Damn, as KG retires from a Hall Of Fame NBA career, just look at how totally dominant he was back in the day, in high school. What an absolute beast he was!
Look how scronny KG used to be! But for real, i love Kevin. Loved him while he played here in 'Sota and now while he beasts in Boston. He deserves every bit of what he has now. KG4 MVP
@Airman32292 Ratings don't mean anything. Do you know how many players are rated highly and don' succeed? In this case KG round up being a great player. History, KG was kicked out of his orignal school and came to Farragut. He was part of Ronnie Fields team.
I watched Garnett in HIghschool. I live in STL and his school would routinely play the best city school in STL. Also note, he wasn't the best player on his team. Ronnie fields was. Ronnie got injured the summer before he was supposed to go pro.
Garnett might have the edge on athletism but if Duncan is a better low post player, not as explosive as KG but a better defender, on assist I think both can throw a pass really well. Judging on rings might not be fair but it all comes down to that in Springfield yknow?
crazy how kg wasnt even the star on that farragut team...i remember being a lil kid and hearing about kg and fields they were local celebs...crazy how time passes by so fast here we are with kg in his 30's getting ready to retire in a few seasons
@blaaket123 really they dont mean anything? Yeah they dont guarantee the person for stardom, but a pretty fair number of #1 rated high school players have been studs. FYI he wasnt kicked out he left, but back to the point considering he was the first person who made the jump from high school to pros in 20 years dont try to tell me that Ronnie was better. KG was the national hs player of the year, mr. bball for illinois, and mvp of the mcds all-american game.
I am a HUGE Shawn Kemp fan, but seriously, you think he is overall better than guys like Kevin McHale, Charles Barkley, Dennis Rodman, Karl Malone, Bob Petitt, Elvin Hayes, Dirk Nowitzki, or even Chris Webber? I would rank ALL of those guys ahead of Kemp personally. I like your list for top 3 personal favorites, but going by skill level, stats and accomplishments Kemp is a couple tiers below the other guys unfortunately. He does have 1 of the best player shoes of all time though, Kamikaze II's!
*Duncan has a career field goal percentage of .507 while Garnett's career field goal percentage is .498...This means more of Duncan's shot attempts go into the basket compared to Garnett's. Maybe Garnett's percentage would be higher if he quit taking more outside shots and played the POWER FORWARD position the way it was meant to be played...in the paint.
I'm not even getting into this stupid debate over who's better. They are both 2 of the greatest to ever play the game, they each have their differences, but I think we can all agree that they both make their teams SO much better, and will both be remembered as hall of fame players at the top of their position. But c'mon, Garnett is the better pure shooter by a landslide.
Tennessee and Texas are two completely different oranges and Mauldin orange not like either one of themm. Tennesse orange is lighter orange and Texas is a burnt orange and Mauldin is the normal color orange.
KG I meant joined Boston in the 2007-08 season. Malone is one unreal power forward but he was no Kevin Garnett. Garnett changed the power forward position defensively. He is a lot better defensively than Malone and Duncan. So in my opinion top 3 power forwards of all time 3.Malone 2.Tim Duncan 1.Kevin Garnett.
i don't understand how can someone grow to be around 7 foot, tallest people that i come across are hitting the 2meters mark meaning 6'7"-6'8" and that is awfully tall.. unless you live in the Netherlands then u will see a lot of those LOL
So your argument for Duncan being a better shooter is that Duncan has a measly 0.9% edge in FG%? Yet your next sentence indicates that you must realize that Garnett has a deeper range than Duncan. So if Garnett is shooting the ball from further away, yet averages basically the same % wouldn't that make him the better shooter? Or do you think that if someone dunks it 5 times in a row, they are just as good of a shooter as someone who hits 5 3 pointers in a row?
@strikername He wasn't better than Garnett when they were playing together. He did put up crazy-ass numbers his senior year when he was a one man team that were better than what Garnett put up the year before but that's not a fair comparison. Garnett had to share the ball with Fields after all.
Easily are you ok honestly. TIM had 4 rings cause he had great players with him to get them. I know he played the best out of them but he had great players around him unlike KG in Minnesota if Garnett was with a great team we would have seen how many championships he would have had. 2008 he joined Boston won it that year. Got injured before the playoffs in 2009 they would have won it out. 2010 got to the finals game 7 Perk got injured would have won don't care what anyone says.
kg became great because of the passion he has for the game, pure and simple
just unbelievable, it was when he was probably 19 years old. really envious of his talent. still his diehard fan. from China now study in UK
If he was in high school he may have been younger than that...
THE GREATEST POWER FORWARD IN NBA HISTORY KEVIN GARNETT.
Damn, as KG retires from a Hall Of Fame NBA career, just look at how totally dominant he was back in the day, in high school. What an absolute beast he was!
wow... he even had great footwork in high school!!!!
oh man. he was already crazy intense
Look how scronny KG used to be! But for real, i love Kevin. Loved him while he played here in 'Sota and now while he beasts in Boston. He deserves every bit of what he has now. KG4 MVP
That music though....
LOVE AND RESPECT KG, GREATEST EVER
thats what I call talent!!!!
This dude had a 7'5 wingspan! His arms don't even look real👉👀👈 He can touch the floor standing up straight ☝️
man just look at him virtually unstoppable but then again hes unstoppable in the NBA too
That's true, he was grazy! And he is still. But u have to be who u are, It's nature. One of the gratest, hands down...
love watching beast nba players in highschool. They completely dominated.
holy crap he was a monster in high school
He was a man amongst boyz plain and simple
Just don't understand how he didn't win state at Farragut with Ronnie Fields....crazy
There's been Stacked High School, College and Pro Teams with a lot of Talent yet Never Won a Championships
I think they lost to tae streets and Melvin Ely. Ely was in the league and Tae Streets played in the NFL
loyal subscriber here.. always great stuff bro.

KG graduated the same year I did (not same school) and I'm sad that his career is almost over...makes me feel old.
Good mix.. brings back to when he was a timberwolf... scary when he was beating he teammate brains in
Not in high school yet. Check out Shavar Newkirk.
It’s crazy he came from out here
if he would have gone to college where would have he gone depaul?
I watched Garnett in HIghschool. I live in STL and his school would routinely play the best city school in STL. Also note, he wasn't the best player on his team. Ronnie fields was. Ronnie got injured the summer before he was supposed to go pro.
oh man i fucking love the way he plays, reminds me of my 2m tall friend, it was hell hard to get around him
dats whats up ..dats where he from..im from orangeburg ..dis shit crazy dat he make it outta sc..
Nice vid, it's good to watch.
Back in 94 they used to play on those small ass hoops at 1:14.
lol he still goaltends after the whistle and is like super intense
KG had a flattop in his rookie season.
Sweet, good footage.
Jeez, you guys didn't have to give me all the thumbs down.
Great tribute as usual.
Thats my school, mauldin woot woot
What's the height for HS rims?
Garnett might have the edge on athletism but if Duncan is a better low post player, not as explosive as KG but a better defender, on assist I think both can throw a pass really well. Judging on rings might not be fair but it all comes down to that in Springfield yknow?

Back in the baggy era.
Man had his shorts hanging bout 6 inches off his waist jajaja
Damn remember when big men used to play in the paint? If KG was in high school today his highlight reel would be 3s
Lol, Or Him guarding Guards
whats the guys name in 23?
Such a shame he didn't get to play his senior year at Mauldin
Nah, but Chicago was the showcase
the one time in his life where KG had hair
that was very moving
anythings possible.........
I Love KG

LMAO, What's with your Stupid Ass Comments?
that dunk where he flies through the air sideways at 1:43 and 1:52 should be the garnett logo
0:47 he is still doing that move after dunk

Garnett without doubt is the more interesting player to watch
Tennessee and Texas are two completely different oranges and Mauldin orange not like either one of themm. Tennesse orange is lighter orange and Texas is a burnt orange and Mauldin is the normal color orange.
Who’s here because he’s going into the hall of fame?
In this video he looks like any other 6'10 kid playing in highschool
@garnetttribute not true, my school has 6 ft tall hoops, then again we cant even afford a janitor so that might have something to do with it XD
being a minnesota native makes me wanna cry when I watch this video, we got some of the dumbest GMs in the US no matter what the sport is
He went to my high school
KG I meant joined Boston in the 2007-08 season. Malone is one unreal power forward but he was no Kevin Garnett. Garnett changed the power forward position defensively. Young KG looks like a mix of Big L and A.O. from And 1
you just gonna ignore karl malone?
sweet
he is so tall indeed
Yeah Class of 2010.
Ah...one late SAT-test result away from him being a Michigan Wolverine for a year or two. *sigh*
He looks like Manute Bol out there.
Did anyone notice that at 2:025 while in the pink jersey he is wearing jean shorts haha
those pink uniforms at the beginning of this video. what high school men's basketball team would want pink uniforms???
There not pink there orange
He actually looks pretty awkward offensively. He looked a lot more comfortable on the defensive side in this video
@chris23duke
Well he was pretty light.
i played on that court!
Garnett is not a center. He is a power forward and has been his whole career.
He also played Center
Worst music choice in the history of youtube
@dadsa exactly
@garnetttribute Thank you, what the hell is that guy talkin about
For Garnet to be so intense, this music is the exact opposite lol
enemy of the state main theme
at 0:24 the man in wit da b balls in his hand is like can i have that ball ok thx i guess ur usin it
i don't understand how can someone grow to be around 7 foot, tallest people that i come across are hitting the 2meters mark meaning 6'7"-6'8" and that is awfully tall..
unless you live in the Netherlands then u will see a lot of those LOL
he shoulda went to hillcrest (HS down the street from mauldin) Ram nation. but KG is a beast tho, i'm going to hillcrest next year lmao
@coolereo80
that's true hahaha. just thought he dunks so hard that its possible
surprised it aint break

he could out jump everyone, its not fair!!!!
the ending music sounds like a tragedy just happened
im guessing age
why did kg go bald
?
MJ
