Good job😁 I like how you just laughed when you dropped the filter wrench in the oil...I would've been mad😂😂😂😂
Realy good job! like a professional👏👏👏 thank you
Make shure the gasket comes off. Learned that the hard way. Brand new Mobil 1 on the driveway. 🤦♂️
I saw that dunk coming, I just thought it would’ve been the drain plug or filter, lol
Channelock makes an awesome oil filter pliers
Thanks this really really hepled
my 2016 cruze limited has the funny paper one not a metal canister sadly
but would the drain plug still be in the same spot?
Great video thank you so much
gracias saludos desde Argentina...
Piotr.. im thinking of buying chevy cruz diesel. How is the fuel mileage? Is the car worth it? Does the def tank freeze during winter?
Why do you need to heat up the engine? Does this work on chevy sail?
Great video
Very good! Thanks!
Don't forget to add some oil inside the filter so you don't end up having a dry start!
Not a good idea in modern cars. Very sensitive to debris in microns of size. You can easily get a bit of dirt in there that'll blow a bearing/journal/etcetera
@@cwalke32477 exactly
Aaaaah not necessary. U can do that but its totally unnecessary
@@cwalke32477 nope..blow a journal
.. lol
Don’t want to do this
They do make these things called filter wrenches
gracias amigo!
They went to the lighter 0w20 oil in 2018 but I use 5w30 anyways. These gdi turbo engines will dilute the oil anyways down to a 20 weight. The 30wt is light enough imo.
What LOL
i agree with that. the previous MYs used 5w-30, same engine.
@@jordanrobinson5379 20 weight oil increases friction wear on the inside of your engine by 20% over 30 weight oil. If you're trying to make your car last as long as possible, use 5w30 not 5w20.
You really shouldn't use anything other than what the manufacturer recommends. They built the car they definitely know better than you do lol
Very nice video
"Do this at your own risk"? Thats quite reassuring for people who have never done an oil change
First time in this world?
> tighten to 18 ftlbs
I think you mean the torque spec also know as "goodntight"
Exelente video saludos desde Tucumán Argentina i have got a chevy cruze 1.4 thanks for video
Great video! Thank you
Thanks alot
This car uses 0W-20 full synthetic if you have the 4 cylinder
Thanks for the video!
The dealers must use a impact to put the oil filter on or something because i could not take it off to save my life
That passenger side tire could have launched that ramp straight into you...
I have a 2018 Cruze LS and mine uses 0W20. I usually get it changed at the dealer when the oil life gets down to 20% which is usually after 6500 miles driven. The dealer did put 5W30 in it once and I should have taken it back but I just left it in. The only difference I noticed was about 1-2 less MPG. I also use 93 premium in this car because the car runs horrible on 87 gas. With 93 its much smoother running especially at stoplights(I always drive in L6) and it does get better MPG's. I usually get an average of 40 MPG in mixed driving. Also does anyone know how long the batteries last in these cars? I still have the original battery and the car was manufactured in March of 2018 and purchased in September 2018.
@Tristan Ellis Gaming 2017 usa 5w30

Should have opened the hood and taken the oil cap off before you drained it.
how come four hours as shops are an hour ?
It was a joke. Like SpongeBob
I go 2 days.
Tenho um Cruze 2017 1.4 turbo ltz óleo 5x30 Dexos 1 ilsac gf 5 sn vai 4 litros de óleo com o filtro consta no manual
🇧🇷👍
Technically, this vehicle requires 4.5 quarts. Why add anything less?
@All Things Aquarius 21 AND UP that’s why you should do it your self
Technically, the manual said 4.2 quarts..on my 2017 Cruze
Should I change this oil after 15k miles of driving? Seems like a lot. About to change oil on my wife's 2017 Cruze which we had changed 5k mikes ago at Valvoline. Trust me, i don't mind waiting 15k miles as long as it's safe for the car.
I change it when the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON” message shows up or when it is a year old (or sooner).
The dealer ship told me (2018 Cruze) that it didn’t need changed until the light came on. I drove for almost 12k miles and the oil life percentage got to 4% and still no light or message.
I’m a strict believer of changing oil every 3k miles for older vehicles, but the Cruze I wait until oil life gets to 20% or 6k miles since the last, then start planning to change it.
I don’t know if thats “good information”, but I’d rather change my oil too soon rather than too late.
Every 5K max. Don't trust more than that, we're not there yet. Oils cheap cars aren't. And if you drive less than 5,000 miles a year then change the oil yearly.
I do 5000 miles or 6 months
Read your cars manual. Oil is like a religion on UA-cam.
Why turn the car on for a while? I do it when engine is cold and it drains in less than 5 mins.
Oil thickens to syrup when cold so you do it while the engine is at normal running temps to drain the oil and add new oil because it will drain all of it out as the heat turns it to a water like consistency. Also helps make sure you add the right out of oil. The level will change when the engine is hot
@@95Jpollard engine oil is not hydraulic oil, thus the level will not change whether or not your engine is hot, warm, or cold.
Dexos 2 or dexos 1 gen2 on gas engine?
Dexos 1 for gas
Why your car makes that squealing noise ?
Turbo
would be easy if i could FIND WHERE THE F THE OIL FILTER IS UNDERNEATH MY CAR
my car has 0w20 oil.. 1.4T (2018) 🇦🇷
Exactly
2018+ they changed it to 0w20
Oil engin volume is 4.0 L why did you added 3.7 L only
The main reason is that I do not want to overfill it. Once the oil level is at the halfway mark, I am not adding any more oil.
@@PiotrBilek if the oil is halfway, the oil is not full, and therefor is underfilled.
@@JM811Carsif the oil is between min and max on the dipstick you are fine. Somewhere in the middle is fine
What torque setting did you use???????
I went back and double found my answer 18 ft lb
4 hours later lmao😂
Poke a hole in the oil filter with a nail and let it drain out for a cleaner job.
Mine calls for 0-20
5w30.... That's Chevy's recommendation for the 1.6Ldiesel. 0w20 if you have the 1.4L gas
You’re wrong. Read the manual. Says 5w-30
Lol Not wrong... Been doing this for a few years now. Not to mention I'm an independent research engineer for general motors, so you would think I would know what I would be talking about. 5-30 for diesel 0-20 for gas. I also designed the throttle retention PCB and the gear reducer with the spring coilover pack on the throttle body, I was and still is a part of the team for the luj and the Luv oiling system and galleries. Not to mention the oiling system for the turbocharger. The turbocharger was designed to have a high spin up rate for low input, high torque and high throttle response at low RPM to reduce turbo lag. because of this it's an unconventional system that requires a thin fluid. 5-30 would be too thick for the oil galleries. For short running intervals 5-30 wont mean too much but over a period of time you would see bearing surfaces start to reduce its chrome plating from lack of fluid film, and flow. Your oil samples would show high chromium high iron and high titanium. Less fluid flow means less thermal transfer, which means a hotter Turbo, which means your inlet charge temp engine side needs to remove more energy from the compressed air, which it can't do because it was designed to remove a certain amount of kjoules/kg max. Not to account for the extra heat added from a poorly maintained oiling system from a high energy dissipated Turbo. This then reduced quality of burn and flame front.... You can still say that I'm wrong but I'm just letting you know that ....I'm not lol
I mean I can upload a video of you showing that it clearly says 5w-30 on the oil cap. I don’t know how you think you’re right though. Even wrote about your life. I don’t care…. Cap says 5w-30. I think I’ll stick with that than a UA-cam mechanic that says a car needs 0w-20 😂
First of all you don't have to be rude, you called me out on my comment and I'm calling you out on yours. I don't really care what your cap says or your manual it could be a one-off but all of the cruises that I have seen or have worked on myself in research have been 0-20. And I don't care about your video that you're going to send to me for some reason. Your video kind of means nothing in some ways. Again ....it may be a one off. You have nothing to go off other than something that someone wrote for you, which again could be a mistake depending on the version code in your vin
@@Atvstevie1 cool story. ill stick with the manufacturer's instructions =)
Title should read 2017 and older ? 18 and up check your manual.
Why do "experts" watch how- to videos???
Not hard at all.
Better than a cartridge filter.
Obviously, you’re on your way to becoming an expert. Keep practicing 🙄
Too painful to watch....
