an aspect about this Two Face that always got my attention is that they made him phisically very big and strong, they made him at least as big as batman so bigger than avarage characters shown in the series (only croc towers over him), officially Dent is only 6' tall but here he really looks over 6'2" with a very large frame as well, not to mention that he's damn strong and capable to knock down batman with ease just with his bare hands, don't know why this choice but I like it.
Seriously a very underrated villain, He needs more recognition and deserves a spot in batman 3 as a main villain. Maybe they should have saved him in The Dark Knight
Richard Moll is so amazing as the voice of Two-Face and he was one the best villains in the show :) ''You're talking to the wrong Harvey '' I found that voice scary when i heard it for the first time :)
Two face part one and two and mr freeze heart of ice are some of the best writing for Batman ever. Richard Moll voice is beyond amazing. Would love footage of him in studio voicing the character.
@@Lalaxbo perhaps they’re saving for a later edition. They had some serious talent back then-Adrian Barbeau as Catwoman, John Glover as Riddler and of course cannot exclude Mark Hamill as Joker. Would love to see all the voice actors in studio voicing these characters.
To be honest, they never gave him enough screen time and they never use Two-Face to rob stuff during the day to give to charity because Two-face is suppose to be not really the two evils. I mean Batman said he fears Two-Face more then any of his foes and it's something the writers don't seem to acknowledge threw out the years. And he disappears with no mention of his whereabouts in Batman Beyond.
I agree. They only showed him like once or twice in TNBA and only in goofy episodes like "Almost Got em" and only one other episode where the twist was obvious.
***** Or maybe they didn't dig deeper into the comics from the 40s or 70's by dennis o'neal to incorporate stuff onto the show for Two-Face. Some Two-Face fans they turned out to be...
The Arkham series didn't do much with him either. It's hard to write for this character without making him part of another supervillain's scheme, or by making the story about Harvey struggling with his personality.
Richard Moll was a fantatsic choice for the part. His grisly Two-Face voice is awesome, but he was probably equally effective as a righteous and affable Harvey Dent (before the accident). One of my favorite voice actors from the entire series.
Although Hamill's Joker is my favourite Batman villain, Two Face is my favourite BTAS character, we got to see him go from a few episodes as a hero, friend of Commissioner Gordan and Bruce Wayne and on the side of Batman, to a man loosing his grip on reality and suppressing his other person, to trying to reclaim his life until finally completely going insane and trying to kill everyone including himself. Great character development.
That ending scene. I thought that was by far the BEST character dynamic they ever gave Two-Face. The fact that his mind has been ever degenerating to the point he develops a 3rd personality that he didn't even know about in "The Judge." By far my favorite Two-Face episode.
Your absolutely right, the 2face two parter was the most complete and perfect cartoon story ever. From when batman first confronts 2 face to them working together, batman pleading to help me and 2face doesnt know who batman is, and is confused by him, then he loses his coin, everything.
That is Richard Moll of "Night Court" fame as Harvey Dent/Two-Face. I thought Moll does an exquisite job. That growl of his doesn't seem to wear thin for me and it suits the character well, but he was also excellent as plain old Harvey Dent, before he becomes the villain. Practically perfect performance.
Harvey stood up to a bully then felt guilty when he heard the bully was hospitalized. He thought he had something to do with it, but the bully just came down with a flu. Harvey began to feel guilty about his angry feelings and supressed them. AWESOME backstory
@@MorseCodeStutters that’s the origin story from the animated series. The mob then discover this and plan to blackmail him by exposing his mental issues to the public. Great origin. Better than getting splashed in the face with acid.
Thank you. Finally some closure. I had a few people telling me I was missing scarface and clayface, but then people started telling me I needed to upload catwoman, bane, killer croc, madhatter, manbat and every other character they could think of. The shit was getting ridiculous.
To be honest The Judge shouldn't have been the last episode cause there are more two-face stories out there that they should have made into episodes from them if the writers had moved their lazy asses to make them cause i would like Two-Face to rob stuff during the day to give to charity because Two-Face is suppose to be not really the two evils. I would have to say that if the Batman films from the 90s were made better with Michael Keaton still as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Tim Burton as an executive producer (not as the director), & Dennis O'Neil as a consultant, I would have cast Dennis Quaid for the role of Harvey Dent/Two-Face instead of Billy Dee Williams (which I didn't understand why he was cast in the first place) and Tommy Lee Jones (he seemed to be more of a Joker-type of character in Batman Forever).
I love how this particular Arkham File has got the most views even though I rarely ever hear people chat about Batman and Two-Face the same way they do with Batman and Joker.
To be honest In some of the comics like Face the Face, Harvey suffers a crisis of conscience and a mental battle with his Two-Face personality that only he can see and hear. Even his ex-Wife Gilda/Grace tried to convince him that his alter ego is the Fiction and he (Harvey Dent) is the Reality.
Two Face is honestly my favorite villain from Batman!!! He’s my favorite because he’s not a sociopath unlike Joker or Scarecrow, he’s struggling with his split personality, or I should say: his two sides of the same coin: Harvey Dent and Two Face. And the other reason is that I’ve always felt sorry for him as a kid.
Batman and Two Face are extremely similar, as both posess double identities. But Batman's are secret and united, whilst Two Face's are obvious and opposed. Batsy has self control over them, something that Two Face obviously lacks.
Also I like this Two Face better than the movies personally. Mainly because he was already there even before Harvey got burned and he was Batman's longtime friend. It makes it all the more suspenseful and tragic. In Dark Knight he was good, but I didn't quite like how they made him Bruce's love rival. As for Batman Forever's Two-Face...... well it wasn't quite great to say it nicely. But here they hit the nail on the head. Richard Moll's voice is also great.
Yep. Earlier our comments were talking about the various different Batman cartoons. I actually forgot about Mr. Freeze's origins until I saw that episode just recently. I don't know where he stands (favorite wise) because there's always something to love about Batman's villians you know? I do know, however, that the Joker and Two Face are my two favorite male villians. Female wise, I love Poison Ivy and Catwoman (though the latter is more of an anti hero).
Two-Face was really tragic character in The Dark Knight. He wasn't even a villain really, he was a victim. Joker's constant torture drove him insane, which had been his overall plan to try and make Gotham collapse.
@Flumong actually, even though they won't, they could make it as if there are crimes based on the number 2 like 2 victims, 2 choices, etc. and batman realizes this and as batman tells comissioner gordon to check his grave and as bruce wayne attends this and learns there is no body in the cakset. and he kept it a secret so he literally did have 2 sides-alive and dead
“Looked even better in the revamp”??? What??? Compare his appearances in seasons 1-3 to season 4. He was SO much more expressive then, just look at those faces that he makes in the first Two-Face episode! The later one is more stiff and doesn’t have the same range of expressions. This is part of the reason why the newer designs leave me cold. A few got off ok like Harley but the rest just do not have the spark that they did before. There IS such a thing as simplifying designs too much.
Well, I could understand them including a glimpse of him. For example, there could be a scene that takes place in Arkham, and for a brief moment, the viewers see the Joker in his cell, who is perhaps standing by the window or what have you. As long as he didn't really have a speaking role, and wasn't seen very clearly, I don't suppose the fans would mind a cameo equivalent.
I haven't seen a lot of Philip Seymour Hoffman's work. But whoever gets to play the Penguin, they'll have to put up with the comparisons to Danny Divito's well done Penguin in the Tim Burton series; it'll be a another Heath vs Jack all over again. Hoffman seems versatile in that he can play both serious roles and funny ones. I can see him a good candidate the Penguin.
Because by having a funeral, it makes the public think that he did die (which, if you think about it, really did when he became Two-Face). It's possible that he fell down, got knocked unconscious, and got put in Arkham Asylum so his transformation into Two-face is not known by the public, hence having the funeral will get the public to believe that he is physically dead, wiping out any evidence that he committed heinous crimes towards the city (at least for the time being).
best batman villains IMO: 1. joker(in everything!!) 2. TWOFACE ("batman TAS" and "Dark knight" kinda gave him some depth to make me like his character) 3. penguin (penguin: pride and predjudice. great story everyone should read!) 4. mr.freeze( this character may not shine much in comics, but he sure shined in 30 min of fame in heart of ice episode in my humble opinion he has so much depth and potential 5. catwoman(she kicks ass AND gives batman some ass lol)
It's thanks to my great, great, great grandad that TwoFace was created. My grandad was Robert Louis Stevenson who wrote the book, Dr Jekel and Mr Hyde and the guy who created Two face was inspired by that and thats how he thought up the idea of two face as a batman villan
Nolan said he would never do one with Penguin, Freeze or Poison Ivy. He stated in an article he would only work with the more realistic villains. More then likely, the next will be the Riddler.
No, I don't think you'll find a good number of folks who would argue that Nicolson's performance was demolished by Heath's reprisal. Just as the newer films do pretty much everything better than the older ones did.
It's a shame he got killed off early in the Christopher Nolan Batman series. His version of two face was as close to this as it gets. Joker is my favorite villian, but Two-Face is my 2nd favorite and he is a total badass.
you know I always thought of Two face's ugly side as being the evil one, and his good side on not being evil, but is stuck having to commit those crimes with the other one, like an innocent person being forced to work with a criminal.
Thank you! I like Penguin too really. Paul Williams gave him a great voice and I hear that inspird Danny Devito for his performance. My main problem with the Penguin is that he didn't really get great episodes. I love TAS, but that "I've got Batman in My Basement" just seemed a little off to me. It looked like Home Alone kicked in when the kids are using Batman's gadgets. He's still a great villaion though. Two Face is handled perfectly in the series too.
I love the way they depicted hervey dent/ two face in the dark knight, he is true to the comins, they show the story of how he became 2 face, and it shows that he already had issues as harvey dent, as they mention, he was corrupt in his own way, arrogant, cocky, and of course "made his own luck" honestly, When I saw Jones depiction, i lost respect for the villain, then i watched the dark knight and started liking him again. Joker and two face in the hospital scene, EPIC
what are you talking about? From what i saw in an interview "you know the rule, no burial no death, and if theres a sequel id love the chance to continue the role as harvey dent."
I agree, I for one, am a Penguin fan. I mean he's a gangster who runs a club and has his men pull these crazy heists. I think he's pretty sucsessful. Oh yah, I like Mark Hamill the best as the Joker too.
I feel so bad for Two Face because he had everything going for him and then BAM! It all falls apart and he goes crazy! He's right up there with the Joker in my book!
What makes Two Face so awesome is the fact that he had everything going for him. A respected District Attorney, had a beautiful soon to be wife and he was best friends with Bruce Wayne. Then he has the accident and becomes a Dr. Jeryll and Mr. Hyde! I know some people might write him off as a petty criminal or thief BUT to me, he's just as dangerous as the Joker because he has split personalities AND you never know what he's going to do! And he did look better in Batman: The Animated Series.
I wish there was more of Two Face in The Dark Knight b/c he is def one of my favorite villians from this series. Actually I really love all the villians from Batman: The Animated Series, they're some of the best. But Joker, Two Face and Harley Quinn are my most favoties.
Well, the scenes they show in this clip are a mixture of both the original (1992-95) and second (1997-99) series. You can tell the difference by the second series' simpler and more angular designs (and also its eternally blood-red skies).
Rachel meant everything to him (family). Plus he was already starting to turn before her death because The Joker's chaos and all the madness & corruption was starting to push him over the edge, to where he started to cross the line btwn bad and good(eg Scene under the bridge where he threatened to shoot one of Joker's cronies for the shooting of Gordon. Batman stops him). Rachel was the last straw, so he decided to take justice into his own hands.
It really kind of ticks me off how there's so many underated villains in Batman. Everyone jsut loves to talk a load about the Joker and mainly only the Ledger one at that. Don't get me wrong I like the Joker alot and Ledger did well (Mark Hamill's my favorite but still). Yes he's Batman's greatest enemy, but there's SOOOOO many others to mention too. Give them some credit. Two Face for example is a GREAT villain.
When I was little i thought the coin flipping was just a corny gimmic. But now that I'm older I understand it better. Apparently the two egos both agree it's dangerous to keep fighting each other, so they decided to get a third party involved ( the coin). Bad side, bad harvey makes the decision, good side good harvey makes the decision. So the coin is what keeps the balance between the two egos. Two-face is a very complex character if you ask me.
I wonder why when he first becomes Two-Face, his left hand isn't scarred, not even his arm; but later on, it is. Did he reburn himself just to look even?
It'd be great if they'd continue with the Joker(as Jonny Depp). I'd like also to see the Riddler, and a well done Bane(an intelligent hitman). The Riddler would bring out Batman's intelligence: his greatest strength. The Joker would ensure a fun dose of thrilling moments throughout the film.
an aspect about this Two Face that always got my attention is that they made him phisically very big and strong, they made him at least as big as batman so bigger than avarage characters shown in the series (only croc towers over him), officially Dent is only 6' tall but here he really looks over 6'2" with a very large frame as well, not to mention that he's damn strong and capable to knock down batman with ease just with his bare hands, don't know why this choice but I like it.

Then he has the accident and becomes a Dr. Jeryll and Mr. Hyde! I know some people might write him off as a petty criminal or thief BUT to me, he's just as dangerous as the Joker because he has split personalities AND you never know what he's going to do! And he did look better in Batman: The Animated Series.
as i remember it he got half of his face set on fire here it looks like he went (half?) insane.
To me, if you think of LEGO Batman Two Face in a realistic manor, he would look cool.
Cant agree more with you.
Two Face and the Joker are the best villains of Batman.
Episodes in the whole video was 'Sins of the Father,' 'Two-Face Part 1&2'and 'Judgment Day.'
Two-face is a very complex character if you ask me.
that's because joker was the most crazy and dangerous villian he always faced besides two face knows when to surrendur
The Joker would ensure a fun dose of thrilling moments throughout the film.
man it's been so long since i watched that animated show, I can't even recall what 'the accident' was. anyone remember?
hes my fav too him and his coin so cool
