Yes that's a drop of water on my glasses from drinking water far too intensely... Why not meme on me about it in my twitch chat? www.twitch.tv/xtwoshoes
Always enjoy your helpful advice. The one thing I disagree with you about is when someone supports your stream you do owe them something & that's improved content.
"or buy certain microphones, because other streamers use that microphone" *points at sm7b* 😂 so many people buy new gear for that one reason. thank you for saying it!
Such a helpful video! 12:54 I encountered that exact scenario when I first started. I did some research and said NO. Regarding the sound pads, I would like some advice on how to really dampen the sound coming out of my PC tower, a Lian Li XL. I have so many fans running and they are LOUD, especially my GPU, and I can't exactly cover up the vents because hot air has to escape. I also live in the desert next to the Airforce Base. XD
The production values keep getting better and better 💪 Point #1 is my most given advice to my friends that are starting out 🖤and in general SO MUCH of what you touch on in this video are things I've been thinking about A LOT lately
One advice I have and didn't know at first is high quality streaming ie 4k is bad. Non partners don't have the ability to allow viewers to alter stream quality on there player so people with bad WiFi or Internet can't watch you. A standard 720p 60fps is best!
I now have a no socials rule for the weekends, which I've just extended to UA-cam. This gives me a break for mental health. I might post some irl stuff like me skating or biking, but no twitch content. At first I felt I was missing out. In time I learned I wasn't missing anything.
Absolutely rock-solid advice, as always! Also congratulations on LVLUP that is amazing! Being a founder is hard, if you ever want to talk about it you know I'd be happy to :)
Hey xTwoShoes I just wanted to say man I watch your video every time you post it up I love your video they been really helping me out with my stream a lot I been taking a lot advice you spoken and it’s been really helping a lot I do appreciate the words and support you putting on your video thank you 🙏
Do you know how I can fix my stream recordings losing quality? Like I’m gaming and there are parts in the stream where I’m in a fight or a high movement setting and the quality just drops to like 420p in the recordings. It’s so annoying my gaming stream recordings don’t come out looking 1080, I have a great pc and my output is set to 1920x1080
The part about co-streams is something I ALWAYS advise people to stop doing so frequently unless they can balance chat properly. I think it works okay for UA-cam or pre-recorded stuff, amazingly even if you have a great chemistry to perform with your friends HOWEVER when you're live it can take away from your viewers experience, you take longer to reply to them, and you really aren't performing. You're just having a good ol' gaming sesh. Please anyone reading this comment, know I love gaming with my friends more than anything but I do not do voice comms in my stream, I want to entertain and perform and engage with my audience. I game with my friends off streams or to record things that can be edited and don't require me to give my audience personalized attention. It's very good advice to stream solo and practice keeping the conversation rolling without a buffer!
Love the advice about stopping and acknowledging raids better! Going to be taking this into account on my own streams. I definitely feel like I could be doing a MUCH better job here. Co-Streaming with my hubby in the beginning was also a way to get us both going but can say it got old fast o.o My biggest problem with the co-streaming is at FIRST he had people coming to his streams and I didn't. I was fine with it. Then it switched and I had people coming to mine and his viewership dropped (he'd only stream like once every 2 weeks while I was streaming 4-6 days a week) and he'd complain and get sulky LOL So now we don't stream together ;) Great video, loved all the info! NOTE to anyone wondering about LVLUP - while I haven't personally used his service yet I did get a quote for a channel trailer and can say that they DO in fact have very affordable rates! Can't wait to not be poor so I can pull the trigger :D
I found this video a bit late...by a year. It's very informative. Even if I don't know or fully understand the terminology. I'm a bit out of the loop. I'm just getting into all this stuff. Also, George is cool. You can tell he's been loved. Who cares what those people say. *^_^*
I'm a fresh follower of you on Twitch, just added you. I do *not* hate the teddy. *I may have a tin whistle waiting to be used after my thoughtful husband bought it for me after starting to really want to connect more to my Irish heritage*
No. 4 doesn't apply for German streamers, because they could get into serious legal trouble when posting a schedule and not having a certain licence ("Rundfunklizenz").
"I see a couple of new viewers joined. Welcome to the stream!" Even though I still don't think that's calling people out, you got to respect culture. Also, two other things I personally find annoying-1 of which I struggle with-is repeating the same thing using the exact same words, like "Let's see." I always say it at work, too, and it's annoying. Finally, graphics, like stream layout. I never struggled with this one coming to Twitch, but I've seen some ugly graphics from other streamers. Study fundamentals and trends. Find inspiration. Practice. It pays off.
You absolutely don't have to but I think it would be a nice video if you made something about how to get into/find the twitch know. As in subreddits groups ect. Btw loved the tips!
I have the most niche-and-opinionated "thing I got wrong when starting!" I'm a VTuber, right? VTubers have the benefit of basically just being another element of the OBS scene and can be parked pretty much anywhere. But all the overlays I'd been seeing were designed to have a space for a regular streamer to stick their camera! So... I mocked up a background and shrank my model down real tiny and stuck it in the frame! Which technically does work, but it does not make the most of a VTuber's model! You probably have details on that thing that you wanna show off! You've got shiny parts and bouncy bits! You want your viewers to actually realize when your expressions change or you do a neat toggle! You probably paid a lot of money for the damn thing, don't shrink it down to the size of a postage stamp! ....so anyway I think I did that for a month and a half before I realized it kind of looked like garbage and then I stopped. At least I'd paid about 12 dollars to make my model from scratch.
I am honestly fine if I get banned for using copy righted music. DMCA music is awful, almost no one actually likes it, It is the same 3 beats over and over for 3-4 minutes with a random spot of 2-3 random lanes of a new beat. If I can't listen to music that I like then I would rather just not stream. Most music artist themselves don't care it is their labels that care. So many artist say that the money they make from Spotify is laughable anyways or than MASSIVE artist like Taylor Swift and stuff like that. A lot of the bands I listen to on Stream have been open about not caring if people use their music because it is seen as free promo to them.
Right? I’ve seen so many people be like “OMG you’re a steamer too? Let’s network!” Me: OMG you’re a steamer too? (Checks their content and socials for anything disgusting before saying anything else.)
I like how you’ve changed your stance on congested games. I don’t tend to look into game ranking all that much but have seen growth from both congested and uncongested games. Playing a congested Title will lead to slower growth but if that title makes you happy and you’re your best streamer self while playing it then go ahead. It’s kinda funny that some of the most concentrated categories have the best growth opportunities, Just Chatting and Music are extremely oversaturated but people see incredible growth in them every day.
I’ve been streaming for about a week now, and I’ve seen an average of 2 viewers (including my bot), and I’m a bit of a loss. If anyone here who’s had success could throw me some tips it would be a huge help.
I would suggest not asking for likes and subscribers in the start of your video. I've watched plenty of your videos, however for those that're new this could be off putting, and they might even click off. Also, it's bit annoying being asked to like a video when you don't know if you actually like the video yet. I would suggest putting this more towards the middle of the video.

I actually had the sm7b from my old job haha but yeah some things just aren’t needed :) thank you!

No. 4 doesn't apply for German streamers, because they could get into serious legal trouble when posting a schedule and not having a certain licence ("Rundfunklizenz").
Your channel is so underrated
Thank you!
I didn't even think about the fact that there might be a streamer twitter. Any account in particular or just hit all of them with a follow lol
Updated video about sponsors would be gratefully received!
Got it! Thank you!
