You don't need to be apologetic at all, your reviews are great and we're all aware of the effort and time you put into creating your videos. Thank you for your honesty and keep up the great work!
Strange fluffy people commenting. Pal2tech needs to learn how to test cameras, cos he barely has a clue. Edvards video on AF testing is a great place to start.
I have learned so much from your videos. I have never, not even for a moment, doubted your commitment to your work and I appreciate the time and effort it takes to share your skills and knowledge. I'm not looking for flaws, I have more than enough of my own to dwell on. Your videos are unparalleled. Thank you for everything you do. Cheers.
I'd rather have a proper, well-informed review late, than another launch date video that you can't trust. You are definitely my trusted source on Fuji gear.
I was a Nikon user for decades before moving to Sony, but I bought a little Fuji X30 and loved that camera. Eventually, I traded all my sony gear for Fuji, and now enjoy the X-T5. But because of the broad range of options offered by a Fuji camera, I needed to be better educated. That's where your channel became a life-saver. I can only imagine the amount of work that is involved in making these videos, and I know I am one among thousands who appreciate your lucid explanations. Thanks!!
Your reviews - and this recent one in particular - are the best: thorough, honest, and incredibly helpful. Good things are worth waiting for! You're an great teacher and your passion is inspiring. Thank you so much for your channel - I just got my first Fujifilm (X-T5) in July and I keep returning to your channel to watch and re-watch your videos.
Good on you for making this. I’m a big fan and long time subscriber to Pal2Tech, but I did find Edvard’s video funny. Honestly I think he’s doing us all a favour by being so vocal about weaknesses of Fuji autofocus. Many of us long-time Fuji users (myself included) have been too accepting of the status quo. Thanks for being transparent about the way you work with Fuji and thanks for all the great content, humour, enthusiasm and positivity.
Always appreciate you my friend. Another class video. I don't think I have ever watched one of your videos and not been entertained. It is always insightful. You are part of what makes being in the fujifilm system so fantastic and that is the wonderful community that surrounds them. Looking forward to the next one and hope you have a great week.
Much like Gerald Undone has discussed; this never ending cycle of camera releases, tight deadlines and youtube algorithms quickly becomes unsustainable. As a viewer who watches too many of these videos, I’d fully understand and respect you saying “I only had ____ days to test this camera. These are my initial thoughts. Full review later.” It’s impractical to expect anything more than that given the circumstances.
You don't need to apologize for anything. You are a great instructor/teacher and you are always my go to channel when I want to figure something out with my X-T2 and X-H2 cameras (and lenses). Keep up the good work. You're the best.
I’ve grown exponentially because of your channel & I sincerely appreciate the work you’ve done! I started on a Rebel T7 & went to the XT-3. Now I have the XH-2 and it’s great!
I've just sold my XT4 and advertising my lenses as just moved across to full frame. It was great watching your videos and I learnt a lot. Good luck my friend
I’ve watched your videos for… IDK, 3 or so years? I really like your channel. Your videos are informative, well made, and just fun. THIS one is probably the most interesting one I’ve seen. Thanks!
We are all still waiting for a firmware auto-focus fix on our X-T5, X-H2 and X-H2s. I can't even think about the new X-M5 camera until Fuji comes through with an auto-focus improvement on these cameras.
Me too. I took a tonne of photos of my son yesterday, the amount of almost in focus shots I got is unbelievable - a toddler doesn’t move fast and my h2s just keeps missing the eye.
That's why I prefer second/third older hardware in the release line - you have it cheaper and with polished software, while still being relatively actual. This strategy seems to apply to cameras perfectly 😊
I hope you are making great money busting your butt trying your best to be impartial. Best videos ever. I got a xt30 because of you after leaving photography 20 years ago and now a xs20. My daughter is thinking of film school now because of your influence. Chat up Naily at the Verge, a becon of truth in publishing, you two might be related. All the best to you and yours.
So knowing the designer of a feature encourages you to criticize it, if necessary, respectfully. Sounds like you’re a decent human being! I watch your videos regularly and find them well put together and informative-thanks!
Found your channel when I first got into the Fuji system (Xt20), and just bought thr XT5 and first thing I did, was go back to your vids. Please continue what you do. You are a big help to us noobs.
You're amazing, and so is your channel, Chris! I've learned a lot from you, and I know I will continue to. Appreciate your honesty, transparency, and work ethic. Pal2Tech is the first place I go for info when I have a question about Fujifilm gear.
Don't beat yourself up Buddy. Like everyone else who watches your videos (and follows your channel) I've learned a huge amount from the work you do and I appreciate the effort you put into your reviews and educational films. Don't stop!
I absolutely love how genuine and honest you are in this video. You provided very useful behind the scenes information too! Keeping up with content is a lot of work! It is clear that what you are doing is valuable. Please, keep it up! love you videos
I follow your channel because of the orientation (fuji film) and the complete clarity of your communication. I learnt a lot from your videos over the years. While saying this i really appreciate your honesty in making this video. Please continue the great work.
Hey Chris, Don't beat yourself up. I moved to Fujifilm ~1 year ago and your videos were how I learnt to use my new Fujifilm gear. Keep doing what you do!! Thanks
I like your review just the way it is! You can't do everything at once to please everybody! Thank you for all your hard work, effort & time to put up these great vids!
I'm looking forward to your Firmware 7.1 update; And as of yesterday, I can state the CAF, tracking, AF stickiness, on birds in flight, or diving down towards me, is superb. It's a hugely noticeable improvement. I love it on my XH2s and 150-600mm lens. It's crazy good now for wildlife!
One of your real strengths, Chris, is the wide variety of things you present on your channel. This has been an excellent video and I continue to look forward eagerly to every fresh release from you. And I definitely look to you when I get stuck for how to use any part or operating method, of my Fuji camera.
Hi, I actually think this is one of my favorites of your videos that I have watched. It was really interesting to learn about your creative process and the changes/improvements you made along the way. Plus, since I am not as experienced as you, I appreciated hearing that even the pros go through ups and downs in the creative process. Take Care and thanks for sharing!
Your channel has been a great teaching hub as well as the best channel to truly understand some of the quirks (as in the Menus, placement and design of certain features) with Fujifilm cameras. I read my manuals and you find out and teach us things that are unknown or not well explained. I still love my X-T3 and plan to stay on board with Fuji because of your help. Thanks Chris
I am glad you teach us about my favorite camera, Fujifilm camera. I don’t know if someone said something negative to you, but trust me, we love your UA-cam videos! Keep up the great work!!!
I have always been interested in photography (macro, especially invertebrates) for the purpose of species identification, but have never gotten a camera before because I simply found the learning curve to high. Then I found one of your videos about/with the X-T3 or X-T4 and it completely changed. The way you explained everything in combination with ISO, shutter speed etc. not being hidden in some menu on these cameras just made everything so much more intuitive. I have just bought the X-T5 not even a full week ago and I love it so far. Your videos have been and continue to be very helpful.
Hey pal2tech. We're behind you all the way! All the people bashing Fujifilm is just right for doing so, but to trash other creators like you and telling them that you don't know what you're doing is just plain wrong. We know what you're about. Don't mind that guy "edvard." It's easy to try say shi**y things about another creator, but to create something meaningful is WAY HARDER. That's what you have with us!
Pal2tech was one of my first insights into photography. I’ve since moved on to Sony full frame cameras but your channel helped me figure out my camera in the early days and made me feel excited to own a Fuji camera. Now I don’t know what’s happened that’s made you feel like you have had to explain yourself but keep making people feel excited to own their cameras!
85 thousand views and counting on the X-M5 review gotta expect a few people not happy with it, I for one am not one of them. Thanks for the reviews and thanks so much for your teaching. Your channel rocks and I am time ang again coming back to your stuff to learn again....Super glad you are doing this great channel keep doing what you want to do and try to ignore the nay-sayers (Easier said than done I expect). Keep the channel yours and do things that make you happy, a happy Pal makes me a happy pal. Good job.
Your reviews are always so much better than the other channels 'on the day' offerings Chris. I love your work! Go boldly forward, no regrets, no apologies!!
Thank you for your honest report on your work and the difficulties that sometimes arise in doing so. I am German with O.K.-ish English skills but I am not a native speaker, but I can easily follow your vlogs without subtext, my very big thanks. And - of course - afterwards you are very often wiser than before a work process, I'm sure many will understand this, for the others, so what? Please keep up your good work, your vlogs are always an important highlight.
love your channel. i think you’ve just out grown fujifilm and hope your explore other tech and other brands. fujifilm is holding your back. #blurryfilm
No apologies needed, still love the channel just because of you Fujifilm is only the second part that is important!!! Keep up the fun and great work!!!
So nice to see that there are still a few (including you of course) folks out there that still know and appreciate how inter-human communication should be! It's not the topic, it's the way how to talk about things ! A dial might 'suck' but that is no reason to insult the person(s) involved in the design, pre-production, production etc. of that part of a piece of gear. But, as we all know the interwebs are jsut a different kind of space these days. My personal reaction to that is: I only watch and inform myself via channels where people I would personally invite to my home are behind the wheel. That being said, thanks for all the effort and time and human touch you put in your videos!
To be really honest I see and follow your channel for the quality and depth of the info. The videos are OK quality, not the best in visual or editing terms, but have enough visual quality and like I said, true and valuable info and know how. So congrats. I didn't see the video of the "new user" but seeing some bits here just confirm what I think from the actual camera market. They all gonna die for the daily user without experience and background of camera use. People will rather pick up the smartphone and do it more easily, faster and cheaper (they already have it). Cameras even with the status of being simple they are very complicated for a casual user.
Your videos are simply the best. Any manufacturer should be kissing you. Without you I wouldn't have got a Fujifilm camera, let alone know how the hell to use it. You are an asset to them. Regardless if you're getting paid or not we love and need you matey. They don't show us how to use their equipment. You do. In plain English. ❤
Chris, you are the reason we own Fuji cameras and we love them and one of my desires is to acknowledge and respect your work and teaching ..You are valued, bro. To Fuji we want them to do better and we know they can. The XT2 got 4k before one would have thought and today we have the XT5 surely there have to be tremendous improvements.
First I'd like to say that you add incredible value to the community. Thanks for that. Secondly, I work in the trade and before this, I worked in the cycling industry doing advertising sales so I can 100% relate to "getting close to a brand" and how that changes things - even when you are 100% focused on being neutral. Getting to know people, chatting with designers, and understanding things on a deeper level does change things. It "warms" you up to a brand. It happens. You will never out-argue the web, just stay true to yourself and enjoy and appreciate the fact that you have grown closer to the FF crew. Then as someone who creates content, quite often on the fly: I 100% get how something that seems so obvious and straightforward post-fact is not always that easy to spot when you're pushed for time. I had the X-M5 for a couple of hours myself and was pushed to do a bunch of stuff. Thankfully not all of it is content for the masses. But it does mean that you have to pick your battles and box clever. That won't change anytime soon - especially with all of us wanting to know IN DEPTH how something performs for each and every individual's use case the second it gets announced. Some of it is overstated and growing to be less important. I think being first is losing its shine as quite often it means the actual content lacks depth. So if anything, get something out, but then take your time with you being you. That's what people are here for, not the clickbaity stuff going on. (As an example: for the foreseeable future NO video on Fujifilm's AF can be done in haste. There is simply too much to test for both video and stills.) Have a lekker day, and thanks again for all the killer content.
I think you’re the best. Unlike Fujifilm’s AF. Thank you, it’s a joy to listen to your work and all the effort you put in to educate a lot of ppl. You’re like a free ad for Fujifilm. I’m sure they’re absolutely happy with channels like yours.
I’ve been watching your videos for the a couple of years now and I didn’t even have a Fuji camera, that is until two weeks ago when I got my first! All because of how good and thorough you’re reviews are, I had such a FOMO 😂 Appreciate all the hard work you do.
I loved this video even though I hadn’t seen the video you were talking about. I loved the natural speaking style and tone. And mostly I liked the set.Great colors and I was never bored.Lots to look at as I listened. Somehow your jacket was fantastic. I have 3 Fujifilm cameras and am not in the market for another at the moment, but I stay subscribed to your great channel.
Another great video. I hope you are able to get as many amazing opportunities with Fujifilm as possible. You've earned it. I learn so much from your videos and you're one of the best people to watch for camera info, regardless of the topic. Great job!!!
Thanks for the background information Chris ... I always appreciate your analysis... and after a deadline for a thorough review is always worth waiting for... as always Chris... the video was helpful and entertaining 🙂
It is true that I have started watching your channel as a Fuji X-T30 user, and indeed, there is some Fuji factor in these videos. But they have always been just pragmatic, I could never see anything that would tell me "this guy promotes Fujifilm cameras". And I am always cautious about that. Sure, you do have some inclination towards these cameras, but who hasn't, they are just remarkable. Anyway, I have since changed my camera to a Sony A7CII, as Fujifilm doesn't make a full frame, and should I want to stay with FF, I would have to go for the medium format instead. And I still find these videos inspiring. So don't worry, and just keep doing the great work you have always been doing.
As always Chris you’re a fantastic teacher of everything Fuji the fact that you tried to cover so much and even compare it with the XT5 shows in bundles how much you care about your audience and Fuji family that are struggling with this autofocus issue. As always many thanks 😍📷👍
Look this is good content. I did not watch the review and i dont plan on buying a camara for another 5 years at least. I am glad you can speak about issues openly and we hear you. We have the whole of the internet to look for more "accurate" reviews. And i do so everytime. I come here bc you are a good person and you helped me learn about my xt4 and about pbotography as a whole. Thanks.
Love you videos i think theyre informative and your a pretty humble guy! I think all your videos are excellent. I have viewed so many UA-cam channels and so many reviewers are caught up on bagging gear etc especially around the Fuji auto focus. But i no longer watch their channels because it takes a credible person not the bag out gear and to share their knowledge and expertise. At the end of the day, a camera is similar to cars. There are many brands and models and people have different requirements and preferences. It’s what we do with that camera or car that makes the difference i.e. as a proffessional photographer how do you work around your cameras auto focus update? Rather than complaining an bag about it show that your capable to still take professional quality photo ghee it wasnt that long ago that cameras didnt have ait focus and now it seems to be the end of the world. Keep up the great work👍🏽kudos! Just like cars there is no perfect model as soon as we think we have something close to it a different model will come out and replace it!
"Dear Chris, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your guidance and support since I purchased my Fuji XT4 a year ago. It has been a pleasure getting to know you and learning more about my camera with your help. Thank you for your continued kindness and support. We will always appreciate it."
Hey Chris I don't think you could be more upfront about your relationship with Fujifilm. I enjoy your enthusiasm (never apologise for it) and the balanced way you call out pro’s and cons rather than the extremes that some channels go to if there's an issue. Perspective is important and despite your ebullience you always bring that.
It unmistakably shows your passion and dedication to this channel, regardless of the brand in the content you make. In any case, Fujifilm should give you an equity package. 😉
Awesome explanation of your relationship with Fujifilm folks and where biases can color your tone/reviews. I will continue to look forward to your future content. I like the percentage of your channel content is Fujifilm related as I am currently all-in with the Fujifilm Series-X system. I figure if your content starts to move away from Fujifilm, it'll probably for similar reasons i would also have to consider switching away from fujifilm (hopefully fujifilm corp keeps innovating and remain competitive so this does not happen anytime soon)...
Wait..! Did you just spill the beans on the "special" Diffuser move that many of use use?? Chris, I will never forgive you for this betrayal!!! 😅 What a great video as always! Full of insights, but most importantly: transparency. That is what we the audience love - that, and the high level of value you provide through this channel. I bet ya that reshoot stung a little, lol. Those are never fun - I been there, and I hate when that happens. Either way, that little clip looks amazing - you are definitely not the one to ever run out of creative things to do in a video, and we love it! Keep them coming!!
I am another Fujifilm obses...ehm enthusiast. But without your videos helping me understand and use the Fuji gear I think I would have sold everything after a couple of months and moved to a different system. Please keep up your amazing work!
Great discussion. Anthropologists and other field workers discuss the sort of issues you raised about how knowing and liking the people you are reporting about shapes how you write. There’s no value in pretending it doesn’t arise and affects others’ perception of your objectivity, so the practice of disclosing the relationship so the viewer can judge is necessary. And then you add other checks and safeguards so you can show the evidence behind your judgments. That adds time but also adds value. Someone just holding up a camera and reading spec sheets or marketing blather is quicker to market but once they show themselves to be like that they lose my consideration as a go-to source. I don’t need an algorithm to tell me that if there is a happening in Fuji you will address it and I will want to get your take. As a creator when I was listening to your making of narrative I thought of the importance of planning and of scope. My initial ideas are to provide “everything” so I need to spend time as soon as I can sorting out what will and won’t be reasonable if I am to get something out the door. I was reminded of Chris and Jordan who have and communicate clear boundaries about what they will and won’t test until they have the real camera in their hands. And a good title sets the expectation for the content. Unboxing isn’t a word that means much to me, given how pathetic some of those videos can be, but “test” and the like set an expectation of more meat on the bone. But if you’re Christopher Frost you just know what you are going to get and he doesn’t need to snag me with word choice. Well, them’s me thoughts. Take care!
If you're in contact with Fujifilm staff, please tell them that - in addition to improved AF - users are asking for a 65:24 crop mode on their (high resolution) X series cameras just like on their GFX series cameras.
I have been a subscriber to your channel since 2022 (or maybe earlier), and I have hardly (or never) commented (sorry) because your videos are almost always spot-on, and I have been of a mind to not want to add to the amount of comments that you need to review or respond to. I just didn’t want to add to the amount of work you have to do. But for this video, let me just tell you that you do not need to explain yourself to us, your subscribers/audience. Though, we appreciate it anyway. As a Fujifilm fan myself, I understand the bias toward wanting to just focus on Fujifilm, and I understand the challenge of needing to get content out on time. Just keep your content as sincere as you always have, because that’s why we subscribed in the first place. FYI: The way you handle your cameras and accessories tend to stress me out (and sometimes upsets me) but I still watch your videos anyway. 😂 That’s how much subscribers like me appreciate your content. 😊
Your channel has been absolutely pivotal in my re-engagement with photography. You are my ‘go to’ in deciding and learning. Fujifilm can thank you for $6k of camera and lens from this little bunny. 🤣
You don't need to be apologetic at all, your reviews are great and we're all aware of the effort and time you put into creating your videos. Thank you for your honesty and keep up the great work!
they are not, his test show the camera out of focus and he still says AF is good

Great video, as always. Keep up the good work and thanks a lot!!!
#blurryfilm
Your videos have made a huge difference to my photography. You are also refreshingly honest. Lots of lessons for us in this video.
Outstanding video. Your personality comes thru and is delightful.
Hey Chris, I think you're doing a super great job and teaching us how to use our cameras! Keep up the good work!!
You’re doing a great job and your videos are awesome! Keep doing more, love it!
I love how you do these videos and these keeps me well informed. More to come!
You’re amazing, Chris. I’ve learned so much watching your channel. You have integrity.
There is simply too much to test for both video and stills.)
Have a lekker day, and thanks again for all the killer content.
I think you’re the best. Unlike Fujifilm’s AF. Thank you, it’s a joy to listen to your work and all the effort you put in to educate a lot of ppl. You’re like a free ad for Fujifilm. I’m sure they’re absolutely happy with channels like yours.
I watch pal2tech because:
1. Chris
2. Fujifilm
Keep up the excellent entertainment review, Chris!
Who is Chris? I know Pal
I loved the video! Power of hindsight can certainly be dangerous - be proud of yourself!
I always look forward to your videos and thanks to you ... I had a much greater understanding of my XT3 and XH1 ... a grateful Canadian subscriber :-)
You are one of the reasons i keep finding stuff to love about cameras.
Another fantastic video! I’ve been a Fujifilm guy for years - XF10 was my first. Thanks for the video!!
I’ve been watching your videos for the a couple of years now and I didn’t even have a Fuji camera, that is until two weeks ago when I got my first! All because of how good and thorough you’re reviews are, I had such a FOMO 😂
Appreciate all the hard work you do.
You're always entertaining and a straight shooter!
As usual your so amazing, I love your videos all done with passion. Thank you so much...
Chris, you are an absolute gentleman. Thank you for your insights and honesty.
Your honesty is just much appreciated. The videos you have made are quality and decision dependent. And that's okay ❤
Keep at your work! :)
Another great video. I hope you are able to get as many amazing opportunities with Fujifilm as possible. You've earned it. I learn so much from your videos and you're one of the best people to watch for camera info, regardless of the topic. Great job!!!
Great to hear about the behind the scenes. Thanks for sharing and keep the great work we all appreciate so much.
As always many thanks 😍📷👍
you've been so helpful in me learning how to better use my fuji!
Chris, no apologies necessary. Always entertaining. Always educational. Always honest. That's a lot of "always'es" Keep up whatever you are doing.
Thanks.
All viewers can expect is transparency and honesty in the reviews created
Everything I know about my XT three, I learned from you. Thank you for all you do.
Appreciate you treating people like people. Please continue
"Dear Chris,
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your guidance and support since I purchased my Fuji XT4 a year ago. It has been a pleasure getting to know you and learning more about my camera with your help. Thank you for your continued kindness and support. We will always appreciate it."
Thank you for giving us some insight on what’s going on behind the scenes. Very interesting
I am a Olympus user from Fujifilm, I really wish I could find channel which can provide so nice Videos for Olympus or Panasonic m43 system.
Love you dude, you are too hard on yourself.
You’ve made my tradition to Fuji so much easier. Thank you for that!
you are the best!! Really enjoy all your content. 🙏☺
Wait..! Did you just spill the beans on the "special" Diffuser move that many of use use?? Chris, I will never forgive you for this betrayal!!! 😅
What a great video as always!
And I ask for full flash support in all the bracketing modes.
We love your content and your approach in Ten Sleep, WY. Thank you sir.
That’s how much subscribers like me appreciate your content. 😊
Your channel has been absolutely pivotal in my re-engagement with photography. You are my ‘go to’ in deciding and learning. Fujifilm can thank you for $6k of camera and lens from this little bunny. 🤣
