I had to reupload the video after some editing, the old on is Unlisted (I probably sad privet in this video but its Unlisted) but if you have the link it still works. The problem was that I mixed up VESA 1.0 and the games "Screen Buffer" mode that I actually ran when we did not use VESA 2.0. The results and benchmarks are the same so if that's all you where interested in then that did not change. But I made sure to edit it to represent what mode I was actually running so people dont get the wrong information.
Hello, what is screen buffer? It is that "fastvid" utility from Philscomputerlab benchmark set? Or is it linear buffering? So all you have to do, is load UniVBE to get 2.0, and you'll get FPS on the right? It's better than fastvid? Does have UniVBE Linear buffering and real bank switching mode, on by default?

Screen Buffer is what the default mode is called in the Duke Nukem 3D config file, you get that if you select Normal Mode in the setup video option menu. So the two to the left dont use VESA and the two to the right use VESA 2.0 because it also supports 320x200 (Vesa 1.x dont). So running VESA 2.0 @ 320x200 is faster then not using VESA. So selecting VESA 2.0 in the game at 320x200 is faster if your card supports VESA 2.0, if not loading a Vesa Bios Extension will solve that. Univbe works well wit hits wide support, there are other extensions, some specific to a card or manufacturer and they can be even faster when I tested. There are threads on Vogons wit a lot of extensions you could try. www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=15190
