What is crazy is the fact that this man has made instructionals on all of his strategies and submissions and still nobody can beat him. He’s giving them free tape. It’s like someone scouting the opposing team’s side lines and knowing all of their plays and still lose. 😂

The thing is I don't think it is the specific techniques that's doing it for him. Its the fact that the techniques he uses are suited well to his game and he is very good at them. Same thing for all the other greats. People knew what Marcelo and Roger were doing too. these dudes at the top were just masters at making their Jiu Jitsu work for them and had really worked on perfecting the techniques they were using.

@@GASmotorsports That’s the best explanation I’ve heard. I can definitely vouch for that! In the instructionals ive watched of Gordon’s, he has reiterated that his purpose isn’t to show dozens of techniques, but concepts we can use to develop our own game.

    • @RMichaelHimself

Right? Makes you realize how short human athletic prime is. 25 is considered young - even “immature” as far as experience goes. Yet physically, it’s really your prime. By 35 it’s basically over. Humans have like 10 years to really be athletic specimens, even in the best of cases - and yet most humans are still learning about life during a chunk of those years.

The best part is watching a world champion’s face as Gordon explains his and John’s magic.

Anyone else watch these videos purely to hear Faria say "ok guys" in his calming voice and proceed to gently tap his guest's knee?

One basic question is how did Mr. Ryan learn this?? Techniques are coached or broken down step by step with a coach? I don’t want to speculate maybe he came up with it on his own. If so how did he formulate this escape. Really amazing stuff and shown in a simple demo...many thanks.

Has Gordon ever rolled with Marcelo Garcia?
That would be an incredible exchange for sure!

A friendly roll would be great, but I think Marcelo would tap if they sparred hard.
