Dude I'm like you, asian from socal, it is so difficult applying for CS major!! I got in ucsd and uiuc, went to ucsd, it is still very strong in CS, especially some fields like graphics are ranked as good as the top 4, so don't be dismayed, you will still do very well in CS
I basically did no type of volunteering or leadership stuff most of my CS ecs were just my own stuff; I had made a lot of personal projects like I had a couple of apps on the App Store and I made a couple of games. I also did a bunch of hackathons and I had won a good amount. However, most of this I did during quarantine because before I was too busy skateboarding and stuff so I think what I lacked was commitment to an activity for a long time. One of my stronger ecs was that I spearheaded the surf team with a couple of buddies at our school but that's basically it

@@dylaning6214 if you want to make both android and ios apps withe one codebase ( programming language ) then learn react native or flutter if you wanna make ios apps learn swift if you wanna make android apps learn java and kotlin but if ur really new to programming then i recommend learning python first cuz its the most readable language meaning it doesnt look like total nonsense when u read the code
@@dylaning6214 yeah no problem one last piece of advice : consistency is key!!!! What I did to keep my self on course was just go to the library alot and read a bunch of tutorial books. Most of the programming I do is in the Dart programming language, and what I did for that was just get a tutorial book for dart and do literally every single tutorial thing they have
Bruh I’m just saying if u went to PVHS instead you would’ve gotten valedictorian because of less competition. PVPHS has so much competition. I go to PVHS and it’s 100000000000000000000000x better
