I wish people like her get to debate legends like Scorsese and Coppola who seem to believe that audiences just love the big franchise films these days. Scorsese doesn't comprehend just how big an impact streaming services have had, he just looks at it from an artistic perspective not a financial. In America today we're expected to pay for HBO, Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, Apple TV, Hulu, etc. It's way too much content at crazy prices which are only going to increase
@@sagutxo82 The stars are not behind the rising ticket prices. Hollywood superstars have always been ridiculously expensive. Not sure if it's just me that got this feeling, but around 22:00 when Renee is speaking to Scarlett, I got the sense that Scarlett felt very seen and validated by Renee on a deep level, almost like she was about to cry. yup. we could see scarlett's eyes start to water but she stopped herself from crying by smiling it out. i teared up around there. not only because scarlett was hearing such a compliment from veteran actress speaking to her directly about her talent but also that renee's tone was so gentle and comforting, and we can feel truly she 1,000% means what she was saying. that wasn't saying something just to be nice, but that she really did see scarlett's work throughout the years and really believed in her early on

Scarlett talking about how the industry oversexualized her rings so true. She's only a year and an half older than me and I remember thinking she was so much older back then because of how she was presented to us. She went from being a kid to being a sexpot almost overnight. She was a teenager in the late 90s, early 2000s and people tend to forget that. I think it's amazing and beautiful how she managed to avoid being typecast for the rest of her life.
@Nestor El demente: She was a child actress with plenty success before she became so obviously gorgeous. The film industry then kept giving her roles emphasising her looks, but her talent has still shown through. She never was a one dimensional bimbo in her roles, she gave depth to her characters.

This was stated perfectly! It felt so cringey when she attempted to compare performing as a music artist to Scarlett doing theater. She is truly out of her element with these women and it shows.
You are being too nice. We all know that Plein is garbage masquerading as designer by adding an expensive price tag. Look at the buyers as fraudulent as the designer. It's frustrating how very little Awkwafina there is in this. I would have loved to hear her thoughts on acting in two different languages and shooting in China and how being in that environment informed her acting. The facilitator was just not that interested in her, there were no follow up questions to whatever she shared. Such a shame. That said, this was one of the best actress roundtables.
Rarely did the host act each actress a direct question. They each had to contribute to the dialogue. Also, Awk is the newest artist so she does not have as many works or years in the field therefore she may not have either the confidence to interact in the dialogue or experiences to speak from.
I respect every woman at this table and I can genuinely say I've enjoyed all of their work. But Renee, Lupita and Scarlett shined here. They all had something so genuine, warm and eloquent about them.

Subject: Actress/Scarlett Johansson "Marriage Story" was one of THE BEST MOVIES that I've ever seen! Scarlett Johansson made you feel every emotion that her character went through, she brought her character to life in such a way that you felt every sadness, heartbreak and joy and all of the tragic and tender moments that couples go through being married and then divorced. She is, without a doubt, one of THE BEST actresses in Hollywood today! At the end of the movie, you just felt and knew in your heart that these two people still loved each other and you kind of hoped that they would someday reunite and remarry. And, people really do that! I've seen where two people were married when they were young and then they divorce, but years later they find each other again and remarry! Marriage Story is one movie that you don't want to miss! It is such an excellent and well executed love story! Scarlett Johansson is definitely one of the true classic Golden-Era style actresses that made Hollywood famous back in the day! Don't miss seeing "Marriage Story"!
I don’t know. I’ve seen it. It’s good but nothing exceptional. The story is okayish, the cinematography is okay nothing new, the acting i found it kind of soap operaish tbh. Scarlett was fine but definitely not the best actress in hollywood right now. Let’s not over praise an okay movie and a good actress yet. Things for what they are.
Marriage Story made me love Scarlett as an actress so much. I've never noticed her excellent acting skills before, and I have to admit I used to dislike her due to oversexualizing her roles which didn't resonate well with me. Oh boy, how ignorant I was, shame on me. Everyone is praising Adam for his role (with a great reason, of course), but for me, it was Scarlett that truly gave her best and shined, I felt too like I could totally feel or sympathize with every emotion she acted out. With that said, I won't be missing out on any other movie starring Scarlett (nor Adam, we stan both queens). In my opinion, MS truly is a masterpiece. I can't put my words around it, it's more about the feelings it provoked in me.
I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch that movie because I truly don’t find joy on watching a couple fight on tv and wanting to divorce when I get to see and live that every day with my parents

It is nice to say that but tell her that, if she wants a lower cinema price, she has to earn just 1 million dollars for a movie...
A movie cost 12 $ lmao
@@sagutxo82 The stars are not behind the rising ticket prices. Hollywood superstars have always been ridiculously expensive. It's the increasingly greedy studios with their exploding production costs (and Disney buying everything and anything that breaths) that do this.

yup. we could see scarlett's eyes start to water but she stopped herself from crying by smiling it out.
i teared up around there. not only because scarlett was hearing such a compliment from veteran actress speaking to her directly about her talent but also that renee's tone was so gentle and comforting, and we can feel truly she 1,000% means what she was saying. that wasn't saying something just to be nice, but that she really did see scarlett's work throughout the years and really believed in her early on

I absolutely agree!
@fortnite4201 x There's a whole boycott of that movie, and many people, myself included, who have significant problems with it. There are quite a few videos and articles about it too. That movie doesn't take away from SJ's experience, and this video was released long before that movie to come out.
Girl, I love me some J-Lo.... but honey! This is not your TED Talk or E- True Hollywood Story!
Love Renée Zellweger! Such a soft spoken, respectful, experienced and intelligent woman. Loved the looks of admiration and respect on the other actresses faces whenever she spoke.
J.Lo wouldn’t stop talking.
😂😂
Scarlet will never forget the complement Renee gave her. Cause Renee is a spectacular human and actress
Same
Ilia Uy I agree that downfall was on the creative part specifically the interviewer. They needed more diverse questions also.
Exactly. I prefer the former female interviewer.
Rarely did the host act each actress a direct question. They each had to contribute to the dialogue. Also, Awk is the newest artist so she does not have as many works or years in the field therefore she may not have either the confidence to interact in the dialogue or experiences to speak from.
Yeah I totally feel the same way about you
I just love the way Lupita talks. So articulate and smooth. It shows how knowledgeable she truly is and matured. Love it 😊!!
Meh
IKR
Jennifer is a performer. The actresses here are artists.
Thank You!
Spot on!
and by performer you mean lip sync champion)
Funny thing is everyone can be a dancer
I respect every woman at this table and I can genuinely say I've enjoyed all of their work. But Renee, Lupita and Scarlett shined here. They all had something so genuine, warm and eloquent about them.
I think the presenter should have given Awkwafina and Lupita more chances to contribute to the conversation.
Sadly yes especially awkwafina
Awkwafina is not even in the title :(
@@cjwoderstruck425 oh ,I didn't even realise that . 😲
@@cjwoderstruck425 Neither is Laura Dern.
This is sadly a norm the white actresses always dominate 80% of these round tables, and I didn’t wanna make this about race but these are facts go have a look. One exception I can think of off my head Tracy Ellis Ross🙂
They must’ve confused JLo with JLaw. Thats the only explanation as to why she is there.
The other ladies were looking at JLo when she was describing her dance scene like “girl that was no dramatic acting you were doing”🤣😂🤣😂
She’s legit a dancer/entertainer everything she was doing on that pole wasn’t nothing difficult or new. She’s talking out her ass here
@@Mitochondresha it depends on the person. Have yo uh seen fka twigs dance ? She learned pool dancing just for a music video but her performance at Jimmy Kimmel was exceptional. Jlo on the other hand is so empty and not cultured at all. I felt bad about her because its obvious that she wants to sound profound and comes across as dumb when you compare her to the other actresses
Aisosa Welch Nah. Watch. Her training for that scene. She worked her ass off to get that right.
It's not the acting she was scared of. It sounds like it was something that waa just out of her element. Pole dancing can be quite intimately sexy so she was nervous.
I personally don’t think she was scared at all. You can tell JLO was lying up the a**.
To repeat what someone else said
Renee commenting on Scarletts career and how she is a wonderul actress which superseeds her being sexualised is such a heartwarming moment.
i'd assume as an actor that any comment like this, ESPECIALLY from a peer and a peer with such experience would be something you'd cherrish and take with you for the rest of your life.
I know i would
Same . I simply did not expect Renee to be this empathetic and a good listener .
Yes it was sincerely genuine and lovely for her to let her know. ♡
They were all so enthralled when Lupita was speaking - she knows how to captive a room 💖
Renee being the ultimate Southern lady...she was secretly saying "Bless your heart 😂 to JLo
😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉
Renee and JLo are close friends in real life youre crazy and delusional
😂😂😂
Subject: Actress/Scarlett Johansson
"Marriage Story" was one of THE BEST MOVIES that I've ever seen!
Mona V You should’ve gotten paid for that
Marriage Story made me love Scarlett as an actress so much.
I haven’t seen it yet, but the absolute rave reviews of her performance are making me think it would be a definite watch...
I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch that movie because I truly don’t find joy on watching a couple fight on tv and wanting to divorce when I get to see and live that every day with my parents
