    A great video addressing the topic of logo creation according to me. As a bookstagrammer I've been wanting to get my own website created on Canva, so was just searching to get started on designing a logo, definitely helpful video... The best tips I've found is that of resizing the logo, saving it in SVG format for best quality of logo and having multiple variations of the logo.

    I was wondering about Canva logo, that you and someone else may use the same template. I did use one and saved it as a PNG, Cricut Design Space told me that the resolution (wasn’t exactly the word they used) was not great, I didn’t understand how they can say that when I used a Canva template, however, it printed horrible and I was still baffled until I came across your video. Such a pleasure! I share more of this in my course but using Canva itself can be useful (the line tool has improved a lot since recording!), or another personal favourite of mine is literally using a pen and paper and vectorsing the drawing. Or if you want to get a little more intricate using professional programs like Adobe Illustrator or Affinity Designer can be great! But also not being afraid to hire and illustrator to help you create parts that you meed too.

    From Canva website:
    What kinds of products am I allowed to sell?
    Canva’s Content License Agreement does allow you to use both Canva Free and Pro Content to design and sell a range of products (see section 5 of the Content License Agreement) such as:
    e-books and magazines;
    templates;
    posters, mugs, t-shirts, stickers, and other printed products.
    Canva’s Content License Agreement does not allow you to use Free or Pro Content to design and sell your own stock content (for example, clipart files). If you want to sell stock content, you need to create your own designs from scratch.

I hope that makes sense. Every time I tried to add my logo to the top of a business letter the logo becomes the business letter like it becomes the entire it completely replaces my design and I don't understand why this is happening. I am not a graphic designer I just have a canva pro account and I am using Canva AI to make designs.

    Hi! If I save as an SVG file, and airdrop the image to my phone, I am not able to save the image out of the files app, I think bc iphone doesn't support that file type. Is there a way around this while still keeping the image crisp? If I save as png its not as HD. I want to use the logo for an instagram profile pic

    • @jacquinaunton
      @jacquinaunton  4 місяці тому

      You don't need to export it as SVG. SVG I great for inside Canva or for other needs (ie. some printing, web, etc). But for an IG profile pic I'd just make a 2000px square design (or anything larger than 800px) in Canva, arrange my logo there (perhaps with a nice colour in the background), then just export as a PNG and send to phone. No need to have SVG for that :)

    • @jacquinaunton
      @jacquinaunton  6 місяців тому

      I’ve never had an issue with A4 size. Is your logo quite detailed? Or what file type are you saving it as?
      If you have canva pro I’d recommend saving as a transparent SVG. if you do that it doesn’t matter what size the design is.

    Thanks for all your tips! Gave me new ideas on how to use my logo 👍👍👍
    My logo predates Canva (made the original in 2007, put the hat on in 2013) 😉 I made it in a vector program (Xara) that my sister owned and used for her clients.
    Because in that time faxes were still being sent, I even have a version without colour.
    While watching your video, I realised that it in no way 'follows' your design rules 🤭
    But I still love it - it literally made me money and it's very recognisable in a weird way: people refer to it as "that purple elephant". That's mainly, but not exclusively, because of the companyname that goes with the original one: (translated) The Purple Elephant. Funny how the mind works. 😁
    Long story short: I'm aware of the limitations of my logo. But for me the pros still outway the cons big time ❤

      Yes, save SVGs for inside canva use then export as png or jpg for social media. Blurry images are usually caused if the canva file is too small (although zooming in isn’t a common thing people do on Instagram). Try making your canva design at least 1080px wide

      You are correct - I say this because if you use an element on Canva as your logo this isn't great practice. You cannot trademark the logo nor is it unique to you (the goal of a logo IS to be unique). So as a professional helping people to design professional logos - my advice is to avoid using premade Canva elements as your logo.

      I believe the info given is to persuade you to be more original. Have you ever seen business cards or flyers from two different entities with the same logo styles? I think that’s what this creator is attempting to convey.. maybe I’m wrong but that’s how I took it

    Good information, but you speak too fast and incomprehensible. For a non-native English speaker, it is very difficult to understand.

    If you speak just a little bit faster it is completely impossible to understand you.

      Some viewers find slowing the playback speed of the video down to .75x helpful :)
