How much does a repair like this cost??
@@fleet_street215 Did you ever figure out how much the repair cost?
is there an option of the lower spring perch for a 1997-1998? do you think this part will work?
Best video I’ve seen yet, step by step you guys are 😎 awesome
Thanks for checking us out Catrina. Glad you liked the video!
Great job. I’m needing to do mine soon. Your video helps me out to understand what I need to do. Was a nice video to explain what to expect.

Good video, needed to replace my front coil spring isolators. Like the Trump banner!
Thanks for watching buddy.
Doing this to my Jeep right now. Just looking to see how you all did it. Mine is rotted on both sides and I’m probably gonna drop the whole axel.
I have a Rough Country 4.5” lift on my 2002 limited.
Hope this helps you out.
Good job! I think I would have used arc welder for metal that thick.
Thanks for watching
Great job guys, very informative video on the process. Dont have the gear to do mine but got a quote for $800 for one side or $1200 for both sides - seems a bit steep even in 2023. What do you think?
Yeah that is the I don't wanna do it price.
Brilliant job. Shame we can't get the mounts in the uk.
Thanks for watching our Jeep Grand Cherokee spring mount repair video
Are you guys located in Mass? I've got an 04 grand cherokee that needs the drivers side done and don't know who to bring it to.
We are in Mass but not open to the public.
Greath job brothers.... thank you !!!!
Thanks for watching!
When these are bad does the front end wobble?
It may lead to a death wobble situation.
Awesome videos! How much would something like this cost? Only labor??
You would probably be looking at around $350 in labor. It's a little involved.
Thank you so much
Off hand what does a job like that cost driver side say if you don't mind please. Thank you very much I appreciate it.💯👍
Probably around $400 bucks
How much would you estimate this repair would cost? Judging by the accent, sounds like you guys are from the Mass area (I live in CT). Are you guys willing to quote me to do this job for both driver and passenger side? I feel comfortable doing most of this work with exception that I don’t have an acetylene torch or welder so beyond my capability. I’ve been driving with the driver side spring coming half off for almost 6 months now but still seems fairly wedged in well. Not doing any off roading and driving like a grandma on the streets. Tough decision to make cause the repair cost may be more than the value of the vehicle (2002 with 170k miles). Seems silly to sell or junk the vehicle for only this reason.
Hi Jay, We only have a couple of customers that we do repairs for. It is a job that is kind of involved. You may want to get an estimate for a few smaller repair shops to see how much it would be. Labor was about 3-4 hours for this repair.
When this brackes god bad/gone, does it afect driving handling?
If the mount totally gives way then the coil spring will fall out. It probably will not cause anything noticeable in the handling until it completely fails and that is what we are trying to prevent here.
@@HomeOwnerRepair thanks for your answer
Do y’all have any info for the rear perch plates?
Not at the current time
the Amazon link says the part not available , is there another place to get these?
I have to replace the driver side front spring perch on my 95 grand cherokee cuz it's just about bluetooth. I don't have torch or plasma cutter so I guess I just have to chip away at it with my grinder lol.
Thanks for watching. Don't forget to sub the channel to receive all of our latest uploads.
Dorman also makes a bolt on, about $50.

Thanks for watching
I pulled my whole axel off. You don’t want to melt those bushings or brake lines
Thanks for watching
Need this repair on both passenger /driver side live in southeastern ma 02780 would you be willing and able to do job, have 2003 jeep grand Cherokee ,names John
Thank for watching John. We currently do not have a repair shop that is open to the public
Wow. How will I find a mechanic to do this properly? 😥
Any decent mechanic should be able to do this.
I had to schedule mine with a body shop
Anyone dropping their axle far enough to remove the springs, remove the driveshaft first! The pinion gears in those front axles don't like all that vertical torque.
Thanks for the added tip!
What? I never had to do that. People flex there axles enough to drop a spring all the time
Castle nut not crown bolt.
Thanks for watching
At 17:44 I was really hoping he didn’t slip and lose his finger. 😬

Jeep should have done a recall
These Jeeps are getting old now and we're in New England so southern Jeeps probably won't have this issue. We're in the rust belt.
Id take that white car out... It'll be full of rusty hot metal shards off the grinder..
No cars were injured during this video
