I wish I were a millionaire so I could cover expenses of CMC, Hamza Yusuf's Zaytuna for at least 100 years up front and provided tuition for 100 bright students of knowledge every year at least 100 years.
Perhaps one day I'll be the one, untill then my best duas to CMC, Zaytuna and all Islamic Learning Institutes.

Not really. These colleges are Western centric and address problems facing Islam and Muslims in the West. Pakistan has it's own problems and needs it own set of solutions. If you learn anything from CMC, it should be this

Men and women sitting together and having 'intellectual conversation' about Islam and Muslims. What an irony. They are the one who supposed to know more about the religion and guide the average muslims. May Allah guide us and protect us.

    Bismihi Ta'Ala - as'salaam alaykum
The first speaker’s comment: “one of the modules we had studied was “British and European History of Islam and Muslims”, so this idea that “I am not here alone or, you know, 'I'm not from the first bunch of Muslims living in Europe; there's been a presence of Islam and Muslims for over a millennia here in Europe”, innocently, perhaps even unconsciously, and unknowingly misstates the reality it purports to describe.
It is not true, accurate or appropriate to say, “Islam and Muslims for over a millennia here in Europe”. No! Islam and Muslim have not just been a presence in Europe for over a millennia, Islam and Muslim have ALWAYS been part of Europe; Islam and Muslim have have been part of Europe and the universe since the dawn of time. There may have been, and there will be moments (even eons of time) and places in history everywhere, when and where they may have only one or two or three or a handful of muslims present in an otherwise vast sea of Yahoos; but that is how and where muslims, everywhere and in every time, have always found themselves. From the very first moment, when our grandfather Adam عليه الصلاة والسلام was fashioned and placed before the rest of Creation, there has always been somebody or something saying, “What the hell is he doing here??!??!”
Being muslim is not some kind of exotic, variant, one-among-many optional lifestyle choices. Being “muslim” is a mode of "being human", the ONLY mode of being truly and fully human, the ONLY rational and logical way to BE human.Every other way of being human is essentially delusion, every other way of being human is essentially an attempt to force reality to conform to your idea of what is or should be reality.
THIS, THIS is what I believe Sheikh Abdal Hakim Murad حَفِظَهُ الله - almost uniquely and alone, amongst all contemporary “intellectuals” and academics - gets. Compare what he (and the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ, all the Ambiya عليهم الصلاة والسلام) espouses to that which is espoused by the Popes, the Dalai Lamas, Adam Smith, Aristotle, Karl Marx, Thomas Aquinas, Pythagoras, the UN, Human Rights Watch, and/or the dons of Oxford, Cambridge & MIT?
I am not a scholar and do not know much about anything, and I know even less about philosophy but I am told that a fellow named Plato said something about all people being imprisoned in un-illuminated cave, trying to figure out the point, the rationale, the purpose of being, and being there. It seems to me that most of the humanity is still stuck in that cave, asking the question; while muslims alone know the answer.
Being muslim, or aspiring to be muslim, is about being or striving be أهل الحقائق, Ahl’ul Haqqa’iq; People of Reality.
I, like the vast majority of human beings have not got there yet. In fact, - many people are not even looking! (Again, I am not a scholar, but I read somewhere that Ibn Ata’illah wrote in one his Hikam 195: “He [Allah] knew of the irresolution of servants in dealing with Him, so He made obedience (taaʹa) to Him obligatory for them. Thus, He drove them to obedience with the chains of obligation (bi‐salaasilil ijaab). Your Lord is amazed at people who are driven to Paradise (al‐janna) with chain!)
But that most people are ignorant of, and oblivious to the Real, and The True is no reason to stop being to striving to be “real”, to stop being perpetually honest with & to reality, because is what being human means and entails.
So if you are a muslim, you are at home, no matter where you are (Hadith: “the earth has been made sacred and pure and a mosque for me” Rasul’Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ); no matter what the sociologists, journalists, poohbahs at the blue-ribbon think thanks, the National Front, Frank Gaffney Jnr, Geert Wilders and their kind say; we belong where we are. This is so, even when and if your mind occasionally tells you otherwise.

I want to respect everybody and have helped many Muslim refugees, as we Christians are to help our neighbour. But it is scaring in a free society not to be able to see a person's face and facial expressions.I wish God' s peace, blesings and salvation for each person in this world.🙏🕊💒

I’m a Muslim and I understand that the burka is intimidating and honestly women should wear more colourful clothing instead of the usual black that way it won’t be to frightening. But also look how society adapted to covid with facial masks on we can still communicate and life goes on with a face covering. Thank you for looking after Muslim refugees. Peace be upon you and you family.

    • @Kashkha7

Irene, in a free society could I force you to show me your face if you chose to hide it (for whatever reasons; fear of Rona & other airborne, not feeling confident or religious reason)? In a free society could I force you to open your IG/other social media accounts to me when you have set them on private only for your own family, people you've personally known & trusted & people you've personally accepted? Is it scary to listen to radio or talk to a call center? Is it scary to talk to people who wear Rona mask? No?
I appreciate that you have helped many Muslims refugees, but you wouldnt have to if your Bibles didnt have these verses amongst others:
      Deuteronomy 20:10-16
_When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. If they accept and open their gates, ALL THE PEOPLE IN IT SHALL BE SUBJECT TO FORCED LABOR and shall work for you. If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, LAY SIEGE TO THAT CITY. When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, PUT TO THE SWORD ALL THE MEN in it. As for the WOMEN, THE CHILDREN, the livestock and everything else in the city, YOU MAY TAKE THESE AS PLUNDER FOR YOURSELVES . And you may use the plunder the Lord your God gives you from your enemies. 15 This is how you are to treat all the cities that are at a distance from you and do not belong to the nations nearby.16 However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, DO NOT LEAVE ALIVE ANYTHING THAT BREATHES._
These verses been used by Christians to invade, gen 0 cide, loot & destroy Middle East, Africa &Asia. Those Muslims refugees woudnt come to your country & other European countries have your leader didnt invade them & loot their resources. And dont say terr 0 r ism. You, the Western governments that youve elected, created them for monopoly of power & resources & profit$. Youve been creating perpetual wars around the word for it. Do your research.
I appreciate your good wishes. I wish you the same. But could I ask you some things?
1.When you said God, did you mean Jesus peace be upon him or the very singular The One &Only True God (of Abraham) whom referred to by Jesus pbuh in his Aramaic tongue as Alaaha & whom referred to by all Arab Christians as Allah?
      2. When you said salvation, did you meant through Jesus pbuh crucifixion?
Id like you to ponder upon these verses:
      Matthew 7 21-23
_“Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but _*_only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven._*_ On that day many will say to me, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?’ Then I will declare to them, I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers."_
*the word used is anomia = evildoers who abandons the laws.
      The verses proves
      1. Jesus pbuh is not God. The real God is Alaaha (yes Jesus referred to God as Alaaha in Aramaic the language he spoke). Only Alaaha's will that matters this means Jesus is not equal to Alaaha, Alaaha is The Master & Jesus is the servant - as explicitly mentioned on Acts 3:13 ( _“The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His SERVANT Jesus."_ ). This says trinity is false.
      2. Only believers who do the will of Alaaha will go to heaven. And what is the most important will of Alaaha? Worship & serve only Alaaha, you shall have no other gods beside Him, surrender your will to Alaahas will. You have to obey His laws, do all you have to do & not do whats proibited. You have to work for it!
      3. Jesus never been sacrificed for people's sins. If he was really being sacrificed for people's sins then all people or the very least all the believers will be saved regardless. But Jesus pbuh said no, only ones who do the will of Alaaha are saved. This says salvation doctrine is false. No salvation through crucifiction.
Even the existence of Judgment day alone debunks salvation doctrine. Why would everyone be judged if everything already paid for? And why would Moses pbuh will be your accuser as stated on John 5:45-47, if Jesus already sacrificed for you? You have to work, you have to adhere to all & every jot of the laws, you have to surpass the righteousness of the pharisees otherwise hell for you as stated on Matthew 5:17-20.
Clearly these verses debunk the false trinity & salvation doctrine.
As Jesus pbuh would say in Aramaic & Mohammed pbuh in Arabic I'd say to you shlomo ahlaykhon, assalamu alaykum, may peace be upon you. And may Allah The One & Only True God who has sent Jesus pbuh & all the prophets pbut as His servants bless & guide us all to the right path ameen.
