Timing is so underrated. I follow people I like but they don't have set times or days and it can be difficult to drop what I'm doing to watch. It took me months of playing around with different days and times to get myself into a nice spot.
I love the idea of the random talents I tried to really think about this when doing channel point redemptions and I feel like its really been enjoyable. I like writing short horror stories and wanted to do more with that, I have a redemption to have a custom horror story written for you I'll read on stream which me and some of my regulars have been excited for. Those type of things really make your channel and content more unique which I feel like is the most important thing in the evolving cyberscape. Your videos have been great so far thanks for the tips!
People often complain that I am streaming too late. However. Since the Internet is global, I think there’s always going to be somebody that thinks I’m streaming at the wrong time. To combat this, I used to do my usual stream on Sunday night and then do a afternoon stream during the week. To try and give other people opportunity. But I decide to focus more on UA-cam so I’m only streaming once a week again. Honestly I mean I think people will adapt to whatever I do. I might grow faster during one Time of day or something but at the end of the day sometimes for consistency you can only say hey I’m available Sunday at 8 PM. I mean there’s literally no other time or day that I can be consistent with so I kind of like having this same day and time that I’ve had for two years now. I want people to be able to be able to count on me! I will say though, my friend said she streams before work every morning. Like oh my God seven in the morning. And she is absolutely killing it.
tried for many months, streaming at scheduled times, trying different games, layouts, energy levels, etc... nothing. Decided I'll just keep everything on youtube for now - vids and streams all in one place, and see where it goes from there
Dude the guitar/other talents thing is so true! I’ve solved a rubik’s cube and played covers of songs on stream and saw big spikes in chatters. I don’t know why more people aren’t doing other stuff. You can work that stuff into your channel points
I love your vids man, just started watching them and they're giving out really great advice! I can relate when you basically said "I think they like it when I do songs at the end of my streams." because I do song requests at the end of my streams with my uke or just singing and a lot of times people don't do requests or the chat is just quiet and I never know if they enjoy it or not :') If people don't request anything I just play random songs anyways since it's now a part of the streams and I want to entertain anyways but even tho I know I should just do it for fun I sometimes do wonder if they actually enjoy it haha.
I’ve only been streaming for about a month, but I’ve noticed when I stream around the other people in the community I’m apart of my numbers are a lot better and I think it’s honestly one of the best tips I’ve gotten! Streaming around them also means I can either raid them or they raid me and we can help each other grow, especially if that person has just finished streaming and they’re still playing with me but it’s on my stream!
It's very true I watch all these type content creators and your content is fresh and the mic and video look very professional. Great job and thanks for the free info.
Like other comments are saying here, this is a way more valuable and practical way to tackle streaming. Greatly amplifying the bigger picture of these tips that other channels would just tell you the basics of.
Great tips. I started streaming last week, started watching tons of videos, then the realisation came in and I stopped. There are a lot of rules for growth that need to be adhered to. Just going live doesn't equal growth. Prepping and understanding when are where to stream is super important. Thanks for the tips my Irish sausage. Looking to grow with your tips moving forward 👊
This videos excellent man you didn't cut much or anything and discussed exactly what it's like. I was Fulltime a couple years ago in 2019 and streamed every day for 6 hours a day. It worked but it burned me out. Now I'm re building my core audience again and stream two and a half hours and am slowly getting the same of not better results! Smarter not harder ;D
I don't have 2 screens and can't view my OBS without pausing the game (freeze) Therefore I use my Laptop on the side to view my Stream Layout, as if I was watching someone else, obviously muted too. (so the audio don't get recorded) That has been working pretty well for me. the only downside of this method is that I can't view the new follow (thank you insert name) because of the stream delay.
first video of you I saw, and I prefer the no-beanie style (good initiative there) you really brought up some interesting points that no other video had. I was really expecting an other generic don't do this video, but it wasn't ! So gg's to that, I liked it
I can't stream consistanly cuzzz I stream after dinner. And it relies on if my brother has football or if my dad is home early or late. So that sucks but when I live on my own I will fix that
Hey man, amazing audio and video quality. Are you green screening yourself with that background blur trick ? Also what camera are you using? Thanks and good luck.
Hey buddy! Thanks! Nope no green screen, this is just done on camera. The camera I use is the Sony Zv-1. It's a great piece of kit for the price. You can see it here amzn.to/3dTjnbd (Affiliate link)
I would say whenever you are ready! If you think your stream would benefit by having a camera, then add one:) Theres no real set time for these things, but if you can and want to, I'd say for it!
C'mon, have confidence in your music Dan! Listening to your songs, particularly your originals, is so cool. Never doubt your musical talent. (I haven't been in streams that often lately, but I'll be back
Loving these videos man just curious for your videos do u use a webcam or a camera also what webcams would u suggest I’m trying to upgrade because the one I have now is not very good
also i got to broadcast at around 11pm my time because if i try to broadcast in the early afternoon to early evening times my broadcast stops and shuts off on me because my connection is on very very low connection speed. others broadcast at around to maybe 2pm or 7pm and they can broadcast very well at those times because they got the highest internet connection speeds all the time.
i dont' have a set time to stream, why, easy, i'm a chronic ill risk patient even haven't left my appartment since the beginning of may. I stream when i can fysicly handle it.
Hey, it’s funny to find you I heard your voice and I was like they HAVE to be Irish so I remembered there’s a about on twitch and I went there and you live in Ireland Dublin (I live also live in Dublin). You’re very underrated!
i used too stream at 6pm Florida eastern time but it does not work from 6pm till 9pm i used too stream i change my sleep schedule i cannot go too sleep at 3am or 1am anymore. i trying too lose weight i went fro m327 pounds and now 260 pounds. so i might change back too 1pm Florida eastern time . i would stream Monday Tuesday and Tuesday and Thursday. but i am a solo streamer no team or friends for me . so also i taking a 6 month break from stream since 2020 jun . i enjoying my break cause i been working on my youtube channel on top of that as well i been doing letsplays and recordings instead of streaming all the time . i might do streams for games i enjoy and able too play with viewers single player games i do not know i like too record them not do live streams when i play single player games i used too get 5 viewers but when i stream monster hunter and play with viewers also i am heal my mind cause i was get driving crazy of the view counter i turned off the viewer count on obs but i alll ways keep check at the end of my followers and subscribers on youtube cause i multi stream .i also know that stream on 1pm lunch time i would know there not allot of streamers on that time from 1pm till 3pm . that was my old time .
As far as not wearing headphones, yeah for some reason that’s my thing. I don’t really watch twitch and I’m not like a pro gamer type person. So I try not to be influenced by all of that. I like to be seen with no headset or anything like that because I think that is weird and I feel like it separates you from the community. I feel like it’s not necessary? I stream with my TV speakers and you really can’t hear it in my streams.
Dang i really want to stream but unfortunately my internet is absolutely crap can't even stream at 720p without dropping heavy frames it sucks but oh well
Question: how would one make fictional story writing a part of their stream? I wouldn't consider it a talent of mine, but it's definitely an interest and I'd be happy to share it with the peeps who watch my streams :x
That's so cool! Why don't you read chat a bedtime story at the end of each stream? Or you could create a story and use names from chat and tell it over a view streams so people want to know what happens next etc:)
Found out it's better to stream on kick and youtube at the same time twich uses to much cpu gpu to run its what I call a power hog . Tested out myself using obs was able to stream on youtube and kick same time no lag. Tested youtube and twitch was very leggy. So better to only use twitch if that's the only place you stream.
Whats up man im having really bad problems streaming i cant get anyone in to watch me im streaming only 2 weeks i was in your stream the other day watching you i have only 17 followers i have no idea what im doing wrong
the only time i get tons of views is when i broadcast for very long time periods like near 6 to 10 hours long. also when i talk and do very short broadcast times i don't get any views. they just like to watch my broadcast when i'm done with it and depending on if i do a very long one. so to me talking and short videos = no views and no talking and very long videos = lots to tons of views.
My advice is look at the stream analytics in your creator dashboard and see what time your views are highest and start streaming closer to that time. You don't need to be doing 10 hour days just to get views. Work smart, not hard.
i personally don't like it if a streamer tries to change their schedule just to get the most views. i rather have them have healthy sleep schedules than just go live because most viewers are from a different timezone than them
Of course it's implied that you should only stream at times that work for you. I definitely don't suggest that streamers harm their sleep or rest to go live:)
See for me, it’s simple. Everybody starts watching me when I first start, and then they drop off. First after 30 minutes, then after about an hour, and then definitely after two hours. You’re needing to watch your vods and look at the stream summary to see where the drop offs are happening. Identify what in your stream could be making this happen. It’s a tool in your tool kit that you can utilize to help yourself improve easily.
@@CosmicInkwell Kind of like audience retention on UA-cam. That sounds cool I will have to look for that. I generally don’t have the time to go back and do that but I really will because I do that with my UA-cam videos. I think it’s just a matter of people wanting to stop by to chat and then they want to move on with their night. they get the notification so they stop by and then they leave. That’s kind of what my friend was saying anyway. She said it’s unrealistic to expect people to stay for two or three hours. However I do know with some streams when we are three hours in, and I say that, people are seriously shocked and they’re like, has it really been three hours already??? But that’s usually if it’s a multi player stream playing Splatoon or some thing.
i am gaining more followers every day but im no one is watching the channel like they were before. ive had a bunch of people tell me how much they love the channel and people would ask me when i was streaming and couldnt wait for the next one. all of a sudden, nothing, crickets. all the people are still in discord and follow the channel but no one is engaging hardly anymore and it is becoming discouraging. i have an active variety channel and i dont sleep on stream and i actually play and collect real retro games but if i was trying to get affiliate again, it probably wouldnt happen now. i just brought my schedule back and maybe that could help, idk but my stream seems more ded with every step that i take to make it better. oh well, if i make it thats good and if i dont, well then, i just wonder how people like, chris chan and cyrax exist...
I used to stream when I had free time but I stream at 1pm and 3 pm when I tested what worked for me at 1pm used to work for me. what worked was 6pm so I miss going live to 1pm. I had a scheduled stream 3 years to 0-8 people for 3 years I saw no growth oh yea I turned off my number on obs . also I take a break from streaming to heal my mental mind i was going mad with views and followers why no one was joining my stream. when I stream for longer in my 2nd year I started to read chat and say hi to people. but friends and people would show up and say hi but they leave for like 30 seconds . also I moved youtube i love it i am happier here on youtube i just get depressed and do not get motivated too stream on twitch anymore. cause of the e-girls these hot tub streams and women getting a 3 day ban us men get permabanned the fact that twitch is based too girls not men there a strong double standard thats why i left twitch youtube there no rule changes too tos no banned words . women are rarely protected on yuotube . i am telling you after these hot tub streams my 0-8 viewers when down badly i get no 2-0 viewers now . i hate it .so glad i moved .my viewership was for the better i did a test stream and my viewership went up
If you want to catch me live on Twitch, you can follow me at www.twitch.tv/xtwoshoes, and thank you all SO MUCH for 2k subs!!

However I do know with some streams when we are three hours in, and I say that, people are seriously shocked and they’re like, has it really been three hours already??? But that’s usually if it’s a multi player stream playing Splatoon or some thing.
He looks like dantdm but sounds like jacksepticeye my friend also agrees with me
I get this a lot..
I wish I could stream 5 days according to my schedule and then i get lazy ending yup streaming three days

What happens if u have no talents at all lol
i am gaining more followers every day but im no one is watching the channel like they were before. ive had a bunch of people tell me how much they love the channel and people would ask me when i was streaming and couldnt wait for the next one. all of a sudden, nothing, crickets. all the people are still in discord and follow the channel but no one is engaging hardly anymore and it is becoming discouraging.
i have an active variety channel and i dont sleep on stream and i actually play and collect real retro games but if i was trying to get affiliate again, it probably wouldnt happen now.
i just brought my schedule back and maybe that could help, idk but my stream seems more ded with every step that i take to make it better.
oh well, if i make it thats good and if i dont, well then, i just wonder how people like, chris chan and cyrax exist...

I used to stream when I had free time but I stream at 1pm and 3 pm when I tested what worked for me at 1pm used to work for me. what worked was 6pm so I miss going live to 1pm. I had a scheduled stream 3 years to 0-8 people for 3 years I saw no growth oh yea I turned off my number on obs . also I take a break from streaming to heal my mental mind i was going mad with views and followers why no one was joining my stream. when I stream for longer in my 2nd year I started to read chat and say hi to people. but friends and people would show up and say hi but they leave for like 30 seconds . also I moved youtube i love it i am happier here on youtube i just get depressed and do not get motivated too stream on twitch anymore. cause of the e-girls these hot tub streams and women getting a 3 day ban us men get permabanned the fact that twitch is based too girls not men there a strong double standard thats why i left twitch youtube there no rule changes too tos no banned words . women are rarely protected on yuotube . i am telling you after these hot tub streams my 0-8 viewers when down badly i get no 2-0 viewers now . i hate it .so glad i moved .my viewership was for the better i did a test stream and my viewership went up
Very helpful
Glad to hear that!
