Always nice to see and hear u bk on youtube old friend from nz
Good for you Joe! I bought the same double 45 and also “Everything Must Go”. I have bought a ton of LPs and some SACDs from Chad.
I recently received the UHQR of Gaucho. The packaging is even bigger. Yes, it’s $150 + shipping and the majority of vinyl lovers won’t go for it. All I can say it’s outstanding on 45rpm/200 gram vinyl. I have Can’t Buy A Thrill and Aja UHQR too and preordered Katy Lied. All are great sounding.
Recently, Thanks to Tim on The University of Vinyl UA-cam Channel I became aware of the Quadraphonic 1974 release of Can’t Buy A Thrill . They guitarist on Reeling in the Years (Baxter) is different from the original. Sounds amazing as does Donald Fagen.
Thanks for you vid!
Awesome review! I have been a follower of yours since the old Linux days. In fact, I got my start in BASH scripting from your videos on BASH. I am no where near an audiophile but I do have a dedicated music room so videos like these are of an interest to me. Keep up the good work!
Great video Joe. I too am a Steely Dan fan, but I haven't had a good sit down listen for a while. Anyway, after watching your vid, I headed over to Qobuz and found the Two Against Nature album streaming at 96Khz/24bit. Now I am really curious to find out how the 16 bit CD and your audiophile pressing stacks up to the hi-res version. Listening to Negative Girl, I can hear what you mean when listening to the vibraphone in that track.
Not sure if you're aware, Steely Dans following album "Everything Must Go" is also a 45 RPM from Acoustic Sounds. Killer Sound !
Yep, I know.... That may be next for me. We shall see.
All the matter comes to a source of origin. Long story short. From all the equipment and records I had, let’s say in the previous life, I left with an hdd with a bunch of flac files I grabbed by myself from early CD’s. Unfortunately no modern music libraries, for whatever reason, can’t ever be compared to those early recordings. Grate job of finding those records. They are precious indeed!
Greetings and salutations!
When I think of Steely Dan, I think Jojo Bizzare Adventure when Jotaro neats the crap out of him and then signs a piece of paper like a receipt. Just a total badass Jotaro moment.
I am off topic but: Could you create at show and tell about PHASE? I am a longtime audio enthusiast. Lately I keep hearing people talk about phase. I have always understood that it simply meant keeping the red and black speaker wires attached to their corresponding red and black connectors.
Can you provide more detail if it is relevant?
Thank you.
awesome
Foo foo.🤣🤣🤣👍 I'm not making fun of you Joe. Just enjoying the vibe. I've done the foo foo thing too. Got to once in awhile. I really enjoyed Dire Straights' On Every Street.
I have had only good experiences with Analog Productions records. The also sell used records.
👍👍👍👍👍👍🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Depends. Hope ur doing well.
LOL... Did you WATCH the video at all?
Thanks for another great video Joe. I share your exuberance over finding albums or CDs that sound remarkably better than what I have. Enjoy!!!
