WTF are Peptides? - Risks and Rewards

- Wondering what all the fuss is about peptides? They’ve been linked to everything from weight loss to hormone production, quick healing, and even tanning. Maybe you’ve heard athletes, celebrities, and media personalities talking about taking them and you’re wondering if they might be worth a try? If so, this video is for you.
So, why have peptides become so popular? What even are they? Peptides are short chain amino acids involved in everything from metabolism to tissue regeneration, digestion, and more. Your body produces more than 7,000 peptides naturally, but when taken in isolation-usually injected-they can have drug and hormone-like effects on your body.
Peptides have been used in medicine for a century, and there are over 60 FDA approved versions (insulin for diabetics being one of the most common). But more recently “research labels” and social media have pushed experimental peptides to the forefront - and people are taking them like crazy.
Why? Because the general assumption is that peptides are safer than pharmaceutical drugs or exogenous hormones. However, this is just a theory, and most haven’t been tested on anything except mice, so we don’t really know.
In this video I’ll help you get a better understanding of what peptides really are, how their use has evolved, the risks of using them without medical supervision, and most importantly, best practices for safety. Let’s get started!

99% of mainstream endos and PCPs will have zero clue as to peptide therapy. One is best advised to seek out a functional medicine doc, wellness/antiaging clinics that specialize and are trained in HRT and peptide therapy. They're out there.
Very good point....
Not everyone makes 100k a year. Every diagnosis for the poor is self-medicated. Some choose heroin, some choose bp 157. Every doc ive ever had told me to quit thc. Weed is the best medicine ive ever taken. Compare the laundry list of prescription that all my family and extended family take compared to my 1/8 to 1/4 a week of ganja. Only med i take. Im in my 40s
PCP know that's why they don't like them so they can peddle farma meds that they get kick backs from
Good info! Thank you. Helped me reconsider and see the other side on a couple of thoughts I had. 😊
Great information here. Thank you
I tried Melanotan 2 and after only 10 days of use I disconvered multiple moles on my face.
I then decided to stop it immediately and I had a consultation with a dermatologist.
Nothing malignant was discovered, but I regret the use of Melanotan.
I am currentlu using GHK-CU, and I can say I have a very smooth skin and my hair is much darker than before (less grey hair than before).
I hope this can be helpful and interesting.
A voice of reason. Well said, Lucas.
👍

Study released by PubMed NCBI says....Currently, all studies investigating BPC 157 have demonstrated consistently positive and prompt healing effects for various injury types, both traumatic and systemic and for a plethora of soft tissues.Mar 27, 2019
Thanks so much for sending that information, because watching this video I would have thought that BPC 157 was an anecdotalical unproven peptide, thanks again.
Totally might be safe… it’s banned so likely has effects. Very limited studies mostly mice.
NOT BANNED... It's prohibited on the WADA list which only means if you play a sanctions sport you can't take it it's not illegal and the side effects of virtually non-existent.
@@YOGABODY.Official most scientific communities would not consider several thousand humans over the last 8 years a small limited study The research is public out there and very known,
@@YOGABODY.Officialnot banned by the FDA. It’s flagged as a substance needed to be further researched before being deemed safe or not.
I love and appreciate all your educational videos. If people enjoy your short videos I highly recommend you do the YogaBody instructor courses.

There’s a scary amount of young male fitness influencers dying young who have been using all kinds of things like this. Scary
I do sprint, i am 35. Some days after run, i feel really shitty. I just back myself with BPC 157, which a friend intorduced. Great result, it improves my flexibilty and mobility. Speeds up recovery and inflamation as well. Im getting it from Nextchems. Might be of help.
👍
agreed
That's mostly from tren and other hardcore steroids. Highly doubt peptides are the cause unless they're improperly taking them.
I was looking to find side efects for tb 5oo and all i see is helping to heal , they even all say it helps with heart problems 🤔
What about collagen peptides? Are they beneficial or harmful?
Powered / oral collagen peptides are very unlikely to be harmful and maybe be beneficial. The data I've seen are not super convincing in terms of efficacy but could be.
Watch out for bleeding hemorrhoids if you take the collagen peptides. It started for me after just one-two weeks. I stopped taking it and threw away the product.
@AK27inAZ that was probably from putting things up there that don't belong. Can't blame peptides for your unsavory weekend activities
Sounds like your experienced @@vivelachocha2751
Bpc157 is hgh related and so dangerous..?
Very uncertain... who knows, maybe it will be approved some day.
The common feature of semaglutide and insulin: Their use for type II diabetes and weight loss forms a dependency with dire consequences when you stop using them. You’re better off using dietary and lifestyle changes - if possible - to reverse insulin resistance, ensure safe results and to sustain the benefits. I wonder how many of the experimental peptides require use for a lifetime to maintain the results.
What you're saying is true; however, the lack of treatment for diabetes or obesity have very severe consequences too, so it's a complex problem to solve.
@@YOGABODY.Official Who said that diabetes and weight loss shouldn’t be treated?
Hi Lucas, I was told that Peptides could help with arthritic/joint pain at base of thumb (it's at the point where I can't really even use it, but if Peptides are risky I wouldn't try it. Any comments by you will be very appreciated. Thanks!
I had the same problem … turned out that it was the carbs I was eating (all grains equate to sugar)z
I went 100% Carnivore and have lost weight and never felt better.
(Check out Mikhaila Peterson)
👍
Hi Constance! It's certainly possible. I wouldn't rule out options, and again, all peptides are not the same. If your doctor recommends HgH stimulating peptides for joints and you have blood tests to watch for problems, it might be worth considering.
So insulin is a peptide, which is a short chain amino? I thought insulin was a hormone, making it a lipid. I’m confused!
@@snowyowl6892 I did carnivore for 2 months and lost 35 pounds. Like you I felt great and was never hungry and lost all craving for sugar. My problem is my wife thinks it’s unhealthy so I stopped short of my goal of 45 pounds. Better than listening to her whining. Lol
Some Peptides have been around for 30 years and most are approved. 3 that I know of have not but are so great that they are being used night and day.. Look Else where for a more informed "peptide beginner" video.. fear stops many people living to their best life..
Show me one study showing a cancer connection with peptides
Peptides are a very broad category, so not so much about peptides the category but specific peptides commonly used like HGH stimulating hormones. HGH makes everything grow (think: distended abdomen of body builders). We all have cancer cells in our bodies, all the time. Men in the 2nd half of life very commonly have cancer cells in their prostate as an examples. It's a very possible risk that HGH stimulating peptides can make that grow. If you search around, you'll notice that young (under 50) body builders can cancer very often. A prevailing theory is their anabolic use stimulates cancer growth. To be clear, research is pretty poor and mostly mice with most of the off-label stuff, so it's possible it's safe. Also possible it fries your liver after 3 years... hard to say.
"There is some indication that it is harmful for your liver kidneys and even your heart...who knows" Can you link the studies related to this information you provided?
Looks like he only reply to whom has praises for him. I used peptides and they are great
@@mittikomon7129 Yup - Dont let this bozo discourage you. Same here, Ive been on peptide stacks for 3 months - life changing. Especially BPC157 and MOTS-C. Amazing!
Love how you talk like Doctors and the FDA are to be trusted🙄
I had this sad feeling when he was saying this, that we cannot trust anybody anymore nowadays
I think it's a little more nuanced than that, I think many of us have very different desired outcomes / risk assessments. One person wants to look good at all costs, another wants to win races, another wants to live healthfully into their 90s. There is some overlap but the choices will be largely different.
Hello Micah - definitely lots of problems with drug business and approval, but a flawed system is still a better system than fringe labs online. But I get your point.
They value hairloss
Can it be done with out injections b I not strong not going listen 😅
I do not want to hear go to Docter..these doctors do not give me help you know😅
Are you doing peptides???
I always love both sides ofvthe story . !
