My house no longer feels like a prison .All thanks to the huge heart and generosity of DJ. Only thing restricting me now is the astronomical price of electric to charge it ,but hot weather will soon be here and I will have no heating bills so will be able to explore and see what I have been missing . My only regret is I will never be able to thank DJ enough.
I love it when an old boy stops and takes the time out to chat to you about the area. So much is lost these days because people don’t stop and chat. I loved it when he said have a great life. What a legend 🤩
Oh, what a sweet old guy! He made the video the best of the year so far! Jasper was great also! If there were more people like the old guy, the world would be a better place! Love to you, MISTER ❤️
You've had a lovely day, DJ audits , the old gentleman was full of history and information , I could listen to him for hours , shame about his bird watcher friend , I would love to check out the page about the interesting birds he's found 🤔
All is not lost as long as old Fella's and Gents like that are still around GREAT Britain is still breathing. They still make the Country great. The foundations of the Country an what makes it great are built on people like that Man. And his dog liked you that means you must be a good guy. :D
What a good video! The people you met and who waved or beeped were all good folk, and it was so nice to see pleasant interactions and chats with interesting people - especially the chap with his dog, Jasper. Wonderful stuff!
Less than 0.5% of the UK's population watch your vids but it's amazing how many people know you from most places you visit😂 I like the gentlemans dogs name Jasper. I'm currently looking for ideas for male dogs names for when I get an Akita pup😀 ive seen your dog DJ 😉
Great video once again DJ, old guy was an absolute legend. When he said have a great life, for a channel which normally sees people at their worst that was powerful 🙏
DJ Is there anywhere i can get the drone tune from ? I actually want it for the car 😃👌 i love it! What a phenomenal video, every person was great! Makes a change to meet people all around a site who are all friendly and genuine and like to chat! The man with the dog what a lovely fella. Cheers DJ , im one of your biggest fans and I promote your channel to as many people as I can.
The flags are put on top of smaller vehicles like pickups etc because some of the larger dump trucks the driver is so high up that if a car was close to the front of their truck they would not see it and actually squash it, so with the flag on top waving about the driver should be able to see it and act accordingly. @23:56 that machine is a drilling machine that will drill holes for them to place explosives to clear an area for excavation/hauling to the processing plant.
Great video, loved the interactions with both of the gents. I'm quite local to here, been to the health and safety place many times. There used to be a tunnel that replicated the london underground and they would carry out explosive tests on the tube trains to see how they could improve safety post 7/7 bombings. The trains had gone the last time I was there though. Fascinating place really, and easy access too with the public right of way through the middle of it.
no one telling you what they think you can and cant do , lots of your watchers saying hi in person , and a great convocation at the end with a local cracking vid with some great aerial views
Two amazing interactions with two lovely blokes, if you made a separate channel with you just chatting to people like that, I hundred percent think we would all watch.
the grain on the road is usually where a lorry has come for a collection and was carrying grain on the last tip. Quick brush out before going on-site to take a new load.
What a nice person the gentleman was at the end DJ when I was a kid of 8 years old my dad drove for the BRS and he used to go to the Quarry for lime the was for the steel works in Sheffield, he took me with him once I will never forget it I am 67 now nice one DJ 🙂🙂
I remember, years ago guarding quarries, due to the explosives being used. Thats here in Northern Ireland, for obvious reasons. Amazing when they blow up a part. Worst part was we usually did it in Winter, so we made sure we were well stocked up with food and warm brews. Was basically, made a shelter of sorts and played cards😮😮😮😮😮
A great video, DJ, right in my neck of the woods. You should do Tunstead Quarry next, which is just a couple of miles away from there on the Waterswallows Road out of Buxton. Tunstead is a massive quarry with a huge modern processing plant.
i used to tip coal in a steelworks in scunthorpe with a walking floor trailer and you were not allowed to get in the trailer to sweep out after tipping due to H&S so the first layby about half a mile from the gate was full of little piles of coal where everyone had stopped to sweep out..😁
Hi DJ. The big yellow thing you saw at 24 mins on the video is a Rock drilling machine. This machine drills the holes for explosive charges to be put down. The rock is then blasted and collected by the shovel, and put into the loaders to move to the process plant. Any more information you need ?
The animal feed on the floor at the beginning - driver will have swept his body out so the feed does not mix with the Aggregates when he gets loaded - if he shows up on a site with a load of sand or small gravel if they saw a load of animal grain coming out when he tips they wont be happy bunnies
The Sprayed Concrete truck is a waggon and drag so the Hiab is for unloading the trailer I would think, I did Hiab work but on a class 2 rigid with rear crane doing bricks and blocks for a builders merchants.
DJ when he's alone: "Hello, how are you! Cheers!" DJ when other auditors are with him: "... ..." The other auditors: "OYOYOII--WHUT YUR ON ABOUT DEN INNIT? THESE UR MUH RIGHTS I AM?! POSH BUG!"
Awesome quarry site and drone views with amazing chats! Just south of the quarry entrance is the Dove Holes Tunnel railway entrance but not visible from the roads. 🚂⭐⭐⭐👍 The signage at the Cemex entrance main entrance is accurate, no public footpaths along the entrance road. A public footpath on the northwest border is accessible and marked on Dale Road about 1/4 mile west. On east border, Lodes Road is public footpath. Uncertain status of loop by the Cemex plant; no paths noted near the quarry pit or operations. On the OS maps, much of the area to the A6 and railway to the west has seen some quarry work, most small sites for lime kiln use. 1955 map and earlier: the north end with ponds labeled Holderness Quarry and the south end workings with production facilities labeled Newline Quarry (disused) and appears part was repurposed for the current production. Before the more modern trucks, much haulage done by rail in the quarries. 1883 and 1899 maps shows both quarries operating but Holderness was much smaller. Drone 20:00 left side, the straight cut behind the tall structures is the entrance to the Dove Holes Tunnel along Dale Road. Google aerial shows tracks to the entrance but no public footpath or images noted. Dove Holes Tunnel ran from the Peak Forest Signal Box (Dove Holes Quarry) north-northwest to Longs Lane south of Chapel-en-le-Frith. Constructed 1860 to 1865 and 2984 yard (2420 yards long on Graces Guide) or ~ 1.7 miles. Several partial collapses occurred during its use. Track, clearance and drainage work conducted in 2011. Seen several quarry sites that do have posted, fenced and gated public footpaths running through the operations. Good one is Sevenoaks, Kent, quarry which used to be large farm with several buildings from 1800s still in use. Quarry scheduled to close 2024 and to be redeveloped as housing and a park.
Cemex are one of the largest producers of course fisheries in the country. It's all those holes in the ground that they leave, that fill with water... At least they are making an eyesore into an amenity and earning extra income after they've finished extracting whatever is in the quarry. They are obliged, by law, to return their sites to a reasonable standard.....
The bloke and hid dog were fantastic what a lovely man this is one of the best encounters ever on the channel if he reads this take care old chap we think you are great. Regards. Haley
This place is local to me aha keep up the good videos you should try some of the factory's in whaley bridge / new mills swizzles sweets are made in new mills
oh dear, ANOTHER lesson for my very "close" friend DJ, the quarry`s have large rigid and articulated dumpers, big wheels on these beasts, 6-8 feet TALL, anyway as you can imagine the cabs on these beasts are very high, and there`s LOADS of blind spots in them, even though they`re covered in cameras, some types also have a "close proximity radar" which detects vehicles within a certain distance of them , the flag on the pick up, which is TOO SHORT by the way , if it "was" tall enough, would allow the dump truck drivers to see the flag and KNOW there`s a vehicle attached to it ! anyway that`s it in laymans terms, see you soon son, 🥰🥰
Yeah , that wheelchair has made a huge difference to my life . I am so grateful to you D J .
that's great to here!
Good on yer!
My house no longer feels like a prison .All thanks to the huge heart and generosity of DJ. Only thing restricting me now is the astronomical price of electric to charge it ,but hot weather will soon be here and I will have no heating bills so will be able to explore and see what I have been missing . You the chap he brought one too? God bless you

That was a wonderful 40 minutes. Lovely place and people. Always best when you’re solo 👍🏻
I love it when an old boy stops and takes the time out to chat to you about the area. So much is lost these days because people don’t stop and chat. I loved it when he said have a great life. What a legend 🤩

It's bit upsetting watching this vid.
The old Gentleman reminds me of my late Grandad. Proper man, gentlemen, hardworking, straight as a dye.
💚💚💚
When He said “twats” I spat my beer out, so funny DJ lol
What a cracking bloke at the end. Just wanted to have a chat, like it used to be. (pre-2001)
A lovely interaction with both gents, there’s still some good people left in this country, yourself included.
You've had a lovely day, DJ audits , the old gentleman was full of history and information , I could listen to him for hours , shame about his bird watcher friend , I would love to check out the page about the interesting birds he's found 🤔

“You have a good life “ he said.
Random interactions with normal people can hit home sometimes ..

Oooo an old school style title....
DJ when he's alone: "Hello, how are you! Cheers!"
DJ when other auditors are with him: "... ..."
The other auditors: "OYOYOII--WHUT YUR ON ABOUT DEN INNIT? THESE UR MUH RIGHTS I AM?! POSH BUG!"
Worse, he sometimes joins in with their auditard shenanigans.
Really nice chap with the dog 🐕
Fantastic video thanks 😊 I wonder if they find any prehistoric items or precious metals?
The Guy and his dog at the end were lovely... what a character 😊

Those vehicles in these places are massive, massive wheels, was surprised when i went to them. Like something out of the big truck videos.
What a pleasant bloke at the end there. I hope he is doing well.

But this was really good.
I wanna see this old pump now. Lol
I hope the lovely old fella reads the comments. What a nice man.
i love old interesting people
Should have stuck around when then charge/shell was reported, blue lights might have made another interesting interaction.
