I preferred his role as Loki in Dogma. Or as himself in any of the Jay and Silent Bob movies.
@@calebsloan8531 Dogma was so freakin good, good call
Really? I thought he did a great job in that movie, but it is my least favorite of all his films.
I watched it for the fifth time two nights ago. It was riveting. One of the few times you feel guilty for realising that, by the end, you're rooting for the villain, when you shouldn't be.
@@Revelian1982 oh my gosh yesssss that’s the best. I totally know what you mean, it’s like a sick kind of pleasure the moment you realize….and then Marge is off on her way! Man now I feel like I need to watch it again haha

THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY is an absolute masterpiece. One of the most beautifully constructed thrillers of our time.
Totally agree! 100% It's so good! :)
Completely agree.
Was hoping Matt would mention Philip Seymour Hoffman and maybe a lil something about him in that movie we didn't know before.
I haven't seen it, but I'll put it on the list.

Rudy Bayliss in The Rainmaker - so great, as he is in every single movie beginning with Good Will Hunting. I love owning these DVDs as I feel I support the making of other Matt Damon flicks. Ford vs. Farrari and sooooo many more - what an actor.
I didn’t exactly to expect it to be included with how many incredible projects he’s been a part of BUT We Bought a Zoo? That is such an incredible story in grief and healing. LOVE IT

I'd say the Bourne identity, goodwill hunting and the Martian were definitely his most iconic roles. The Martian especially
The Bourne series is genuinely one of the finest film series ever made
His acting in Talented Mr. Ripley was on point
Amazing movie !!!
The best performance of his career in my opinion, The Departed as a close 2nd. Crazy how despite his A list action star status, and how lively and charismatic he is, he is at his best portraying seedy, wolf in sheep's clothes characters.
true, i think it was his best performance so far! it is my favorite but sooo underrated
What a Career he's had! One of the best of his generation, no doubt about it. Right up there with the likes of Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCaprio and others.
I love the way he explains everything, so brief, but so captivating. Always liked that about him.
I'm always a sucker for spy movies and to me the Bourne trilogy is great not only because of the scenario but also of the physicality of the fights and chases scenes, grounded in real techniques. Plus Matt is of course great !
I have an even deeper level of love and respect towards the late Robin Williams the fact he even helped get Matt Damon out there, RIP Rob 🙏🏻
I know his role wasn’t as big in Interstellar but I would love to hear him talk about that movie and working with Nolan
Well it's in the chats now, so maybe he'll get back to us 😅
Right, love the movie and the cast. Matt killed it when I first saw it in 70mm
100%!
He is next cast in Nolan's next film about Robert J Oppenheimer. I think the title will be called Oppenheimer but that can ways change
Another one who is joining is Robert Downey Jr
Matt Damon is such a phenomenal actor. He does his research and his acting is *chefs kiss*
Matt has an aura of well grounded, humble, personal and exceptionally intelligent person! Lucky we have him❤

It’s his deepest role.

He will forever be Jason Bourne. All Bourne movies are unique without a doubt
They changed action movies forever.
Can watch him in anything. He’s brilliant in Stillwater. (I also applaud his transition into the silver fox phase.)
Definitely a good (and realistic) transition, indeed.
That was a good movie, I didn’t know he was in a new movie until I saw his pic in the cover I immediately downloaded the movie 🍿
never heard the phrase silver fox. i'm guessing it's the male equivalent of MILF?

Yeah it is although I’ve heard folk just use the more direct “DILF” for that. (The silver tends to refer specifically to a man whose hair has now actually turned grey.)

He should direct and write more.
I love how humble he is about that scene in 'The Martian'. "Great directing." As if he's not an incredible actor.
The Departed is so incredible, and so underrated. Until I saw it I had thought all Scorsese made were fantastic biopics. Also has like the most insane cast I've ever seen in any movie: Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Alec Baldwin, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Anthony Anderson, Jack Nicholson. I mean you can make a blockbuster out of having just 1 or 2 of those names in a film, let alone all of em at once.
Underrated? Nah, it won Best Picture and Director also it has been garned as Scorsese's best movie in the 2000s, definetely got the recognition it deserves
@@Erasureeraser Exactly. The "underrated" word is so overly misused in a various praising comments that it's annoying. How an Academy winner of the best picture and a box office hit can be described as "underrated" is beyond me.
Thanks for all the hours of entertainment you have provided. I have read The Martian twice, once before watching the movie and once after. When I read it the second time, it was in your voice. The impact of the story was so much more intense having a face and a voice to go with the character.

The Martian has grown into one of my favorite movies of all time. It's just so well done.
@Capri Not if you watch it in 3D!
I don't want to be cliche' but, read the book. The story is way more in depth and intense and detailed. I had read it about a month before the movie launched and, surprisingly, it helped me enjoy the movie that much more. Sure things are a little different but you get into the characters head in the book in a way you can't with a movie...but as an audience member you can take that into the film with you and it enhances it. Just my opinion.
What I really love about Matt Damon is his ability to play a likeable good guy and a despicable bad guy with equal skill.
The first Bourne movie changes fight scenes forever. Visceral and brutal.
A person who genuinely loves his profession and protects his family. So fun to watch. Kudos, Matt.
