Man those dam things always go out in the middle of dame winter or when your a couple days shy of a pay check. Shit never breaks when your flooding with cash flow ..
Much easier to replace than an 06 Corolla alternator. Damn bolt rounded off and seized in it. Had to take the intake off and sawzall the alternator off. After that it was loads easier haha
I been using mine for 4 years now. The last one was the original from 98. So I got a good 21 years out of the og one. Lifetime warranty on the alternator though from autozone. Hopefully I’ll never have to use the warranty
Love your videos as always especially fix it videos like this! Miss my dirty dodge think I might have to get another one but 2nd gen not a fan of the newer ones these were built pretty tough!
I still remember replacing the alternator on the reman motor that was in the 86 Chevy k20 custom deluxe well used longbed farm truck i ended up building a decent cammed 355 75 Chevy k20 4 bolt main block for, because when I went to get the alternator off the water pump bolt and the lower alternator bolt broke off in the block and then I went to reply the timing chain set and went to remove the crank gear and seen the front crank bearings were covered in metal shavings so I just stopped and started pulling the motor what a waste was a napa reman forged crank 350
Not a fan of using a used or reman alternator on anything that is difficult to replace the alternator or something that is driven long distances frequently. I prefer a new, named brand alternator. If the car is infrequently driven very far from home and it’s not too difficult to replace, I will cheap out and go with a new “Chinesium” alternator. I used to have a great local alternator, generator, and starter shop … but that is now history!
That's what happens when the big parts stores commoditized starters and alternators. Making remans cheaper than local rebuilding. However, a good local shop will rebuild/repair your original and it will outlast those big chain remans.
On my 5th alternator on 2 different pick ups in 5 months. Remanufactures means sprayed off with parts cleaner and shipped back to the auto parts store. They are garbage..same with reman starters.
Poking Ford and Chevy guys in the eye....hehehehe. I've had good and bad from all 3 GM, Ford, Fiat...I mean Chrysler LOL. But I also owned a Tah-yoda lemon for months. 2012 Tacoma would break something about every 3 or 4 weeks and turned out to rust faster than any car I've every owned. Sold that lady quick!
I don't know what you're talkin about bro my Ford Escort fuse box has it like yours does so your truck's not anymore better even my buddies old Ford F-150 has it on the fuse box on the inner side
my hondas oem thermostat is stuck open, during the summer it never gets hot, in the winter, it dosent get warm, i put a peace of cardboard in front of the radiator, it it gets up to runnig temp and stays there. until it overheats in the summer, i wont replace the thermostat. cardboard fixes no winter heat.
When I lived up North, I used liquor boxes as radiator shields. They are much more decorative.
For a remanafactured, that alternator lasted for an insane amount of time.
Man Jay is so damn entertaining. Cracks me up.
Dude! 😀 Glad they warrantied the old one! Take care Jay 🔧🔩
Gotta love the dodge fuse diagram, way more convenient than the owners manual.
Yep my momma's 96 f250 only says ford on the fuse power distribution center cover on the outside lol
Man those dam things always go out in the middle of dame winter or when your a couple days shy of a pay check. Shit never breaks when your flooding with cash flow ..
And the power flows again! ⚡️⚡️⚡️ BZZZZZZT!! Good work Jay! 🔧
Great video as always. Love to see 318 and 360 Mopars putting in work

my ford still runs and drives, needs break lines replace, but it has always started, even when it sat for 5 years, still started up, and sounded fine

Thank you Jay
I love cliferdd the big dirty dodge, let’s hope it will last for a long time
Back on the road again good to go
The majority of O'reilly Alternators that are remans are usually re-built Bosch. One of the best ones you can get.

I bought a remanufactured and the internals went. Had to get another so far no issues.
My original alternator on my 96 Camry finally went shocked it lasted 28 years lol
The original alternator was a denso.

Ok that song you made up was a banger...LOL
Yes I have had several worn out sbc motors and sbo 307 motors leaking oil,oil pump rattles, lifter ticks runs forever but limited power output lol
great video
Good morning
I will not buy remanufactured alternators or starters ever again. I got a remanufactured starter with lifetime warranty a month ago. Lasted a week.

Lucky. Most oem new alternators dont last 20 years

I like soup.
Ford is just a Fu**ing old rebuilt Dodge! and I have 220K on a 98 ranger 3.0 😁
I don't know what you're talkin about bro my Ford Escort fuse box has it like yours does so your truck's not anymore better even my buddies old Ford F-150 has it on the fuse box on the inner side
Rubber ratchet, I never knew they existed. 🤣
Can't beat the price of zero doll hairs.
Mine lasted a yr smh actually 11 month's
Hi Jay, I saw the cardboard in front of the radiator. If you want good heat out of your Dodge, use an OEM thermostat.

Lot of people complaining about these alternators.
10 mm is the most lost shit is mechanical history
Umm. Yeah. The diagram is on the inside of the cover. Cept it is in brail.
