5 THINGS YOU MAY HAVE MISSED IN 2020 THE V85TT MANUAL
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- In this video we look deeper into the manual to learn:
How do the self canceling turn signals know when to turn off.
How to reset the shift/overspeed light so it didn’t flash every time you hit 5200 rpms?
How does the bike let you know there is a burned out turn signal?
How do you increase or decrease your cruise control by a few miles per hour without using the throttle?
Why you may have difficulty changing the riding mode while riding.

The print in the manual is so small I couldn't read it if I wanted to! Thanks, this helps.
Love this - I went out for my first ride with my brand new V85TT today - it was amazing - sending best wishes from sunny England
Thinking of buying one very soon, hows it going with yours?
@@geecee4746 I absolutely love it - I have done 500 miles and so just breaking it in - my first bike and I regret not getting one sooner. Feel free to ask anymore specific questions and good luck
@@thesmithsmaf hi, guess what, i done the deal today 😂😂😂will be getting her next week, took a test ride and fell for it straight away 😂😂😂
great i didnt know about these i shall be setting my guzzi up thanks mate
You can also cancel cruise control by rolling _forward_ on the throttle, i.e.past full closed.
Thank you! Just picked up a 2023.
Saves me looking up the manual...thanks.
This is the first of many V85 videos I've watched that addresses the question of whether the bike has self-cancelling turn signals. So thanks for that.
I try to remember that the things I dislike are often the thing others LIKE... You cannot make anything that is perfect to ALL.
I've just bought one and I find this video very helpfull. Thanks for sharing! Greetings from Spain!
Thank you for doing these videos. I just got a 2nd hand 2020 TT so this is very helpful.
Thanks brother for doing the reading I tend to avoid. Greats tips and greetings from a fellow #V85tt rider in El Salvador.
appreciate you watching . Safe travels my friend!
great explanation
stay safe
Informative and helpful! Thanks a bunch.
Cruise control speed can also be turned off by rolling forward on the throttle from the idol position while riding.
Correct and thanks for pointing that out.
OMG thank you
you are welcome!
Thank you.
Thank a lot!!!
I'm really not sure if mine has self cancelling signals, it's a 23 plate with led turn signals and no matter what I seem to do they don't self cancel 🤔
Very good video.. how about how to set up the clock video? Lol. The type in owners manual is very small. Hard for me to read it. Thanks & ride safe..
Hi, do you know if the USB port is powered on while the bike is off? Can I charge my phone overnight in a camping situation for example? Thanks!
According to the manual, the USB port is powered only when the ignition is on. It also notes that it charges at only 1A, sadly.
I even dind´t know about self canceling turn signals... Is standard or I have to turn it on in settings? THX
How can i let the night vision (black) in my instrument even during a a day light ? I mean all the time
Go into the settings menu… I run mine in black with no auto settings
Thanks for these tips! I just bought a new condition v85tt with 129 miles on it and riding it home from the shop I was confused on a lot of the possible functions of the many buttons, like the light buttons have two separate sets with 3 options each …. Not sure what is what with them . When I put the kick stand down the engine cuts off and I don’t like that! Can that be disabled? This weekend I plan to dedicate some quality time in both riding it and playing around with all the features. ✌️😁🇺🇸
Kickstand is a safety feature you can put it down only if you are in neutral. athats so you don't drive off with it down. there are daytime running lights and fog lights as well as high low beam. I'll mention these in the next video for more detail. thanks for watching!
@@americanguzziguy my other motorcycle is an ‘03 Harley Softail Deuce so now you may understand my confusion to all this new stuff 😜😁 thanks again!
@@mmm357m thanks for the response! I figured out the light switches, I guess having an Italian motorcycle has a learning curve 😜
I’m loving this bike and riding every chance I get . 😁
Great info, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Can the writing in the OM get any smaller????
Yes, it can, and gets smaller every year in mine!
Hello from Romania I started to watch your videos and I really like the narrationz really good and also the content. I curious what previous bikes you owned and how you'll rate this moto guzzi, the seat is confortabile? Have a great day, cheers.
Before my Guzzi, I owned a Honda CTX 700 and a few other Honda's and other Japanese brands. I love the style and reliability of the Guzzi. I don't think anyone could go wrong with one! I find the seat firm, but to my liking. Some have said it's too firm, but I guess that's personal preference. Thanks for the kind words.
@@americanguzziguy I really like the look of the guzzi, looks vintage and also modern and of course the shaft drive. Great Channel by the way.
My bike seems to be missing the ‘menu’ option - can’t get it to show at all 🤷
have you tried holding the mode button down a few seconds? Let me know if that don't work. It can be fiddly....correction hit the mode button quickly is what I meant. Sorry was in a cpr class and answered too quickly. Wingsgeo UA-cam channel just put out a video showing it check him out too.
How kan i reset de ecu for motoroil?
Seems you can use a diagnostic tool and software or take to the dealer. I'm going to cover this question in more detail in my next video. Thanks for watching
What does the manual say regarding the recommended gas octane level?
Thanks for watching, The manual doesn't really specify octane as far as I can tell, but does say no more than 10 percent ethanol and unleaded of course. I'm going to talk about fuel in my next video, still doing some research, hope you'll tune in. Thanks.
Chapter 3 "Use", "Refueling" in the manual, page 155 under "Characteristic" it says "Unleaded gasoline E10 (95 R.O.N.)", which I've found means that "95 RON is roughly equivalent to 91-octane on the anti-knock index currently used in the United States."
@@Nathaniel7420 You are correct thanks for clearing that up.
Actually as @nathaniel pointed out in the comments, the manual specifies E10, 95 R.O.N. which when averaged with the MON, you get 91 AKI (Anti Knock Index) which is what is in the pump in the USA. I answered your question too quick, thanks for the community to set me strait :)
For my third tank of gas I filled it with 89 ethanol free. I don't notice any difference. I'm going to stick with 91 though like MG says.
Has anyone riden a Breva 1100? is this bike like that?
The way they set up the Turn Signals isn’t conducive for Real World Application. It’s the MOST Stupidest way to have them run in that manner. The Engineers ought to be FIRED. YEP you can tell I’m a bit upset with em. And you can not reset them via an upgrade to the Bikes Computer, we are stuck with this Flaw.
Do you mean the auto canceling turn signals? I agree not very useful for real life, but I have never trusted auto cancel signals and always use them manually.
hmm, if your signal on a quarter mile before your turn (without stopping) seems like it should work pretty well.
There has been times in which I travel at least a half of a mile before it turns off. I’ve had owned other Brands of Motorcycles and their Self Canceling Turn Signals shut off after 150 feet. Which is perfect. If I don’t have any traffic behind me when making my turns.. I don’t use em. Too much of a Hassle.

Yeah, seems more like a safety backup feature version of auto cancellation since it's too long and too far since most of the time turn signal that early is too early. I'll take it over other solutions that aren't 100% reliable or systems that can cause issues.
My only experience with auto cancel that works is on a Harley. Pretty nice, keeps you in the flow. I think I just need better turn signal habits instead to keep me in flow on the Moto Guzzi.
What is this reading you speak of...
That was very helpful.Thank you.👍🏻
