I'm only 10 days in and I am finally beginning to start to see some positive things from it. The initial increased anxiety was almost a deal breaker for me, but I genuinely wanted to push through and give this drug a fair shake. I sincerely appreciate your insight and the detail. Your video is one of the best personal accounts for Lexapro on UA-cam. I'm happy and proud of you, life isn't easy, ESPECIALLY now a days. Good luck, I wish you further success.

I just started lexapro 3 weeks ago and today was the first time in a very long time (years) that I was able to just get up as soon as I woke up, & I wasn’t exhausted.. it was the first day in years that I didn’t feel that sense of doom I usually feel everyday that’s (obviously) very hard to navigate & deal with.. curious where you are now with your journey. Thanks for posting 🙏

Wow. I’ve had the ‘electric light floater’ vision thing. I know exactly what you are talking about. It never occurred to me that it might be lexapro. My experience, 2 yrs out is overwhelmingly positive. Sleep regulated, reduced anxiety. Over all it’s pretty mild. Still hard to get motivated to do a lot of tasks. I can get overwhelmed and don’t know where to start sometimes. Once I get moving I’m fine. I have had some sex issues. It’s not reduced drive or ability to get wood. It’s just really difficult to climax. I guess some guys might think this is a plus, but it’s kinda frustrating for me.

@@youregirlbecky7193 - hard to tell because depression presents like that too. I will say that it did take about a full month on it to really feel a benefit. I’m still on it and feeling fine. No side effects except those I felt ramping up that first month.

I've had issues with generalised anxiety my whole life (I'm 54 now), a couple of months ago I was going through a particularly bad episode of anxiety and had a few panic attacks which I've never had before. So I went and talked to a psychiatrist and she put me on me 10mg per day lexapro, well after 3 days taking lexapro my anxiety went higher than I've ever felt in my life before and I had a huge panic attack that lasted days, I couldn't eat or sleep or even think straight I basically felt terrified 24/7, after 5 days of this panic attack I just couldn't take it anymore I was getting suicidal it was so horrible, so I stopped taking the lexapro and the panic and anxiety faded away over the next 24 to 36 hours. I have no idea if it would have got better if I had of stuck with it and continued taking the lexapro but at the time it really didn't seem that was the case it felt like it was destroying my mind.

@@vratysanu Yeah I'm trying to find a med that works for me, after lexapro I tried Cymbalta that was even worse it made me feel totally crazy I couldn't even leave my home I only took it for 2 days. I'm now trying zoloft today is day 7 on 25mg, it's making me feel a bit weird, kind of hot and amped up, nauseous, and a bit more anxious than usual but nothing horrific, I'm going to stick with it and see how it goes, going to see my doc this afternoon to discuss whether I jump up to 50mg now or do another week on 25mg, I'm a bit nervous so I think I'll stay on 25 for another week to let the startup side effects settle some more.

I started on 5 mg 2 months ago. Then a couple of weeks later I was upped to 15 mg. At first I almost stopped because it triggered depression and crying but my anxiety/panic improved. So I kept taking it and she said I could take my xanax if I needed to. I did that and sometimes still need too. But my situation is, my husband died 2 days after testing positive for covid. So my grief, anxiety and panic were off the rails.

@@ashessmith8635 I can only speak for myself as this stuff affects people differently but, personally, I will never; ever go anywhere near ssris again. I was and still am dealing with a myriad of stresses that I won't go into now, and these "meds" made it ten times worse. I was on them for about 5-6 weeks in total; so you think the side effects would begin to wane a bit. Not in my case. I could deal with them turning me into a zombified eunuch; temporarily, you know, the usual stuff, but the dreams that plagued me every night, we're intolerable. I felt like I was losing my mind. They were so vivid and disturbing that I was literally afraid to sleep. Not to perturb anyone else, but that's been my journey.

I think when your depressed you may not have an appetite, some people may over eat when depressed. When I had anxiety & panic I just had no appetite at all. Then I feel that after taking antidepressants once you start feeling less depressed & no panic you may want to eat because you're happy & life is good. It just depends how it effects each individual .
