What happens when car is cold, ac condenser fan won't come on until car warms up. Condenser fan receives power from radiator fan. I have to wait 3 minutes to use the AC.
Just run a manual switch and hook the leads into the relay? Or here's a video that shows how to do a fused direct wire to the battery! ua-cam.com/video/yuvFkE2ntrE/v-deo.html
what is the symptom of a bad temp sensor? i have a code on my car that refers to cooling fan relay, however my car isn't overheating. it slows down when the ac is blasting though.
I have a 04 impala 3800. I replace the temp sensor under the thermostat and still doesn’t kick on the temp says it’s under the middle between 140 and 260 but I smell like the engine is burning and I unplug the sensor and it turns the fans on again
If the resisters burns out on a Astra '03 but the full on/higher temp setting still works, link, daisy chain, the signal side of relays so the fan comes on at the lower temps. Full speed, but the fix is to eventually replace the fan anyway. One day I may try some diodes to try and stop the engine light coming on when the fan starts up.
Seems like we have common problem. My Astra G 03, 1.6 petroil has this age old problem with cooling fan. Now obd reads fan raley 3, low signal/ open circuit, but the relays are fine. Do you think the problem could be with resistance within the fan? I did just buy new fan, but the problem is not gone.
@@KlavsAdventure test the relays by pulling them out and run a wire from the battery to the output within the relay connector .. number 30...try all relays to eliminate the relay is at fault. One should be the full speed, no resistor, one. I couldn't find a diagram for my model but it is the first one at the front. Probably both low speed resistors are gone so you will need new ones or do what I did and connect all the signal wires 86 to each other so they all start the fan through the full speed relay. At full speed so you really can tell it's working!! A side effect is that the smaller engine light comes on but cancelled when car is turned off. No problems since.
Simplified instructions...Narva 3-4mm Electrical Terminal Wire Tap Connector x 3 and a short piece of wire connecting the signal side of the relays. They squeeze in underneath. @@KlavsAdventure
You can add a jumper wire without risking shocking yourself. Just remove the relay and put a jumper wire. Be careful not to put the jumper on the coil side but be sure it’s on the load side. Don not break open your relay and grab it with your hand. Please
It's possible that the ac condenser isn't getting enough airflow for the ac system to be able to operate properly. The radiator fan/s are also supposed to spin fast enough to cool the ac condenser.
Question guys my fan works slow and high speed but as soon as i turn the ac the fans don’t bother to turn on and i turn ac off and they turn back on hmm
He could have taken the relay out, removed the case and replaced it for testing. He's got a relay now with a broken case + unusable. If the fan work's great!! If it doesn't it could be an open circuit from fan to relay. So it would be worth checking voltage at harness socket.

I would strongly suggest not doing this with your relays! It's a good way to burn up the fan motor as it would be on non-stop or possibly start a fire in your fuse ox? And this isn't an actual "bypass"?as you didn't bypass anything? If you're trying to see if it's the fan or relay that's bad/not working, take a pair of jumper wires/cables and hook them up to the fan plug. Then take the other end of the cables and touch them to the battery leads. (Now you've "bypassed" the fan relay!) If it spins, it's not the it's that somple...fan. It's something along the electrical path that controls the fan being on/off. If it doesn't spin when bypassed to the battery, then you need to replace the fan!
That's not too smart you do not want to connect it to the relay can get worst if you burn the fuse box ,simple way just connect it to the alternator and you good to go till you get it fixed.
Had you filmed this in proper video mode it would be so much better and watchable. This vertical crap is so annoying. Downvoted and not watched. Why not redo in video mode 16:9 as per the standard UA-cam Format.
You didn't explain anything..if anything,,you showed people who to burn up their car..explain to your viewers better..do the car have to be on when you in gage relay??..will relay get hot??..and will fan shut off whrn car is off??

Wow!! ... pure work of magnificent thinking! I was reluctant to go that route, but!! seems all to easy and affordable!
This typically means you have a bad temp sensor. Fans turn on and relay works. The temp sensor tells the relay to engage when at a certain temp.

How do I reverse the bypass my uncle did to the fan? My battery keeps dying and my car can't start even after buying new relay and new fan assembly
Buy a new battery
Unplug temp sensor fans will run on high
You could also unplug temp. Switch plug and fan should come on
If you do that the check engine light would also come on...and the car will hard start idle rough bad gas milage...
