I think this is how progression is going with NGS. Its the same as what happened with base game requiring prerequisite augments for bigger and better ones.
I honestly think its fine as its not required and is a goal for the long term.
The problem is that gear itself is a big unknown on if it will be replaced soon or not which makes augmenting worrisome cause you don't want to upgrade something that is going to get replaced immediately.

Yeah, needing hundreds of some of these rare drop augs is just absurd. Like Gigas Maste for example: 30 gigas augs and 10 fusia x10 for a 70-80% chance to aug on 4x pieces of gear, maybe more if you want to use more than one weapon. That's 1200 rare gigas caps for just four pieces of gear and that's assuming they all succeed. You could probably run the math, and it'd take years before someone not whaling would be able to get these chase augs on all their gear. It's almost like gearing in this game is only intended to be a conspicuous consumption signaler to separate whales from the have-not F2P players.

This is a great way to make meseta, and there are plenty of other affix options. We don't need that extra 1%

It's important to note that if you go the multi-weapon route mentioned at 13:01, you still need to use your current main class' PAs to get the bonus from the Defi capsules. The instant you use an attack that doesn't correspond to your main class' weapon, your bonus is nullified until you do a main class PA again.
Example: Assume that you play as Bouncer/any subclass, clear the quest with Jet Boots, no problem. Then you switch to Ra/Bo and multi-weapon Rifle onto your Jet Boots. In that case, you must use Rifle PAs. If you do a Jet Boots PA, it won't benefit from the Defi augment bonuses. If you have Defi Eriss augments, it'll even revoke the damage reduction provided by them.

the boss is so much different to this video. I am not sure if they updated to make it more aggressive or what but it immediately rushes and is relentless. I don't even get a chance to charge machine guns before it rushes me. i get 2 shotted (usually in quick succession) with full defi augs on all 4 sets of gear and running level 90 weapons and gear at level 90 gunner/force.

The Defi 2's are getting cheaper by the minute since they are given guaranteed right now from the Sonic LTQ.
To get the minimum of about 7 or 8 most would probably need its barely any meseta if you grab the Ceires, Haumeas, Eriss, or Sednas ones.
Can also wait like a lot of people did for the Phase 1's where alot of the capsules are only a few thousand today but hundreds of thousands in the first few days they were released

Would you suggest a Relik Rod over a Greaga Rod; especially if there's a fixa to make up the potency gap; as the little benefits of PP management is presented on the Rod's potential.

List of good weapons for this are Greaga, Relik, Codeck, Rugged, Obsidia, Revita, Gunblaze or Neos Astraean.
All of them are comparable and have their uses. Of course the higher in rarity, the more dmg but it is going to cost more resources/meseta to upgrade

I really wish SEGA would not add things like this that are only worthwhile for a single purpose, making them a dreadful investment except for hardcore players or people who want to show off.
I think they need to provide an NPC who sells or trades for pre-augmented sets for these quests. That way it opens it up to more players, and means you don't have to have the same degree of understanding of augmenting to have aq suitable build.

Just wait till July for a fully maxed potential and level 60 seasonal weapon. The seasonal event should drop around the 5th or whenever the 11th-anniversary starts, so it shouldn't be a problem for upgrading costs for you if you have no problems with waiting
