"When you're good, you tell everyone. When you're great, people tell you"
That said, there's no real shortage of AEW fans telling folks how great the product is.
Walter Payton.
@@Lord_Bibulous yeah but pretty sure Walter was on Roids , all the evidence is there just not talked about
@Martin Alexander pre Vince departure they had fans. Triple H Era they didn't as much. But now Vince is back so the fans who left might come back
And now there so a bad impact and mlw is beating them in ratings
Eric in his old age knows what he fucked up on and what he did right in both WCW and TNA. The dude was giving Khan legit sage advice on how to avoid making the same mistakes he did, and TK's response was basically "fuck you LOL" it funny cause a lot of what Eric said would happen especially when it comes to their ratings and story, has come to past.
But it’s also like, where is this energy for anything else in wrestling? He had less to say about his time running WWE than he does AEW. It’s clear he’s doing what some other podcasters are doing trying to get clicks being a circle jerk for hating on AEW. Sometimes it feels genuine when someone like Jim Cornette does it. But for a guy like Bischoff and what he says he likes in wrestling current day, it makes no sense most of the time.
@@MrTambourineMan. these whataboutisms are so contrived and silly lol, let me simply his comment so you can understand
Eric Bischoff a guy who made mistakes was trying to stop Tony Khan from making those same mistakes.
He doesn't give the same energy to wwe because they have nothing to lose, they are at the top of the mountain.
@@1KQ_ exactly
@@MrTambourineMan. his time running WWE? Eric never ran anything in WWE unless you mean that short stint overseeing Smackdown a couple years ago which he HAS spoken on immediately after he was terminated.
Yeah, a real shame. Bischoff learned his lessons the hard way - he's a man Tony Khan should listen to very closely.
"Let the audience put you over" I don't always agree with Eric, but that is some gospel right there. Yes, celebrate your victories, but don't put yourself over, let us.... and for the love of God TK, hire a booker, Dustin is right there
As well as Jim Ross, Mark Henry, Tazz, Arn Anderson, Bryan Danielson, Paul Wight and Jerry Lynn. But Tony Khan is like, “I’ll book All of AEW and ROH, I got it.”
His booking has been incredible, what are you babbling about? I can tell most of the people in the comments haven't been watching very much recently.
@@Tcrror 🚨 Troll Alert 🚨 Comment made strictly to get attention. Sad Millennial. Nah probably a Gen Z derp.
@@andrewjacksonbr how do we know they are not part of creative?
@@The80sWolf_ Because Tony Khan said, “there is no booking committee, his door is always open and he listens to the wrestlers and agents. However it’s All BOOKED by him.!” Say what you want about Vince McMahon he at least had a team, Tony is doing this with “rotating advisors” aka his favorites. Cody, Regal, and CM Punk HATE politics in wrestling and Chris Jericho loves it there! Jade Cargill has even said she was told to use a chair on LiVE tv and was NEVER trained on how to do it, CM Punk (who’s not an agent) had to teach her. AEW is a mess, because Tony doesn’t have a team and very little is mandatory (like TRAINING)
“Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it”
This has aged like fine wine
Why would Tony Khan listen to the man who sunk TNA back in the day? He lost the Monday night wars and caused WCW to go bankrupt. Remind me again why Tony Khan should listen to him?
Hate him or love him Eric Bischoff is a smart dude
Smart dude who destroy two big companies and he almost kill the third one

@@abdallah.rremawe8096 TNGAYS
@Abdallah.R Remawe that's a Karen. Should be red flag enough
Eric is 100 percent right I've noticed what Tony khan was trying to do and it wasn't working which he has to drop the idea of the recreation of the Monday night wars. As Eric even said let the fans put you over, don't put yourself over. If you let the fans play as the power and influence then you'll be put over without knowing it.
Man he couldnt have said that any better (let the crowd get you over)
@The Baddestman you're really hurt aren't you?
Eric is trying save Tony from making the mistakes he made in WCW
It was not the product, talent, or competition that screwed up WCW. It was money management. Tony does a far better job at this than. Eric ever did. BTW Tony still takes shots at WWE.
Funny, cos if you listen to 83 weeks, he didn't make ANY mistakes!
@@imutau No. WCW refused to try new things after the NwO became popular... Not moving past the NwO and expanding upon them was extremely stupid in the long run
@@imutau umm it was all of those things my guy.
@@imutau Does a far better job? There's just as many guys on bloated contracts as their were in WCW.
I don't think Eric is exactly among the greatest minds of wrestling history, but he couldn't be more right here
He’s the only person to ever out compete Vince
@@FishJesus420🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
Obviously you don't know wrestling well.
WCW late 90’s
WWE mid 2000’s
Did you miss both of those campaigns? Hate him or love him he is one of the greatest minds in the business…🫡
You are nuts then. Who the hell else you put up there? Because to me it's Vince, Eric and Paul.
Eric wanted to make sure that Tony did not repeat the same mistakes Eric did with wcw .
Eric deserves to go in every promotion's Hall Of Fame because he is wat a general manager/Booker should be
U serious? This EBs burner account.
Dude killed 2 territory’s. Had 1 idea that he stole.
@@Jimmyd134 if you mean tna and wcw, i can see what you mean about tna but wcw was way more complicated and he was the one that made it as big in the 1st place
@@nappa1413I don't think he wanted to be in TNA in the first place.
He was right about TK. He said the same thing to TNA too.
Well cause he helped ruin TNA as well. Once Hogan, him, and the rest of the WCW guys came. It was over.
😂😂😂😂
@@Figs3to be fair to eric i think it was more hogan then anybody
@@mmlwuke6024 I believe it. Hogan is a cancer.
Kinda easy to be right about tna when he was the one spearheading their downfall
This industry is so amazing. Audience power determines the popularity of individual wrestlers, and whole companies. What Bischoff is describing applies to wrestlers to. Let other people get you over
If only he understood that earlier in the Monday Night Wars 😮
Hindsight is 20/20 y'know?
I think it's pretty bad that when they were battling nxt on Wednesday's and they were pulling between 800k to a mil, once nxt moved to Tuesdays aew's viewership didn't jump much at all
LoL give it time. Aew is doing everything right. The further WWE digs itself in the rabbit hole are can pick up the slack and build.
@Donnie Brasco I hope you're kidding cause they aren't and it's funny they've been falling since cody left.
@@donniebrasco1364 sure
@@donniebrasco1364and that's what bad with AEW. They only rely on the failures of WWE just to be over. Relying on toxic easily angered Hard Core Fans in the internet by review bomb the E. They should start by appealing to the mainstream, focus on their home grown talent and stop hiring Ex WWE guys.
@@kobediamantevlogs5608 they appeal to mainstream casual fans by showing more adult content, much less backstage politics. The bars I go to show aew wrestling not WWE. You can't get more mainstream than that.
always great to listen to this man
even a broken clock is right twice a day
He's right more than that.
Fun fact of the day Gills are feathery organs full of blood vessels. A fish breathes by taking water into its mouth and forcing it out through the gill passages. As water passes over the thin walls of the gills, dissolved oxygen moves into the blood and travels to the fish's cells.

Eric made the Monday Night Wars and changed wrestling forever.
He also made every single mistake and misstep a guy could in his position.
I don’t know if Eric would do it, but if I was TK, I would bring him on as a personal consultant who answers only to TK.
Eric knows his stuff.
I scream this
From day one and that press conference in a parking lot that Tony likes to reference, he said aew wouldn’t be the promotion to mention the wwe for cheap responses
Now four years later here we are
WWE ain't even worth mentioning. The company is a shell of its former self
Eric is right he knows first hand how to build a company up and what will lose you the company
Oh no he don’t. Wcw a prelude of jcp of the nwa. When he was awa he killed them quicker then i can kill a mosquito. He took old wwf stars and went to war while wwf was developing new stars and beat them real bad. He had austin and fired him while he was us champ and that was the main guy who helped put wcw out of business.
@@carltonpadgett6848 What? He was an announcer at AWA. Vern killed AWA.
@@carltonpadgett6848wcw was dead until bischoff took over later hogan came in
@@PGTRegard Eric was a announcer at the Awa between 88-90
@@dominiclowe3640 Wcw wasn’t died at all. When they brought Hogan in that’s when the company starting failing. Sure I’ll say a 1 or 2yrs of success but the rest of those years hogan wasn’t drawing at all. Wcw was steady and good before those two came in and took it.
Love how this is getting recommended today with the recent drama
The audience got a different WWE through covid surprisingly
Saying these things from experience... 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
There’s no one more better to speak on this topic than Eric. But maybe to tony’s defense, he’s still young and will make these bravado type mistakes. So was Eric at his age. But it’s always good to learn from those before you.
Not that I hate him not that I like him, but this is probably one of the wisest things I’ve heard Eric say
Bischoff is taking FACTS
It's crazy to think that aew is now in the wcw 2000 era such a shame
Eric Bischoff knows his stufg
Eric Bishoff is one of the greats in wrestling biz. The experiences he's had are wild and some of the most interesting tales to hear. His advice is sacred and strictly experience based. Glad to see Eric doing great
I respect that take from Bishoff
Eric is 100% right
they had it for about 3 months when punk showed up and they blew it
For the first time i totally agree with this guy 👍
(Gave the fans what they want and make them create that moment)
"I leaned this from my mistakes at TNA"
I personally liked the back and forth / sly comments . It would always be like a "ooooooo, I can't believe they went there" moment. And it was the wrestlers doing that, not the company or Tony. He let's the talent shoot their own promos for better or for worse. And I prefer that tbh. Everyone in wwe sounds about the same. Theres a few guys in wwe that get chances to show what they got on the mic, but very few.
Bischoff is the man
I watch NWA... and I don't recall them ever comparing their product directly to anyone else. Corgan has said that we aim for a "stiffer" more realistic look. Other than that, they've been respectful and willing to work with other organizations.
Wish he would have done that on TNA
Except him flair and Hogan tried to turn it into WCW and tried to go head to head w raw and they got killed
I like how everyone is praising Bischoff and looking towards him for his insight in the business. But we credit him to the failure and downfall of 2 major companies, WCW and TNA.
What i like about Eric is the fact that he know that he made some huge mistakes and he has balls to admit so. AEW is not in a good place right now but i wish only the best for the company because competition is and always was a good thing.
I agree 100% with EB. If only TK could convince Eric to be an adviser of sorts when it comes to certain aspects. Bischoff has been down the road and knows what will work and what won't when it comes to operating across from another huge company. TK needs to LISTEN AND ABSORB what is said instead of being a 12 year old kid who was told his shits no good😂
Thats a really good picture of TK, 😂❤
If Kahn would’ve listened to Eric things would be better
It was lit with LE CHAMPION!!!
All these people telling Tony what to do don't get it. AEW is successful, so what he is doing is working. Period.
He learned his lesson. There's so much wisdom that Tony could take from this but refuses to listen.
Say what you want about Bischoff… but he’s 100% correct here
and to this day AEW is SILL taking pot shots at wwe
it was cute in the beginning but it's just sad and desperate now
even the die hard aew fans are sick of it
Boo hoo 😭 bro I barely ever notice any "pot shots" at WWE or rarely see anyone even talking about any...I think you're just way too sensitive

Very well put
Eric is not to be trusted he's a WWE guy. He always has some critique that seems to down anything that doesn't involve him in wrestling.
True thats what happened with Total Impact Wrestiling also
Wise words mr Bischoff
Eric's advice is legit cause he's been there done that and learned from it.
I don't often agree with Eric I think he is still often too arrogant, but he was right saying Let the audience put you over.
I never really know how to feel about EB, but I think he is completely right on this point at least.
That's the thing. Do things that are praiseworthy, and let others praise you for it. It is a maximum that works to scale.
If you are your own biggest cheerleader, you can't hear what other people actually think of you, and you can't adjust.
If there anyone to listen to about not screwing up a promotion! It Eric!
I don't always agree with the guy, but there's no arguing anything he just said there.
Nd these is why this Guy is a legend
The Nostradamus of wrestling
but the AEW audience is a hopeless case ... They were the ones who booed Cody out of the company and didn't want Punk to return
This is one of the cases of don't do what I did but take the advice I'm giving you now because I messed up when I did what you're doing
Best WRESTLING Company on the planet since 2019...and don't worry it will be FFFFFFFFFFOR LIFE 🤘
Says 1 million things about AEW....2 come true: Bischoff "I told you. I told you. What I say? I told you."
He did in facthave Vince for 83 Weeks, so Eric know what he talks of
Eric you did that shit back in the 90’s.
The whole point of the interview was to warn TK about doing the same mistakes Eric made back in the 90s.
I don't hate Bischoff but he's made his entire career on 83 weeks. To this day. So kettle, meet pot.
I'm not going to lie fresh cut clean Tony Khan then I thought was a genius now with a full set of hair I think he a goof
This is fine wines 😂
Man that's what everyone has been saying the pot shots were like every week then every other week then there is a reference to wwe every week damn near
Eric is right 💯👍🏽
Tony Khan manages AEW like a kid plays with wrestling toys, nothing more : "oh mom bought me CM punk, i will give the title to punk", "oh you bought me Daniel Bryan, ok i will give him the title, yeahhh too cool"
It's funny cuz WWE created the competition. WWE moved their content up against and then away from Tony's after he soundly trounced them. That's what got AEW over, the competition came to them, not the other way around.
He would need cena and or roman to come to aew for it to even be talked about on a wwe level. Like hogan in wcw.
Something I agree with Bischoff on.
Says the man who casually gave up competition's results to make sure people don't tune that show in.
The crazy thing is at first, people in the business wanted AEW to be successful and offered VALUABLE constructive criticisms. But TK & AEW would rather get offensed and act like their product is perfect than improve said product.
Wow this is one of the few times where i actually agree with him. He’s definitely not wrong
At the end of the day, audiences and fans are what keeps the world running.
Preach
I don't agree with everything Eric says but this is right on point. AEW was a great product in the beginning. Everything felt fresh and new. Stuff happened though lol
Spot on, the things in the beginning like when Cody used a sledgehammer to destroy that Triple H throne or when Brodie Lee was imitating Vince McMahon, it just makes AEW look so petty
I hate it when I agree with Eric Bischoff. He's so right.
He knows the business pretty well.
I was so bummed the first time I watched WWE. I was an attitude era kid, and was super excited for a new "Monday night war." Once I saw the actual product, I thought "Nah, it's just hype. So substance here."
What Aew needs to do is giving paulie dangerously a job and give him creative control
I don’t agree with a lot of what he says but he’s 100% correct
Hate or love he knows about the business maybe not financial management but
Actually WWE took the shot when they moved NXT head to head and got bounced to Tuesdays and had to rebrand. Vince talked very bad about AEW to share holders calling them blood and guts mud show, and Triple H called them a piss ant Tshirt company
Last time I checked, the first shot was when AEW booked Cody to destroy a throne with a sledgehammer
I don’t know why Tony disregarded this man’s advice, he actually went head to head against the WWE. Of course he’d know more about this shit than Tony.
They just need to grow and focus on themselves.
What’s does Eric know exactly he killed WCW and TNA?
I don't always agree with Eric but ill give him this one he's on the money
oh eric learned , why wasn't this his psychology in 1997 ?
Holy crap that flash of Tony from when AEW started is like a different guy. He's got a touch of GQ style going on, looking like someone dressed him in a suit that fits, a little product in his recently cut hair, freshly shaved. I totally forgot there was a time before he had stimulants for every meal. It's kind of a good allegory for the direction his company's gone. I will pretend to wonder why.
"Nobody is wiser than the man who failed a million times, especially not the man who happened to succeed once."
Edit: I'm obviously not saying Bischoff failed a million times, it's just a nice quote that I thought was perfect considering the situation. Back when he was criticizing AEW last year, people didn't listen because Eric had failed in TNA and WCW. Now I hope they see that his experience was speaking for him and he was right all along
Tony is literally trying to recreate Monday night wars, cause when that happened he was a teenager and he wants to experience that glorious era again as an adult. It's also funny that a billionaires kid is more obsessed with nostalgia when he can live life to the fullest. Nostalgia is for folks like us, middle class dude
Now hold on for a minute. We all who lived through the Monday night wars also wanted that same experience with aew but the reasoning that's not happening now is because Tony Khan made some mistakes and did not act like a true boss. That first mistake was letting Cody Rhodes go, the second mistake was letting CM punk do whatever he want and not acting like his boss third mistake is not acting like a boss and staying off camera. If he would have done the opposite that what he's doing right now I think aew would have been in a better place right now
Well said
If you are in the same industry, delivering the same product and catering to the same audience, it doesn't matter if you are going head to head with the other company or not -- you are in a competition.
