I was honestly thinking about getting it on PC (have it on Nintendo) and trying to stream it, only problem I see is that I might get bored of it quite fast
Dude you are dropping some serious truth bombs on your channel!! Watched this last night and thought "Okay lets give it a go", so I looked through and found a game I hadnt played for a few months but loved it so much. It had the exact criteria you had mentioned. So today I streamed it and for the first time i had 3 people watch about 90% of the 3 hour stream. And not just that, it was a game that made me really be myself and I was talking the whole damn time, was amazing. Dude thank you so much like you have been an absolute guide for me
I blame Stardew having a bunch of people streaming it now is on how often it is recommended. It basically became slightly saturated with low view count streamers due to it constantly being a recommendation for not being saturated. It is also just a fun game that still has updates occasionally as well.
Wow this is an eye opener… I love games like Skyrim and tbh I’ve been looking for an excuse to replay it, I’ll give this a go! Wish me luck! Thanks for the help!
Great vid. I've been finding growth playing Football Manager. It fits the bill perfectly according to your vid. Lots of people coming in to chat and ask questions which is great.
Thank you so much for your tips brother! I got affiliate it a few weeks back and currently focusing on viewership not on Growth but just improving my channels entertainment overall. You definitely gave me a very open insight on what I need to focus on next thank you so much I’ll definitely come around and hang out with you when you stream on twitch thank you so much brother definitely see you around
I streamed for 400+ hours in 4 months and never had a raid. Then I switched to playing star trek bridge crew and star trek online and was raided twice in 1 week. My advice to not only you but to myself as well is find a rabid/underserved fanbase (that you know alot about) and play games in that category. Dont forget you will fail sometimes. I have streams where I get no veiwers in a 5 hour stream so I definitely don't have all the answers now but the more I fail the more I learn. And dont forget your main prerogative is to remain positive and fun. Dont be afraid to change it up and never take someone's advice thinking it will have the same exact effect on you that it did on them
I’ve found that games like VRChat work, if your stream looks good. Lots of viewership, and a lot of streamers BUT you will notice that the majority of streamers have zero flare to their streams not even showing their face. So it’s a lot easier for a good stream to stand out
I plan on starting steaming this month, I was kinda leaning this way already for what games cause I want it to be a hobby first and I'm not good enough to do competitive multiplayer games. This video kinda helped boost my confidence, alot of other how to grow videos make me feel defeated before I start. That's enough to earn a subscription from me.
I’ve seen a few people giving this advice before and I tried it thinking it wouldn’t work, but it does, you might not get viewers staying if your stream isn’t great quality but it’ll definitely get more people to check you out. I went from maybe 20 unique views to 120/130 and my average went up too. Obviously getting the eyes on the stream is one thing and getting them to follow or stay for a while is another but it definitely works
Another awesome video, Dan! Once again, I appreciate you for taking the time to offer helpful and impartial advice as well as a method of determining certain games to stream. 😆👍👍 Cheers to you, my man! 🍻
I know this is a old video but I recently started back on my Twitch on Dec 23rd with 35 original followers. I bought the equipment needed Capture cards HDMI splitters, and a Studio Mic Shure MV7. I started streaming PS2 games first and popped off! Gaining 4 to 7 followers a stream took a break then started playing Far Cry Series games from PS3 era and PS4. I've been playing PS1 games up to PS4, my most viewership is on MW 05 PS2, and Driver 1 and 2 PS1 I've hit 86 followers this week as I'm watching this video! Plus growing in commmunities is a plus~I've put my self out there on Aus discords and gained friendships as well as streamed with them. Growing slowly but surely almost affiliate! I'm currently stuck on 2.49/3 so close! I streamed Far Cry Primal and gained 3 followers and that boosted my Viewership Big time! I had consistent viewership and chat for 6 whole hours, Til I ended stream I raided out to my Aus friend! Get your name out there!
this is the best advice, thank you so much for this advice, I've been stuck on what I should do for picking games for my streams, so thank you for this advice
This is amazing! I have had zero growth but have been streaming in art working very hard drawing its exhausting. Imma start gaming.....these tips make so much sense and twitch strike is wow.
I love streaming gd. Some days it’s super dry. But then some days I get 10-20 followers from random chatters. (And as someone who is already small, and doesn’t even advertise stream. That’s pretty good)
I can add The Forest to the list, not the biggest viewer count, but some very loyal fans (you'll get a lot of backseat gamers though), streamers who raid the same category, I hit affiliate in no time when I started playing that. For more growth, you'll probably need something bigger, but as a starter, it's a great game. I've noticed that Stardew has a loyal, chatty community, but I have a feeling they are also less interested in other types of games. Great video anyway, find your niche, but make sure you still enjoy it.
As always great vid Dan, surprisingly I think you mentioned this during one of your streams and I started doing this a while back and it is 100% working for me even though i do alot more horror !
i got my first raid yesterday playing rocksmith lol i suck but everyone from the raid stuck around to watch me play my shitty guitar and it was hella cool
Ayyy figured I’d let you know since I personally would love to know if I were in your position, this video was on my recommended and I’ve never searched this topic before! Haha good shit my guy
Can't believe I've never heard of Twitch Strike before! Either way, this was a really helpful and interesting method, definitely something I'll keep in mind! Thanks for the tips~ :D
Thanks so much for the info! Just stated streaming this past month and I'm trying to figure out what I need to start streaming. This definitely helps. I'm so close to affiliate!! I'm sure this will push me over the edge.
Great video :) I do wish twitch had a better search system still, If it were anything like youtube It wouldn't be as challenging to grow easily one of the harder social medias in my opinion.
It’s interesting that Skyrim did really well for you. A friend once told me that RPG‘s are not good for streaming. And I noticed he was right because every time I did, it did not go well. However, these were not western RPG ‘s. They were turned-based. Lots of dialogue and cut scenes. Skyrim has lots of dialogue but I guess Skyrim is way more unpredictable and stuff so it can create unique moments. I just started Dragon’s dogma and I was thinking wow I want to stream this! However, I am remembering last year I did stream at one time and it was not a very good stream at all. Farming games are cool and they are in my niche, but honestly they just seem a little too relaxing for me. I enjoyed crash bandicoot because there was a lot of stuff I could mess up on and it was high action. So people doing channel point redeems to make me close my eyes was pretty fun I thought.
This is what I needed because I’m 4-3 followers away from being affiliated. I struggle with making a good title and finding a game that both I and the viewers would enjoy.
@@xTwoShoes thank you for the reply it’s greatly appreciated. I’ve been watching your videos for about a couple of months now and it’s really been helpful. I’m trying to do better as a streamer and gamer.
@@sir_decarlos3285 Np man! There are several videos on UA-cam explaining why it's bad to become affiliate when you are growing. I sadly did the mistake. The contract you sign as an affiliate says e.g. that every content on Twitch you create is 24h exclusive for Twitch only. No multistream, no best of moments right after... And you earn way less from advertising than a partner does (:
Regarding to your first point I would like to add a critical note. I followed this method as well for a bit playing Spelunky 2 on stream, which statistically seemed smart. Not a lot of streamers, quite a lot of viewers. Thing is, this one Korean dude that was extremely good at the game took up about 80% of those viewers. So don't look blindly at statistics - there is some traffic you will never get from other people! / edit Ok - I obviously didn't finish the video before writing this comment lol.

Thank you man! also you popped up in my recommended so nice job crushing that all mighty youtube algorithm!

@@xTwoShoes i did try streaming minecraft and fortnite but i did see more new people coming to see my rogue company streams, while fortnite and minecraft had the same people coming back but not much growth, obviously because they have over 100k viewers and i only have 3-10 viewers :)

I don’t have steam on my laptop and I don’t have a pc either and any other apps…and I don’t know any games or idea how to use or do this with all the and I am trying to get a pc, and other stuff and get into gaming, and other stuff like ASMR, voice acting, cosplay and role playing as well and I don’t know what to do to get started with this and I made a second UA-cam channel and I just need some help and to get started.
I would really love trying to stream at some point since i think i have a decent enough internet connection for it but i don't know why but i feel pressured to have a face cam even though i absolutely despise having my picture taken
Great video! Glad you didn't just throw out a list of games but instead showcased the approach to take for selecting the games that are best to stream as they are constantly in flux Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.
See I just go by what I think will make good content for me. What brings out the best in me and of the show. And I mainly think about what will the audience like to see? What’s within my niche? But I don’t know, lately streams have been quiet. I usually bounce around between different games but I realized that means every time you see me, I don’t really 100% know what’s going on. Maybe people would like to see me being successful and flourishing at a game. So while I am a variety streamer, I take note of which games have been the best for me. What games got everyone chatting? What games did we say at three hours, oh my God I can’t believe it’s been three hours already? What games were people still chatting at by the end of the stream? you know usually my last hour is dead. So I decided to make a schedule so I can be a little more predictable. The first Sunday is multiplayer games as usual. Then the next two Sundays will be the same game whatever game I pick. Then the last stream of the month is Animal Crossing construction. Everyone always tells me to do animal Crossing. But it seems like then when I finally do, it’s not a very exciting Stream. The other problem is, yes I have been taking note of what games do the best so that we can revisit them, over the past six months. However. Age of calamity was one of my best streams in that timeframe. So I decided this month we will revisit that game! Well the turnout has not been great. And if you look at twitch, sometimes there are no people streaming it. It’s very small. Turns out I think the reason why people were so engaged with my first age of calamity Stream, is because the game was only out for two days at that time. I know people were watching me to see if they want to buy the game. They told me! But still, people were just very engaged and they liked watching me get excited about that astrologer. That wasn’t the case this past week. So I’m starting to realize it’s important to align with your niche and play games that bring out a good content, but that timing is also important. And that’s what I hate. Because my method has been to play the new hot games that are coming out for Nintendo. So every stream its a different game. And we know I didn’t like that idea. But it turns out, when asking my audience on Sunday, the people who don’t have the game, they are not interested. And the people that do have the game? They already beat it or they don’t want spoilers.. and while I love having people that can help me in a game, it’s not so fun with people watching you who have already beat in the game and are better than you. I want to enjoy a game together with the audience. So yeah, I don’t know. I know with your method you are going for twitch discoverability. How often would you research this discoverability? I mean if the data suggests it, would you end up changing your game every week or every time? Now that I am talking this through, maybe I can jump on the new games that come out, and if the stream does well, repeat that same game for the next three weeks. If the game doesn’t do well? Jump on to something else the next week. Maybe that should be my game plan. I keep wanting to start playing a game multiple times in a row. I think somebody explained it to me that if I keep switching up the games, somebody will follow me because they love a game, and then come back the next week and they won’t join the stream because the game they followed for is not there. But I don’t know. If I keep the niche similar, maybe it won’t matter. Luckily, I pull my viewers from Instagram so I don’t really count on the twitch discoverability since it doesn’t exist. However, maybe I should start taking into consideration. Not to mention lately I am realizing if a game is not popular on twitch, It probably means it’s not popular with people on Instagram either. Perhaps it’s an overall sign of the popularity of a game
I kinda stopped streaming online co-op games cause its so repetitive,am more like a story adventure kinda gamer, but times have changed and we cant stream whatever we like🙉(to get viewers)
I’ve actually been streaming Skyrim. But I wonder should I stream it to the special edition or just the normal one (my Skyrim is special edition but they are basically the same )
One thing I noticed a lot in this video is that you mention having better titles than other streams, what would class as a 'better title'? Do you have a video on this? If not then do you think you plan to make one on that subject? Otherwise great advise.
(Btw i havent started streaming yet) Sp what i thoguht was a gpod plan was playing games that didnt have WHOLE lot of streamers and veiws (like an older game maybe), but had a decent amount. Then play those games to gain that small community and then grow to more popular games or different topics and stuff
I get what you're saying but I think you should just stream what you like to play. Or before you hit go live pick a game that you have wanted to play for a while, that way you capture the enjoyment of playing the game as well as streaming it. Just my opinion of course, lol
I have the same camera and for some reason my camera setting got reset and my cam quality during streams hasn’t been the same sense. Could you tell me what setting you have on your camera
I love that you are doing like a funnel method with this. Then you were looking at how can you be better? Look at the title! That’s great because I have been fairly successful in Instagram, just now crossing 10,000 followers, and with hashtags and content, the final is exactly how I do things. Do you want to rank high in the low volume tags so you can rank higher in the higher volume tags and it just climbs up from there
What would you consider as very under saturated in terms of numerical estimate? I used to do a lot of Nintendo/Retro games, but completely switched over to JRPGs (I wasn't having fun anymore with doing Nintendo/Retro games). Majority of those niche JRPGs games I've been doing have a following of 25k-60k while other popular JRPGs like Persona around 70k-139k.

I think if its something you enjoy and the chat enjoy I dont see any harm in it:)
@@xTwoShoes I read this in your voice hah! But as far as viewers enjoying it idk I didn’t think so but I guess so if the view count is high. Then again I thibk those are mainly players but idk
Am hoping to stream in twitch , I don’t know is it useful or not since am not growing anything from UA-cam !! Any suggestions
Give it a go!
Wait somone who makes videos, that get to the point, isn’t patronising and makes it clear? Take my sub sir!
Why thank you!! That was so kind:D
I would really love trying to stream at some point since i think i have a decent enough internet connection for it but i don't know why but i feel pressured to have a face cam even though i absolutely despise having my picture taken
You dont need a cam at all:) Just have some fun!
this great advice, thank you!
You're so welcome!
Never thought of it this way tysm 🔥🔥🔥🔥
You are welcome!!

Well done to you!!
I love your videos they are awesome and very informing
Appreciate that so much:)
7:50 yeah but what if they do a 24h stream lol
Great video! Glad you didn't just throw out a list of games but instead showcased the approach to take for selecting the games that are best to stream as they are constantly in flux
Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.
Thank you:D
Thanks Dan! This might actually help me gain some viewers possibly? 🤨
This was the exact video I needed!
Awesome to hear! Thank you!
Wagwan
Thank you bro!!
Thank you! I actually do mention this a lot in my How To ACTUALLY grow on twitch 2021 video:)
Great video my friend!
Thank you brother!
Another amazing video!
Thanks youuuuuuu
another good one to do is Minecraft dungeons
(Btw i havent started streaming yet) Sp what i thoguht was a gpod plan was playing games that didnt have WHOLE lot of streamers and veiws (like an older game maybe), but had a decent amount. Then play those games to gain that small community and then grow to more popular games or different topics and stuff
Trial and error! You could try that for sure but I would recommend definitely trying a game with some amount of viewership!
how often should you change games or should you stick to a game for a couple of weeks?
Typically until I finish it or get bored:)
Something in me makes me wish I was the only one to see this video😂. very informative. Great video!!
Haha you have to welcome the competition:) Thank you so much !
I get what you're saying but I think you should just stream what you like to play.
Or before you hit go live pick a game that you have wanted to play for a while, that way you capture the enjoyment of playing the game as well as streaming it.
Just my opinion of course, lol
For sure:) You HAVE to like the game you pick 100% but also helps if its doing good numbers:)
Brrrooooo - I did a video on this about a year ago, but your explaination is so much better than mine.
Got a sub from me 🤣
Thanks for the sub! Really appreciate that!
Thanks.
Btw what camera do you use?
Its linked in the description:) The ZV1!
What was the name of the website that shows the games buy not alot of views " twitch ___?"
TwitchTracker Ithink
Twitch Strike
I’m hoping century’s age of ashes can help grow my twitch channel and be able to build a community
Best of luck!
