Ty. This has been really helpful. I'm going to change my stat as it also acts as a poppit valve. I changed water pump and wasn't getting any pee to come out. None of my holes a clogged.
Thanks for the video but can the thermostat keep the motor from Peeing? I've clean the pee hole and it still won't pee. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks
That thermostat looks stuck open to me so the passage thru it must be blocked if the head felt hot, I just replaced a stuck closed one and wasn’t getting much water out exhaust, when they are closed a small amount of water still passes but not much, stuck open should not run hot, I am adding pee orifice too
So does the water go through thermostat before it gets to tell tale? Why does it need to close? What is the negative of just removing it and having water flow around head at all times instead of only when thermostat opens?
On a 2 stroke its ok to run without a thermostat and yes it will still pee it controls the water going through the jacket on the head u just cannot remove on a 4 stroke that has a computer the downfall is that it keeps the motor temp regulated for easier start-up during winter other than that u won't see any other changes other than motor running cooler

Recommend changing thermostats every 2 years every 1 year used to be the recommendation
