It amazes me why people walk right up to a camera lens and complain about being filmed. 😂
Thanks for doing what you do DJ. You protect our rights while being very informative and also educate people. Top job mate. 👍
Mr vape with his camera! That’s why he works at a giant bin.
What an strange little man 😮
The first guy is obviously on day release from hospital.... Bless him....
How refreshing that bloke at the end was to take on board your criticism without getting defensive and without letting any ego get in the way like so many do.
What a strange little fellow. Impressive that they give them work in the community.
This was a Viridor site until BIFFA bought them out last year. I did a duty of care visit to this site when Viridor owned it and was really impressed by it
That first guy seriously gave me the creeps. The vibe I got off him when he started following you around with his camera was that he had every intention of using the images he was capturing for malicious purposes, like he's gonna stalk you or something.
@@macmachine If you really can't differentiate between auditing and stalking you should probably just go and watch failblog compilations or something, to be honest.
Cambridge English Dictionary defines 'Auditing' as a full examination of a company's financial status. But snooping individuals and businesses with cameras and/or drones for no other reason than to elicit a response, hopefully aggressive and/or negative, I would say, was a akin to stalking.
That first bloke came across as a right muppet bless him!
Please do the Amazon dispatch warehouse in Allesely Coventry!
Keep up the good work DJ
You know when someone is out of their depth when they pull out a phone and start filming you
I think it's the only excitement they get in their mundane life. He thinks he's suddenly found himself in some espionage scene. Just imagine when he goes home to the wife, or maybe his cat or dog and tells a story of how he prevented a hiest of waste.😂🤣😂🤣
@10:22 comedy gold
“ I’m on my break at the moment “
I nearly spat my tea out 😂😂
"Yeah hang on mate, I'm on my break at the minute" - hahaha!
I'd doubt the guy who took the picture was a manager he's the boss when there isn't anyone around
"i'm going to walk up to the camera to tell you not to film me"
You are very trusting DJ audits , leaving the Drone and controller on the ground and walking away .😮
Is this man filming himself vaping😂 well done dj ❤
The part around the 20 minute mark where the conveyor leads to the people sorting manually will probably lead to a barrel screen just after, that would be the blue unit that will just sort out smaller pieces.
I know more about the sites that do aggregate recycling but i suspect its the same as it looks almost identical.
Will say much respect to all that work in these industries as i have worked alongside them fixing the machines and fitting and repairing wear plates etc.
It's hard and the weather affects you and it smells with pests and rodents.
It's a difficult work and not enough respect is given to those in these positions.
Yeah nice 1, I would find it difficult to do such a job, and am grateful of what they do. Imagine doing this for non paid community service.
@@colingreer853
I dont think that's true at all, those safety issues he raised were valid and were missed by the employee's.
Those issues could have been serious and a risk to life that could have been missed,
If you are hiding something then you become defensive, but if you are proud of the job you do and respect the public them it's a positive experience that both parties benefit from.
Those that become rude and defensive should not be in those roles and private businesses that keep their activities private are not really welcome in society in my view.
So the fact you feel he ridiculed or belittled is your own fault and is a reaction of guilt or miss placed pride, where as to say he critised people, well what do you think an audit is?
Businesses prepare and work around authorised auditors and hide issues or clean them away before its seen, that's not the case here and that's why people watch.
The manager in this video certainly set himself up for criticism treating a member of the public Like that and it's a disgrace that people deem themselves to have authority over someone in public because of the role they do.
After seeing the way some people act I won't use their product or service again, so crying over the criticism makes the matter so much worse as it makes it apparent that the person doesn't learn and won't rectify their actions, you know what real adults do when they receive criticism?
They say thanks because it allows them to improve.
@@colingreer853
Different opinions are allowed and I do see how having someone pick up on everything someone does wrong would be considered nit picking.
But in this case all the issues were minor and no person would see them as a bad thing for the company, sometimes these issues are not so minor and in that case an auditor being nit picking can save an accident from happening.
The only real issue in this video was the manager, and it's funny as a good manager should be nit picking those issues but didn't.
And thats why a public auditor is something to be grateful for, and it also teaches a larger audience how to act in public, i think workers forget that when they walk in to public they are the same as the auditor, a member of the public that is representing the company and has a duty to act with respect.
I would say the manager was rude and ignorant and when he was challenged about GDPR he claimed he was on an unpaid break, but stopped his recording immediately, that was an admission of knowing his wrong doing but still didn't just say yeah you can have the footage, right then he made himself look very childish and it's also a real shame that people just say call the press office for information when approached with issues from the public.
Look at it how ever you like but the video tells the truth and a friendly respectful approach is expected by the public, if I was approached with demands, orders and threats of police like that I would have not been as nice back, so they should be thankful he didn't dig around further as i am certain I would have found some h&s breaches somewhere, didn't see many helmets about which surprised me as we always wore them, don't think it's a breach but it's reckless with so many random obstacles.
Now personnally i breached h&s quite often in different ways as its often overkill, but the helmet saved me quite a few times, at least a bump cap.
I will give you an example, his Makita video had 2 men on a roof not harnessed up, they saw his drone and put on the harnesses, that could have been the day one fell and he could have saved them that day.
The first manager blew a kiss when he left.could have invited you in for coffee 😀
It's amazing that some of these firms employ such muppets as managers etc.
Surely they could do better.
You have to be a muppet to be a manager, it's almost a requirement. It's exactly the type of people they want in charge of their employees'; someone who will enforce polices above rights and law's and wont question them. unfaltering loyalty even when in the wrong.
@@TheSlyFawkes Incorrect. I've had 8 managers if I remember correctly, and only 2 of them were muppets.
Supervisors however are a different story, as most of them are lazy and want you to do their jobs when the manager has gone home.
One of the muppet managers was a lazy Asian hired by his Asian mate who was a muppet area manager.
That area manager also hired another two of his Asian mates, one of which was a decent polite manager who actually did work, whereas the other was a former manager at another location hired as a supervisor yet he knew less about the job than I did and was also lazy.
The other muppet manager was an English co-owner of a company with its own in-house agency, ran by Eastern European immigrant supervisors, who were put in charge of the work hours. They gave the 90% Eastern European workforce mates as many hours as they wanted, yet they'd give the English workers less than 15 hours a week. When the 10% English workers complained to the English owners about it, they weren't interested.
love how he took the phone call and said he's on his break 🤣🤣😂
Another great video DJ
looking at the site and how untidy it is for a big company like biffa is shocking, I'm surprised the environment agency isn't on the case with rubbish everywhere including the yard, disgraceful
'ok, well.. off you go then.. heh!' 😂
That's gota be Ray Winstons son.
The big lad at the end was much more professional than the very oddly behaved manager .
The Guy at the end Should be the manager :) not the thug .... who let the company down :(
Don’t waste the police time ?
A bit ironic as all your doing is wasting people’s time 🤔
@@mrhugojacob6926 but DJ didn’t ask for anyone to stop working, so your comment is daft
Looking at it I would say that those where networking cables, keep up the amazing work D.J 😁👍
I really want these companies to be slapped with some data protection act / GDPR fines.
The authorities love to penalise the general public for minor infractions and such like, but hardly ever go for the big businesses for way bigger infractions. That's because individuals don't have the cash to fight, but businesses do and the authorities with authoritah want an easily life without doing much work.
A great audit in terms of quality and the nature of the interaction itself (the education aspect). The narration and video was superb. Full marks. I'm guessing the mystery plastic item was some kind of flexible insulation or packing, perhaps for 'white goods' such as washing machines, or even window glass.
Love your work DJ keep it up!
That was hilarious when he "answered the phone and told the person he's on his break". What a clown.
I’m suspecting he didn’t even get a call. Probably just pretended to get a call.
He had enough sense to realise that he had to continue the lie about being on a break since he knew he was being recorded.
Another great video DJ you are my best youtuber for audits by far!
Gobsmacked at how quick he said he's ringing the police
Auditing will eventually become the norm, and our work places and streets will become better and less corrupt for it .
Love ya work DJ .
I had to walk past this at one point for work and the mess from this place use to be everywhere they had teams of agencies workers cleaning it up.
@@stephen3654 Don't recall saying I was scared. just expressing my firsthand opinion of the site.
23:32 "He's not here at the moment, he popped out" probably on his real break. 🤣😂🤣🤣
Shat himself when you asked him if he was lying hahaha
If he was on a non paid break he was effectively a member of the public and you could have dismissed his questions.
You could have gone for a cheese and chutney sandwich but you didn’t!
even on an unpaid break they are still working for the company as its defined within their working hours
paid unpaid doesn't make a difference, he is an employee of the company during the time of his shift, and Basta
Except his questions were about the company and the site, so they were work related questions. So he is working.
He could be the owner of the company and DJ could have dismissed his questions.
22:24 Network cables don't carry high voltages so they are not dead. Ethernet cables only have to handle about 2-3 volts. The voltage detector will only work on high voltages.
That wiring on the fence looked like data cabling, possibly connecting into the IT equipment in the cabins. It is so low voltage that it wouldn't register on the volt-stick. So it may actually be in use.
They are old Data Cables. They look like they were used on a temporary basis. They should be housed in containment not lashed to a fence 😂 the cables should be of external grade running outside ideally. If you wanted a warranted system. Those weren’t.
@@martingetliffe I've done some sketchy cabling in my time but that was nuts. If I tried that some landscaper would come along and mangle it all up with a string trimmer or something. Bare cable under a brick path with not even rated cable. Even for temp use I would have got some pipe of some sort.
I was on hols recently and popped into a gadget store and they were selling DJ Minis. It felt like I was seeing a celebrity 😄
Another vid where DJ don't disappoint 👍🏽😎
you know the great thing about DJ audits is 🤔 yes he has to poke The fire to get a response for his UA-cam channel, and I get that, however what I would say is now in his professional manner he never actually pokes the bear. so well done sir.
The big guy was a gentleman. Very professional.
youre like mike from breaking bad as he snoops around madrigal warehouses for gus.
The first guy a manager 🤣😂 he's delusional the guy at the end was respectful this is how a good manager would act bug thumbs up 👍 to him great audit another job well done
DJ do you ever go back and do a revisit/follow up to see if they have rectified their faults? Love the vids btw 👍
@@DJAUDITS When you request a copy of your picture being taken does it ever turn up?
Dude with the lovely hair looked like "Biffa Beef" from Beano and acted the same, trying to be pathetically intimidating, knows shite and gets what he wants with false threats!!! Great vid as always DJ - Not sure Biffa's boss mates will be too happy to see this footage!!
The drone music 🎶 got me in a perfect mood 😁 Great video Dj.
9minutes in and this is gonna be a banger
Fancy walking up to someone with a camera and asking them not to video you! 🤣🤣🤣
The times they walk up to a camera from some distance away & say don't record me, it's unreal 😁
i am surprised they don't use them road sweepers or the larger ones for cleaning the F1needed,
That polite "off ya go" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
3:50 "ok I'll call the police"
"The who?"
Are you two arranging a festival?
I reckon that pile of waste you mentioned is packaging foam, or stuff similar to bubble wrap called air column cushion wrap.
Those cables might be being used. The look like phone or alarm cables. You see external movement detectors on poles. These trigger inputs on the cctv controllers which in turn will swing the PTZ cameras to that zone. They'll like be 12 volts dc and not enough to light up your tester.
Oh DJ you legend!
Never mind *thumgs up* That was *gold*
That was *Two Thumbs* at the very least!!
They are data cables, they won't show as "live" on your Screwfix volt detector.
They'll be in use for data purposes which is 12v or under
It's made your day look at all the skip's wow you must be in heaven 🤣
DJ are you going to do a few vids outside of the Midlands area? I live in hope that you are going to do a few places in the North some day.
I'm not getting my own way so I'm going to call the police!!!! I don't care that someone isnt't breaking the law but they are hurting my feelings...
Lap screwfix special 🤣 love this tool
Reminds me of the tip my grandad used to take his waste to! I remember one time we found a katana and rush hour 2 on dvd so we nabbed em
I'm not saying you don't have line of sight, but you must have bloody good eyesight to see that drone from where your standing.
The requirement is to have visual line of sight. It doesn't say that you have to actually see it.
@@richardbosson774 To be able to check that there aren't any obstacles in the way and to check that nothing else flying would interfere with the drone.
great work mate! keep them accountable!
He’s on his unpaid break! But somehow believes his obligation for loyalty should continue. Strange week individual!
DJ I use to work for a company like this and 90 per cent of the bins are mixed with other stuff
He said he was on a break, but he returned to work when decided to intervene/discuss about what he claimed as police matter at work /security matters. He can't be doing both surely.
I'm surprised all that demolition debris can be transported and dumped dry. I thought they would have to wet it for environmental reasons. More mind boggling is that the hgv can drive in and out of site without cleaning there tyers. That I would have thoght to be a minimum effort to protect the environment. All the bad things flying arrownd. Micro particles ect. It would want to live anyware near that site. They are illegal in my opinion.
Ye a gd egg DJ so polite and helpful. Great video my mate kp it up 👍
Nice one dj please do more biffa sites! Always interesting as always thanks!
Your so nice in telling them what's wrong, how can they take offence 🙄
Wow, seen some strange characters in these vids but that first fella 🤣
The earring must have unbalanced his head ?
when i was a kid.. i had a saturday job on a conveyor belt at a recycling center.
Data cables will not show as live . Just for future reference 😊
Cabling is dead, tested with voltage meter xD some learning to do my friend :D thats a cat5 cable.
Biffa skip gives me bad memories use to shotblast and paint these worst job of my life we're absolutely stinking
Very good and professional.
Interesting video, recycling centres are fascinating from an industrial process point of view.
First manager was a bit of a douche, second guy much more professional. Good feedback for the site too!
At 6:26 when you mentioned they gave another company money as they were using a viridor bin, its because biffa owns viridor.
You got the mini 3pro NICE! plz keep on filming! -get on the cutting! - DaVinci Resolve - easy... ThX SIR!😎
When you look at the MASSIVE investment in these businesses with trucks, grabs, yard space, employees, collection and delivery of this 'rubbish', how on earth can it be financially viable to sort and separate it and then move it on once more to a firm to use it? After all of that, most of the rubbish is STILL rubbish and must go for landfill/burning . Someone must be getting HUGE subsidies to pay for all this effort.
I'm sure they mulch it all together and use it with concrete for building foundations
@@Littlewing6was9 No...I'm sure that they dont do that. Concrete needs to be of a certain strength and adding garbage would not be part of the mix. But thanks for your response. 🙂
Wow, that weird man was the site manager! How?! Proper proper weirdo the second guy was way more professional
The manager certainly was a very strange individual and the ear ring just made him look ridiculous. Oh well different strokes for different folk. The second guy was more approachable and how it should be handled. Another enjoyable audit DJ
Did you turn the voltage detector on?
Hi DJ how are you, I'm fine thanks,I've been doing a bit research about the area,,and I was talkingto a colleague of mine, who works in the History museum in London,,and she said this site you're at is a very important historical area,,and it has to do with that old faithful woman Boadicea ,, apparently she used to have her chariots made here In this same place,,what a coincidence,, isn't it DJ,,everytime you go to a place of interest,if it's just like magic really, something of interest always occurs,, fascinating.anyway, this historian I mentioned from London,, has found artifacts of note about Boadicea,,she was digging roughly where you were standing,,with the boss dude,,when she came across some old carved stone,,every body was amazed,, people from all over England came to see the wonderful artifacts, and chiseled into the stone the word's,,,QIK FITISH,,,a sign that used to be above an old Roman chariot building, what a find, true story.
Great job DJ.
Down the road from me, fantastic
Haha, looked liked data cables running along the fence. Your device would not show anything but they would have a problem if they got rid of them to tidy it up.
Exactly what I was thinking. It would screw them up if someone cut all those cables.
Hey dj
Those peices that u couldn't identify, those look like plastic bottles melted down into big chunks then put there.
Also I used to work in something like, I worked on a conveyor belt that was moving 325 per minute.
Now I work in a bottle exchange place and we have to open each garbage bag and sort all in bag.
So that's plastic bottles, beer cans, soda or pop cans, all glass bottles are separated as well and the only thing we count is the plastic bottles.
Goodness the word numpty comes to mind
looks like a nice clean site 🤣wot would it be like on a really windy day
recycling is great .thanx for vid
