruiser, they often win their battles agaisnt them through sheer skill and brains in battle. Crabconocky are said to once be Crabrawlers that weren't the best fighters and were bullied by tougher Crabrawlers and Crabruisers. So they honed in on their defensive skills and learning to out-wit rather than pure power.
I love this idea honestly, if you want to go more into the Rocky thing you could have an ability called “Tiger’s Eye” (referencing Eye of the Tiger) that raises stats drastically when hit or something
Great vid! I know this was aimed mostly at the aesthetic side of things, but Crabrawler is also pretty weak stat-wise for how late in the game you evolve him. I wish they bumped his stats just a little more so it didn't feel like you were dragging him around at the end of the game.
Now to be clear I like what you came up with, it is a more thematically sound evo. For Crabrawler. But I personally like Crabominible, it's one of those weird designs that just make me laugh, and yeah it is slow but it became one of my teams heaviest hitters. I do think it should've been its own evolutionary line, cause I think most of the hate comes from it being not what people expected a boxing crab to evolve into. And yeah while it may not fit the yeti crab conceptionaly or regionally, Pokemon have others like Crabominible and people don't mind. Also Pokemon are not suppose to be 1-on-1 with their actual animal base inspiration, do yeah a gorilla yeti crab that looks like a goofball sounds fun to me. It's a goofy pokemon, and that's why I like it.
Crabrawler is honestly overhated, he's noodle arms and hair style, sure they are really weird but crabominable looks pretty funny, he has small little dot eyes a goofy and funi looking expression and hes legs look like spider legs! I personally think people hate him a bit too much, still why those a purple crab that likes eating unattended exeggcutes and lives in beaches ONLY evolve into a yelling wooly crab with spaghetti arms?
See that’s your problem you go based on reactionary impressions If you aren’t feeling the design you decide it sucks in the first five seconds of looking at it Maybe if they sit down with the design you get used to it you get to know it you get accustomed and more comfortable around it you would come around to it Don’t be afraid to let it grow on them if you don’t like it at first That’s what I did when I first saw greninja in a leak It was in its hunched over pose and it wasn’t at all what I wanted or pictured But I stuck with froakie anyway and I grew to absolutely loving greninja People need to Stop dismissing starters or any Pokémon just because they seem like bad designs at first They aren’t bad designs they are just so different than what they are used to and what you expected you just need time to let them grow on you It’s literally an allegory for preserving nature The franchise is about being kind to and respecting nature Them hating on Pokémon and their designs literally goes against the themes and intent of the franchise Every design has its own unique charm and that’s what makes pokemon so diverse and special everything appeals to someone Didn’t mean for this to come off as negative or toxic sorry if it did wasn’t my intention I just want the fans to apply the franchise’s messages about friendship to their opinions A fan should practice the positive messages the franchise preaches to prove that they genuinely care about the franchise and this applies to anything and anyone not just pokemon As the og theme said Pokémon is about Oh your my best friend in a world we must defend I will travel across the land searching far and wide each pokemon to understand the power that’s inside Our hearts so true our courage will pull us through you teach me and I teach you” They are all one of a kind and genius unique designs With extremely in depth lore and backstory

Crabominable gets way too overheated, I mean it's an abomination and I like those types of pokemon AKA humanoid pokemon, but in needs to lose the bowl cut and teeth
You guys think too cold and cynically about Pokémon in terms of stats There are no bad Pokémon only bad trainers who don’t know how to use the potential properly Every Pokémon has potential Pokémon is about Oh your my best friend in a world we must defend I will travel across the land searching far and wide each pokemon to understand the power that’s inside Our hearts so true our courage will pull us through you teach me and I teach you” I raise pokemon the ash way Every Pokémon has potential and any Pokémon can be good with enough compassion kindness trust and determination Y’all have been brainwashed by smogon rules and tiers so much Y’all forgot pokemon are friends first Did you guys learn nothing about his rivalry with Paul and chimchar’s arc Don’t be a Paul. the new video type is clean as hell, awesome stuff! the background reminds me of an alax video, which is a good thing
i can see how that can be perceived haha-- i really dont want to be just 'alax 2', so im trying to distance myself from that style-wise, but hey, a comparison can still be made
@@toxiquid when i made the comment i tried to phrase it in a way that didn't make it seem like alax 2 but i guess it came out that way- i didn't mean it like that though! i just thought that some things reminded me of it. still cool
I love crabominable and I get upset when people hate him even though he is amazing
He is also based off the yeti crab
Which is the other reason I love it
Yo honestly, they both could've been seperate evos both for crabbrawler. It would've been pretty cool to see that
Horsehair crab?? Incorrect it’s the yeti crab actually
Pokédex entrie:
Crabconocky are gentle giants, often taking in smaller weaker Pokémon to protect them from Crabruisers in the area.
Whit the correc moves, objects and crew this is a very good pokemon
Excuse me? EVERYONE LIKES DAN HIBIKI
Ngl they should've gone for the Mr1upz idea and just made him a british pub local.
Crabruiser is objectively better than any fighting type ever designed by gamefreak and I'm heartbroken at what should have been.
Everyone loves Dan Hibiki, and Crabominable is the one that looks like Birdy, what are you talking about
Wholesome vibes with a darker story
Very unique game
Crabrawler should get boosted stats and have a pre evolution instead because its design is too great
I loved my crabominable his design and concept is unique and he carried my team
I’m tired of the slander
Honestly, I really like Crabominable and his design. Your design for Crabruiser was still great though.
See that’s your problem you go based on reactionary impressions
If you aren’t feeling the design you decide it sucks in the first five seconds of looking at it
Maybe if they sit down with the design you get used to it you get to know it you get accustomed and more comfortable around it you would come around to it
Don’t be afraid to let it grow on them if you don’t like it at first
That’s what I did when I first saw greninja in a leak
It was in its hunched over pose and it wasn’t at all what I wanted or pictured
But I stuck with froakie anyway and I grew to absolutely loving greninja
People need to Stop dismissing starters or any Pokémon just because they seem like bad designs at first
They aren’t bad designs they are just so different than what they are used to and what you expected you just need time to let them grow on you
It’s literally an allegory for preserving nature
The franchise is about being kind to and respecting nature
Them hating on Pokémon and their designs literally goes against the themes and intent of the franchise
Every design has its own unique charm and that’s what makes pokemon so diverse and special everything appeals to someone
Didn’t mean for this to come off as negative or toxic sorry if it did wasn’t my intention I just want the fans to apply the franchise’s messages about friendship to their opinions
A fan should practice the positive messages the franchise preaches to prove that they genuinely care about the franchise and this applies to anything and anyone not just pokemon
As the og theme said
Pokémon is about
Oh your my best friend in a world we must defend
I will travel across the land searching far and wide each pokemon to understand the power that’s inside
Our hearts so true our courage will pull us through
you teach me and I teach you”
They are all one of a kind and genius unique designs
With extremely in depth lore and backstory
animations 👀👀👀 also I’ve never used Crabrawler, I’m scared that if Crabominable stares at me I’ll turn to stone
hot take, crabrawler shouldve stayed a single-form
nah crabominable is cool, a little weird but cool
And that’s a fair opinion to have haha
Hopefully we'll get another Yeti Crab Pokemon, since they are actually REALLY COOL
maybe maybe
But what if you gave the evolved form a funny hat?
It’d look even funnier
@@toxiquid and it would salvage the design
@@edgyemogirl666 that would change it to “Hatbominable”
(sorry)
Yo crabrawler is an awesome Pokemon
Crabominable is suck tho
that’s a real cool evolution 👍
My top 10 alola pokemon are
10. Decidueye
9. Araquanid
8. Dhelmise
7. Turtonator
6. Lurantis
5. Incineroar
4. Palossand
3. Vikavolt
2. Crabominable
1. Golisopod
Eviolite crabrawler?
Dude this video was SOOOO GOOD
Crabominable was my first shiny, which put him in a place where I didnt really care about his shit design, so thanks for opening my eyes lol
I feel I'm one of the few people out there who actually likes Crabominal, now I don't *love* it but I don't think of it as all that bad a Pokémon especially in it's design, it's a yeti crab in the literal sense and I do like it's goofy design, but I will say I do like the idea of Crabruiser
Stumbled upon this video. Love Crabrawler but wish his evolution didn't appear so late into the game. Love your evolution design.
thank you!
Great idea I was really disappointed about crabrawler too
Meh still better than garbodor
Uh oh I made a video on that as well
i am a PROUD crabominable lover >:(
watch the rest of the video there's a way for everyone to be happy
Crabominable gets way too overheated, I mean it's an abomination and I like those types of pokemon AKA humanoid pokemon, but in needs to lose the bowl cut and teeth
funnily enough i dont actually HATE crabominable-- however, the line could've been way better.
I think crabominable is pretty cool i named mine mannymo
Someone show this video to my man Mr1upz! 🤣🤣🤣
Crabrawler is my favorite pokemon and its so wasted on a shitty evelution
Idk I like crabonidable too much.
Eh I think it’s fine
Mr1upz probably approved
i mean, send it to him to see what he thinks
@@toxiquid alright
You guys think too cold and cynically about Pokémon in terms of stats
There are no bad Pokémon only bad trainers who don’t know how to use the potential properly
Every Pokémon has potential
Pokémon is about
Oh your my best friend in a world we must defend
I will travel across the land searching far and wide each pokemon to understand the power that’s inside
Our hearts so true our courage will pull us through
you teach me and I teach you”
I raise pokemon the ash way
Every Pokémon has potential and any Pokémon can be good with enough compassion kindness trust and determination
Y’all have been brainwashed by smogon rules and tiers so much
Y’all forgot pokemon are friends first
Did you guys learn nothing about his rivalry with Paul and chimchar’s arc
Don’t be a Paul. Being a Paul is wrong
The anime may have different rules and logic but those life lessons can be applied anywhere and to any aspect of the franchise and life in general
i laughed so hard when he explain the crabs pronouns
11:22 Yeahhhhh
Thank you for being so kind God help me and these people to better understand u God amen
Crabruiser is cool
Very Good.
