- How to Create a Wedding Invitation Design in Photoshop
In this tutorial I will be showing you how to create a clean and elegant watercolour wedding invitation in Photoshop. To do this we will be using some beautiful watercolour floral illustrations, a few nice looking typefaces, and some decorative design elements to add a bit of sophistication and charm. After designing our invite we will build a wedding themed scene using elements from one of the mock-ups from the Design Cuts Marketplace to push the idea even further by presenting it in the best possible way. If you are all ready to begin then open up Photoshop and let's get started!

I try to select different cachacter what do i need to do to see all the option i have the molly scrip and ornament but i dont see the option where u can select different cachacter
Hey, thanks so much for leaving your comment! If you are working in Photoshop, you can access alternate characters by highlighting the text, clicking the 'Type' tab, then 'Panels and 'Character Panel' :)

Hi, I'm having trouble with the card. The card graphic I'm using doesn't scale well to the proportions you have here. It's more narrow. I thought it would be easy to simply remove the excess from around the edges but it looks like the excess is coming from a rectangle in the Linear Burn layer. I tried to remove the excess from that layer but the envelope itself is incomplete without the excess. Any advice?
Thanks for commenting! You should be able to download the envelope and card freebie used in this tutorial direct from our website, however if you are wanting to use an alternative mockup file, we would always suggest double checking your mockup size first, so that you can set the exact scaling to your new Photoshop document. This should then allow you to apply your design to your mockup easily :).
Just a question please- would you be able to sell this design on Zazzle/Cafepress, etc? Or are these images/fonts subject to royalties and copyrights? I'm looking into how to design and sell my own designs.

Thanks so much for commenting Ahmed. As this tutorial was created as a bit of fun experimenting with some resources, this was created in RGB. If you were creating a physical invitation for print however, then you may want to work in CMYK instead for your particular needs :)

very nice way to teach - subscribed. one qs: do we flatten the psd at 19:00 and save as, and it will keep original layered psd intact? can the saved as somename-flattened.psd's sub elements like flwers etc be changed for colours etc?
We're so glad that you love it Sunshine! When you flatten your invitation PSD, all of your layers become 1, so that you are unable to edit your design, and accidentally make any changes. Once your work had been flattened and saved, you or your customers will not be able to separate them again to access the individual elements. Design Cuts ok.. So for every design I should always keep the original copy and flattened copy? Why would I need to share a flattened copy to a customer? (Still got to try and learning Photoshop)- if flattened cannot change colors? What help will it be of to them?🤔😊

Just to clarify, you will need to provide your customers with a flattened end design so that they are unable to make any changes to your design, including changing the colours or text as this would allow for non-licensed users to work with your resources. I would definitely suggest you keeping an original copy of your designs for your own personal use, so that you can always return to any of your older designs at a later date. If you would like to sell any of your designs however, you need to provide them as a flattened end design. Thank you for commenting! For printing, it really depends on what type of style you are going for. If you want your invitation to be able to stand up, it may be a good idea to use card or thick paper :)

The Molly Ornaments are available only if you have access to the Molly Script which was included in The ‘Create and Make’ Design Bundle. Additionally, you can use any similar font from your collection that has alternative styles and ornaments. Hope this helps :)

how to make images import high resolution like yours and its transparency?
Hey there, thanks for leaving us a comment! The resolution of the image is not dependable upon Photoshop. If your image is unclear this may be because the image itself does not have a high resolution. I hope this helps if you have any questions just let us know as we are always happy to help!

Hey there, thanks so much for commenting! As this is a mockup, you should find that you can add your own design to your smart object to apply it to the scene. To print your design you should be able to save your design as a file ready for print. I hope that this helps, and please feel free to email us if you have any other questions :)
