  • Deep conditioning overnight has been a taboo topic for awhile. With so many mix opinions and misinformation, I decided to create this video to address the most common rumors of DCing overnight. In this video I share a few warnings, but also a lot of hope for this rejected method that has helped many along their hair care journeys.

    Always look forward to hearing what you have to share. Thank you. I had a couple thoughts, maybe one could also leave the DC on their hair longer during the day. Many of us (since the pandemic), are working from home and can leave the DC on for the same amount of time during the day instead of doing it overnight. I guess, they could benefit from it this way too.
    Also, in as much as we would keep the DC off our scalp, while sleeping there is a possibility it could touch the scalp, right?
    Just my thoughts.

    • @CurlyChemistry
      @CurlyChemistry  3 роки тому +1

      DC during the day is fine too, in regards to the scalp that's why I mentioned to apply the DC an inch away from the scalp, however if some product does get on the scalp it won't be as much. If you find that this doesn't work, then definitely DC during the day.

    I think a lot of natural's lives would be easier if they just DC w/heat. I used to do the overnight thing but hated prolonging my wash day and it only happened when I would start doing my hair like at 10 PM and I pass out around midnight lol. After introducing heat I can get the same result of overnight after 30 minutes. I do recommend pre-poo hair w/a penetrating oil which made a huge difference in my haircare. Nice video either way, and YES people need to do it on damp hair/not soaking wet

      @The Crusader it is meant as a moisture sealer. For high porosity hair like mine, castor oil is a must-have ingredient otherwise all the conditioning is a waste of time.

    My favorite deep conditioner is between the Mielle Babassu & Mint (only try use once a month since it has protein in it) and my new favorite the Camille Rose Moroccan Pear Conditioning Custard. I’ve had a hard time finding deep conditioners that work and think I finally found them.

    I love how informative your videos are 🥰 hair care backed by scientific information is something I’ve been really into recently. I want to know you opinion about fresh ingredients on natural hair (avocado, banana, sweet potatoes etc) and if our hair is really able to absorb the nutrients from these fresh ingredients even though it (our hair) doesn’t have a digestive system. I love diy deep conditioners but are they effective?

    I don’t necessarily deep condition over night, but when my hair is super dry or just needs some extra moisture, I use my deep conditioner as a leave-in.
    I have low porosity hair that is SUPER protein sensitive and it is so dry, frizzy, split ends, single strand knots. So most of the time on wash days, my deep conditioner is my leave-in, and then I braid my hair up till it’s time for my next wash day.
    So far, it is has helped my hair with retaining moisture longer, becoming more manageable, less knots, less breakage. I also use it as a leave-in because lately the products I used to use, just haven’t been working with my hair lately. My fave deep conditioner is Lavender Quench Deep Conditioner by Camille rose.
    HOWEVER, I did just find and use The Mane Choice kids strawberry moisturizer and green apple leave-in. YALL 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 THE SSSSSSSSSSLIP is so damn great! 10 stars ! And as a leave-in? 10 stars. And they work perfect together. Unlike most products I’ve come across.
    I’m a natural who’s still learning, searching, and doing her best ✌🏼 💛
