By mentioning in the beginning the facts that there isn't a Power Steering fluid reservoir because this car has electric power steering - that would have helped a lot.
Oh my goodness thank you so much! I just got my first Car and no one would help me on how to change my window washer fluid! This video was clear, to the point and extremely helpful!!
@@Carlos-ms8zh I hate it!! The 2011 model sucks! GM sent me a letter bc they were recalling those cars but they never reimbursed me 😒 dont buy chevy cruze from that year, just dont buy small cars from Chevrolet
@@elviavargas834 dang, that sucks to hear... they should of reimbursed you.... I have a 2014 chevy cruze right now... 6 months with it and no problems so far... but I heard the coolant system is an issue on these cars
@@Carlos-ms8zh yeah they knew how to get away with it😒 oh well hopefully ur car does okay bc mine gave me peace for 3 months and then started hating me 😤 yeah these cars are way too defective
For everyone in the comments I’m pretty sure all cruzes do not have power steering. They are electronically assisted. I have a 2011 and I have the electronically assisted steering
having the same issue.. I'm starting to think it may not have power steering fluid and may be fully electric but I can't say. Let me know if you had any luck.
My car is identical. The problem I'm having right now is my first problem the washer fluid will not spray out. I filled it it was working before now nothing. The wiper goes back and forth I can hear the humming where it's trying to pump but nothing's coming out. What should I do?
THE CRUZE ENGINE RUNS AT 227 DEGREES. DEXCOOL 50/50 MIX BOILS AT 240 DEGREES. This is not enough margin to prevent boiling as the coolant heat soaks after shut down. I fixed my boiling problem by simply draining coolant and going with straight undiluted dexcool. Now I have boiling protection up to 28 Degrees. no more boiling at all. These cruse engines run much hotter than we are all used to, and thus require undiluted dexcool, not a 50 50 mix.
Jonathan Smith my fluid is somehow getting low but I have no leaks..how is that? And I need to top it off but not sure what the exact coolant I need to buy is. All I know is that it’s red just like in the video
Haha are you serious? The 50/50 mixture is recommended for a reason. Water is what extracts heat the best, the "coolant or antifreeze" green, pink, blue, yellow etc. is mainly there to act as a lubricant, corrosion inhibitor, and most of all anti freezing. I don't know how I even got to this video but this was the first comment, UA-cam mechanics these days...
Coolant is labeled as Dexcool. Just buy the 50/50 pre mix and top off the reservoir. Common leaks on this model year cruze are found at the resevior itself cracking and leaking and the water pump as well (sometimes hard to tell if it is leaking). Take it to a shop so they can pressure test for leaks, otherwise might just have to top it off. Doubt you'll have any head gasket issues but it's not impossible, idk the mileage...
I love my cruze.I don't drive much. I have 14, 300 actual miles. Great condition. I have the sport package plus added bling on the frt quarter panels. These little cars will scoot let me tell you lol. And why in heavens name they didn't put a button r lever to pop the trunk I will never understand.
After it hits 100k it starts becoming garbage. My 2012 with 109k constantly needs different repairs and will feel kind of weaker some days than others for sure. And the key fob is trash, It will open my trunk multiple times a day sometimes when they’re in my pockets and I’m wearing anything tighter than gym shorts. But hey, maybe that’s just me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks wanted to know where my antifreeze level should be. Clear, concise, to the point. Nice video.

Thank you for this! I think my engine coolant is low and this video helped me to recognize that.
Make sure you top it off when car is cold.
Thank you for this tutorial! I am a single mom so It came in handy!!
Any specific anti freeze / coolant for chevy cruze 2014? Or i can use any brand or type
Check your owners manual to be 100% sure but i have a chevy cruze 2014 and mine uses "Dexcool" 50/50 mixture. It comes in a gallon jug from prestone.
Exactly what I was looking for thanks 🎉
So there's no power steering fluid reservoir on the car since its electric but my light is on. What can activate the light?
For everyone in the comments I’m pretty sure all cruzes do not have power steering. They are electronically assisted. I have a 2011 and I have the electronically assisted steering
What about power steering fluid? Where is that located on the cruze

make sure the holes where the liquid comes out at are not clogged with leaves, dust ect.
John Orlando you are 100% right. Thank you. I stuck a safety pin in both of them and wiggle it around and you were right there clogged.
No problem to help! That's what we're for
I'm having the same issue!!!!!

@1:31 There are 4 sections on the dip stick but mine is only showing oil on 3. How much do I need to add?
Where is the power steering 2012 Chevrolet Cruze located? It's showing a warning on the dashboard. does it mean the fluid is low.
It's electric. No fluid necessary
Where does power steering fluid go????
Whats that odd shaped box on the top left hanging down at 2:18 @repairED
Wow! Super clean!
If you can't get the job you want watching UA-cam you definitely need the Bible 😂😂😂
Do you know where the power steering is located
My power steering warning light is on!!!!
Watch it again he clearly shows where it is in video if you have not gotten the minor issue fixed.
Dolores M He doesn't show anything to do with power steering. He shows the Engine Oil dipstick the Coolant, Brake Fluid and Windshield Washer.
There is no power steering pump. It is an electric steering rack.
No fluids to check.
Cruze has an electric power steering motor . No more fluid to check :)
