I live in a family that has wavy or straight hiar. No one has curly hair like mines. So when I say something like, I need specific shampoos and conditioners they roll their eyes and say it's fine and that my hair won't fall out. but one day I visited a friend who had natural hair and we did our hairs. the next day my parents were like,OMG ITS SO GORGEOUS. but they won't buy me anything expensive. I mean, at least I have something
Isn't it so annoying that you just want the best for your hair, my family has wavy and curly haired people yet no one teaches how to take care of my wavy hair atleast cause all of them got one solutions to tame your curly or wavy hair, STRAIGTHEN IT!!! I've only just chemically straighten my hair 2 times in my whole life, now i'm embracing my curls and waves but my mom keeps criticizing my hair and touching it when i'm airdrying that's annoying
My mom has curly hair, and dyes and puts heat on it. She buys any shampoo. She thinks it doesn't matter what it is, so I'm buying her sulfate and silicone free shampoo and conditioner, leave in conditioner, protein treatment, and a deep conditioner.
Dollar general! Use shea moisture or herbal essence or aussie! Use aloe vera sometimes! Try to sell some old clothes or sell candy at school to make extra bucks and go on a haul to a beauty supply store or a dollar general and tell them to stop being such dicks and to respect ur curly hair because it takes work and money.
I did the big chop and my hair grew 2 inches already and it’s been only 3 weeks 😃😃😃😃listen to her tips they really work all you need is commitment. She has a good Chanel
Instead of using heat, I use hot water to open up my cuticles , then I apply the deep conditioner, also I have high porosity so I don’t need so much heat to open up, but cold water to close my cuticles .
You are my favorite natural hair blogger. I ditched heat after thanksgiving, started deep conditioning every week and now my hair is almost to my bra which is good considering it was shoulder length in September! THANK YOU QUEEN
I think you should have added a disclaimer with the "deep conditioner in hot water" tip. Usually deep conditioners come in a tub type of container and the way you use it is to just go in and grab a glob with your hands/fingers. This in itself can be a little unsanitary (nothing too bad), but repeatedly raising the temperature of your DC seems like it would create a little bit of a bacterial breading place. So I think you should definitely add something like: if you are going to try this tip, put the amount of DC you want to use in a separate container than the original tub and warm it up that way. Much love
Thanks so much for bringing this up! Just to clarify, I meant putting the conditioner in a hot water bath or double boiler, similar to how you'd melt shea butter or coconut oil without popping it in the microwave. Pump or scoop a little out into a plastic or glass bowl, then place it on top of a cup or second bowl that's filled with hot water. This method is better for gentle heat, but if you just want to hurry up - 10-15 seconds in the microwave will do the trick :)
Hey there :) That's what I thought as well, but just to be sure everyone is on the same page I thought I'd leave a little message haha. Thanks for your message and your in-depth explanations! Much love
Can you start a new type of video comparing products that are similar, but one is more pricey...kinda like a battle of the brands? So happy u hit 200k!!! Yasssss!
You are extremely intelligent, also very charming and personable when you give advice. I have recommended your station to so many people, who have admired my curls since I have followed your instructions. Thank you for all you do for us curly haired girls. I am white, Jewish with a background of family from Eastern Europe (Austria, and Poland) and one grandparent from Ireland. Curly hair runs in my family, and when I was younger, I should have bought stock in products to straighten the hair, since curly hair was not in fashion back then. I grew up in the N.J., where there is only humidity in the summer, so I was able to keep my hair straight. For the past 40 years I live in SE Fla, and wear my hair curly. Prior to your help, it was constantly frizzy, and now my curls are great. Thank you so much for everything you have taught me.
Your length is looking so pretty. I have had good results using the Evolve Platinum Deep Conditioning Cap. It is at Sallys, or Target on-line and costs $2-$5. I put it on, sometimes clean, or maybe light exercise for 20-30min. Your body heat and its special coating heats up naturally. I can use it 4 times maybe before the coating wears thin. I just rinse, dry. and re-use. You can line it with a cheap plastic (like hotel freebie) shower cap if you prefer. Just wanting to help those of us on a budget. :)
Can you please do a curl talk video on gels and what gels might work for different hair types because I am having a little trouble with gels and u always have the best information in your videos please ps. I love u 💙💙 your the best
I thought the same but 3 caps later.. I’ve purchased one for my twin n her girls and one for myself. It’s convenient and last a really long time. The heat last for about 45 mins and when I take it off my hair is still pretty warm. $15 a week would be enough.
Briogio for the win! Their green avocado deep conditioner saved my hair. It's protein free, so if you have low porosity and/or protein sensitive hair, it's absolutely fantastic.
I love your channel! I am so glad I found it. As soon as I saw one of your videos I could not stop watching I had to subscribe! I am on the mission to see them all, let's see how that works out. I am a type 3B 3C hair (learned this from your vids, I had no idea this existed) and I had no idea what products to use for my hair or to avoid silicone or sulfate and so on. Since watching your vids I have purchased some Shea Moisture products, however, I am still learning much more about how to care for my hair and what products are best from your videos. Thank you for helping and informing us curly hair girls with our curls!
I went curly girl exactly one month ago, and have been deep conditioning once a week for 30 minutes. So im excited to start your challenge with a head start! Lol I'm glad you said I could up it to twice a week because I love it haha can't wait to see my before and after!
Bianca, love the info. A friend of mine got a fungus in her scalp and hair loss from leaving a large size in the shower. Be careful heating up the whole product and where you store it. Some of the chemicals in product are there to give longer shelf life or inhibit bacteria growth. Live long and prosper!
So true about checking ingredients instead of assuming based on price/label! I started a weekly thread on NaturallyCurly.com where we compare two products just by their ingredient list. Determining which is high end and which is drug store is a popular topic. We also determine what type of products they are based on ingredients and which ones are going to be more moisturizing. This was very informative!!! Devacurl & Cantu work best for my daughters curls. Wish I found your IG & UA-cam earlier - but this momma did her research & came to the same conclusions that you tell us on your pages 😁 I will def try heating up the deep conditioner in water, as we don't have the fancy heat caps 😔 Thanks again for a great video!!!
I've been inspired by your videos to take care of my hair more. I made a DIY heating cap with rice, and a DIY hair masque, and my mom let me have some silk from her sewing supplies for a silk scarf to sleep in. I bought sulfate/paraben/silicon-free shampoo and conditioner, and my first ever styler products (sulfate/paraben/silicon-free, of course). Thank you for making positive, pleasant videos.
Try covering your hair so it dosent get wet, it’s like a 2 in one lol, protect your hair from the sun and protect your hair from the chlorine. Just my tip 🤗
I would suggest always rinsing your hair with water after going to the pool or beach and then putting in some leave in conditioner or a little bit of conditioner I also put conditioner in my hair before going to swim so the pool/sea water and sun doesn't dry out my hair too much Hope that helps!♡
I don’t believe in “washing your hair once” especially not in summer. If your hair is DIRTY wash it! when I come out of the pool / beach , I put my hair in a deep conditioner for atleast 30 min , if it’s late I keep it in over night , and then I rinse the deep conditioner, wash my hair , and condition it. If I still have to go somewhere , I leave my hair with the deep conditioner because with my 3b / 3c hair , the longer I keep it in the better my curls would look the next day.
Juniper Punch, egg is protien. Its good that it works for your hair but for protien sensitive people, they wouldnt want to use it that often. (Protien sensitivity is like feeling of straw after using protien)
For me the best deep conditioner is drenching my hair in coconut oil, leaving it on at least 12 hours, then washing it off and use a normal conditioner. It feels luscious.
Can you please do a protein treatment video showing your top favorite protein treatments that can be purchased for your local beauty supply store and how you do your protein treatments.
@@karine8738 it actually made my hair better but it did get dry lol. So your friend is right lol. I used the purple, yellow and blue bottles. I forget their names lol.
Gonna try about half of these tips right now 😌 .. I noticed you wearing some of your fave outfits on dote in yesterday’s snap 😍😍 so cute 🤩🧡 Can’t wait till your back on the East Coast, hopefully some time this summer! Ok lemme start my mask day 🧖🏾♀️
Great, informative video, Bianca! I read this article by Christina of Mane Objective back in 2014 which is an amazing article. I deep condition weekly for no more than 25 minutes or even 20 minutes. I own great deep conditioners, but need to make sure my fingernails are smooth since them being jagged could be causing my excessive breakage since 2015.
Glad I already live with these do's and don'ts Haha. I love to deep condition once a week and do face masks/scrubs. It's like a spa day. Being protein sensitive is not great. I still switch up my deep conditioners every couple times but stylers with protein can make my hair feel dry and crunchy so I have to maintain a good balance. A video on that would be great! 😊#curlygirl #snapfam
Thanks! I admit I have looked at Deva Curl Products and other high end products. I am 46 years old, been sold alot of "snake oil" through the years. Since finding Shea Moisture, my waves and curls have never been happier.
OMG! I don’t think it was in this video, but you just saved my hair. I was sitting with a protein deep conditioner on my hair (well over post 20min) as I was watching one of your videos. I was getting ready for bed and was thinking I should just sleep with it on. After you said not to keep protein too long, I googled and found that protein past 20min erodes your hair!!!
At first I was deep conditioning once a month but I started deep conditioning every week for over 1 year .. AMAZING!!!.. much healthier!!..I always sit under my dryer .. these tips for heating up the conditioner is awesome I am deploying in June and wasn't sure what to do THANKS!
i just found you and i am SO glad, i am currently transitioning and i have NEVER treated my curly hair so i am kind of lost and i have learned so much from watching you :)
Doing a protein sensitive video would be AMAZING! I have no idea if I'm protein sensitive or not. Everything I read always says if your low porosity than your protein sensitive but I'm low porosity and I don't feel like I'm protein sensitive but idk! Should I not be using protein? Gahhh the confusion! 😫😩
I use either Shea moisture deep conditioner or, since I ran out, for about a month I've been using Maui's deep conditioner and my hair is super soft. One thing that I do weekly though is rice water. It hydrates my hair and is so soft and shiny.
Dry hair tends to be more frizzy and broken hair also destroyes the look. Deep conditioning can help with dryness and breakage. But you will also need a styling product that will keep the curls intact. Try a gel or mouse or creme depending on your curl type 😊
Oh wow I didn’t know that about the deep conditioner. I am guilty of keeping it in over night. I won’t be doing that anymore! I love these kind of videos😍😍😍 thanks Bianca and Christina!!!
Since my hair is fine but high density, I was doing rice protein treatments instead of deep conditioning but note I think I'll go back to deep conditioning... So complicated sometimes...
I wash my hair separate from my shower and I put my deep conditioner on, put a plastic cap on and sit under my winter blanket...head included. My house is cold so sitting under the blanket for 15 mins or so works great for me. It has made all the difference. That, and ding a couple DC that my hair likes.
Anyone’s hair not like shea moisture? I don’t know why but I’ve tried 2 of their shampoos and conditioners (moisture retention and curl and shine) and their deep conditioner (Jamaican black castor oil) and none of them worked for my hair. The shampoo/conditioners left my hair feeling dry and the deep conditioner worked like the first 1 or 2 times then it left my hair poofy. I keep seeing shea moisture recommended but I’m scared to try their other stuff when none of the products have worked for me. I have 2b/2c/3a hair that’s VERY frizzy and dry. I have high porosity hair.
aale10 Your hair is similar to mine. I do not use the SheaMoisture products you mentioned because I don’t think they would be right for my hair. Would you be willing to try the Manuka Honey and Yogurt line? It has only four items. I like it a lot. If you don’t like it, I believe Ulta will return the items within a certain time period. And on occasion they have 20% off. I also use the coconut line and the peace rose from SheaMoisture. This company has transformed my hair.
Coming from a family where I am the only curly hair member, I’m glad I found this channel. My hair hasn’t been as curly in recent years.. turns out I’m doing a lot of things bad for my curly hair.
I can't wash my hair every week. I have scalp psoriasis and used to wash my hair with medicated shampoo every week 1/2. In doing so my hair didn't grow and was dry and fragile. Ive noticed since using African Black Soap on my hair, and only washing it once a month my hair has flourished. I do braid outs and remoisturize my hair weekly. I might incorporate deep conditioning into that weekly though. So in closing some of us can't wash weekly lol.

I use the natural remedies. But idk if it is either a protein treatment or a deepconditioner treatment:
Egg
Advocado
Honey
Olive oil
Juniper Punch, egg is protien. Its good that it works for your hair but for protien sensitive people, they wouldnt want to use it that often.
(Protien sensitivity is like feeling of straw after using protien)
Juniper Punch I use yogurt, honey and olive oil. It leaves my hair amazingly shiny and manageable

First one to “like” and watch! It’s crazy just how similar the Ingredients are in expensive and non expensive deep conditioners, save your money guys!
Love your channel, contents and energy! Now subscribed👍❤
I love your videos so much, Iook forward to Sunday’s!
I use Mane Choice Egyptian anti-breakage repair mask. So far it's been such a life saver!
I use either Shea moisture deep conditioner or, since I ran out, for about a month I've been using Maui's deep conditioner and my hair is super soft. One thing that I do weekly though is rice water. It hydrates my hair and is so soft and shiny.
Can deep conditioning help with frizzy hair
Analise Vega yes
Dry hair tends to be more frizzy and broken hair also destroyes the look. Deep conditioning can help with dryness and breakage. But you will also need a styling product that will keep the curls intact. Try a gel or mouse or creme depending on your curl type 😊
Analise Vega yea
Yea
I’m on that number one ☝🏼 girl. Sometimes I do overnight but it’s not necessary. I do put an oil on my scalp overnight like almond oil.
Can I just use a microfibre towel to wrap around with a shower cap
Please do the protein treatment video!
Every week!!!To much manipulation causes breakage on my 4c hair. Maybe once in a month
You have been such a huge inspiration to me! Thank you
I am a newbie, love your curls, I will get there soon !
I wash my hair separate from my shower and I put my deep conditioner on, put a plastic cap on and sit under my winter blanket...head included. My house is cold so sitting under the blanket for 15 mins or so works great for me. It has made all the difference. That, and ding a couple DC that my hair likes.
I absolutely loved this video! Perfect to know before mask Monday!
What a coincidence, I divide my hair into sections when I style and deep condition. I used to slap it in and rake it through when my hair was shorter
LOVE THIS LIP COLOUR
Was thinking to heat up a towel in boiling (or really hot water) water and put it over the plastic cap. I'll see how it goes ;)
Congrats on 200k👏🤗
I swear by weekly deep conditioning especially in the winter. What protein treatment do you use? Anyone have any suggestions?
Bryana Camille Braxton I have the same question
I hear aphogee 2 step protein treatment is good. Used it once and it turned out fine.
I recommend if you have high procty you don't have to put hot thingy on your head because you sculp is already open
Can you review a Not your mother’s naturals line?!?!
Your hair is so beautiful!
Coming from a family where I am the only curly hair member, I’m glad I found this channel. My hair hasn’t been as curly in recent years.. turns out I’m doing a lot of things bad for my curly hair.
Alice Is mad same here. But sadly, can't afford shampoo for curly hair so I stick to baby shampoo
Love your energy and humour!!! please can you share the Cantu shea moisture you suggested? thank you!!!
Is it the Cantu Natural Deep Treatment MAsque?
What about hot/warm water to open up hair shafts in the shower and plastic cap and towel to hold in the heat?
I can't wash my hair every week. I have scalp psoriasis and used to wash my hair with medicated shampoo every week 1/2. In doing so my hair didn't grow and was dry and fragile. Ive noticed since using African Black Soap on my hair, and only washing it once a month my hair has flourished. I do braid outs and remoisturize my hair weekly. I might incorporate deep conditioning into that weekly though. So in closing some of us can't wash weekly lol.
Do you use deep conditioner before or after your conditioner?
Splurge watching all your videos, it's helping me out so much in my curly hair journey and so informative, had to change alot in my routine thank you girly !! 🙌 new subby
Not a video now but a video when it’s like June on summer hair care and what to do when you go to the pool and the effects of the Chlorine and what to do when you get out of the pool and how to protect your hair from the sun
