    Hey everyone, it's that time once again! In this, I use meseta as the baseline for my builds as that is mainly what determines what new players versus what veteran players can use to augment with. Also explain how you can get these augments or capsules outside of the personal shop normally. Hopefully this augment guide helps you out!

    Thanks for doing videos like this as refreshers. Super helpful for people coming back to the game not knowing anything or struggling to find the proper videos or pages with relevant info.

    Please keep up with AUGS guide eventually, a bit of guidance is always welcome, i stopped to play when they launched Leciel, and want to return to the game at some time..

    These kind of videos are very helpful especially to new or returning players. I have seen from time to time players putting very expensive augments (like Glan and Lux) on weak gears like seasonal weapons. People really need to pay attention to such videos so they are not throwing their hard earned meseta away.

    Awesome video and really appercaite you giving the presentation, I never really play NGS after I hit max level after updates come out but this got me a lot more interested in the end game. Really glad I stayed subbed despite only checkign in on NGS every few months

    Advice I would give semi-casual players like me - make your armor universal for all classes to save resources.
    (meaning don't use melee/ranged/tech specific augments on armor, use those on the appropriate weapon instead, if you have to or choose to use them).

    Just a heads up, according to Arks Visiphone's article on the damage formula[1], damage variance only applies to WEAPON attack, not the player's total attack.
    For example, at level 73, my total attack as a fighter is 2779, of which my weapon attack only constitutes 1000. This means variance only applies ~36% of my attack.
    As such, to me a 50-100% weapon variance would in reality only apply an 82-100% variance to my to my total damage (not to be confused with the 82% in his tank numbers).
    This makes potency raising augments significantly less useful since they only increase the minimum of a variance on a small part of total damage.
    Secondly, the way you arranged the slide implies variance is applied to the bonus potency itself. Bonus potency is applied AFTER calculating base ATK + Weapon ATK * variance - DEF, which means you get the full 168.1% damage bonus all the time. What I'm trying to say is, the base is what is being varied, the multiplicative bonus is consistent.
    Thirdly, and this is moreso of a nitpick, the slide also implies 168.1% is the final potency, when you are in fact talking about bonus potency (A difference of x1.681 vs x2.681 damage).
    All of the above points can be applied to the tank numbers as well.

      This is just for what the weapon is doing yes but the multipliers and ranges stay the same. Think of it like the range your weapon is being multiplied by (since thats the only thing that has a range).
      Lets take out the specific scenario cases of weapon attack, player attack, enemy defense and the after multiplier of the 0.2 in the calculation. What you are left with is (Variance * Damage Multipliers) and that is what I did to show the ranges of your weapon. Only looking at potency from gear and augments as the "Damage Multipliers" of course as there are other multipliers such as weakpoints, addons, and more that are going to vary based on scenario to scenario and not useful for a general guide.
      Then you could apply those percentages from the range to whatever your weapon's attack is to show the actual attack values of what your weapon could do.
      Everything else like (player attack - enemy defense) is a flat bonus on top for your final damage numbers. Just can't forget that flat bonus also gets multiplied by the same damage multipliers (i.e. augments, blight round, etc).
      TLDR: I am showing the weapon's variance multiplied with the gear's potency to show the range and nothing else because no other numbers in the game have variance and are flat bonuses or penalties on top.

      To show the math behind it...
      You can take the original calculation:
      (WeaponAtk*Variance+PlayerAtk-EnemyDef)*Damage Multipliers*0.2
      And turn it into this:
      [(WeaponAtk*Variance)*DamageMultipliers + (PlayerAtk-EnemyDef)*DamageMultipliers)]*0.2
      Which I sliced out the first portion:
      (WeaponAtk*Variance)*DamageMultipliers
      Then I took out the weapon attack and only showed the percentage range instead of the flat value range if I kept weapon attack in:
      Variance*DamageMultipliers

      One last thing because I think your comment is great to talk about, its unfair to say your player attack is the bulk of your damage and floor potency has way less value because it doesn't apply to that specific portion.
      The reason I say that is because you are ignoring that your player attack is being subtracted by the enemy's defense. So, you could theoretically have let's say 10000 attack which if the enemy had 0 defense means a huge number being multiplied by a ton but if the enemy has 9999 defense, that attack is not going to matter much at all.
      So, in some cases you are correct where if you are facing a weak enemy with low defense, then floor potency barely makes a difference in dps compared to regular potency which affects everything. Just need to think about the rest of the cases, like in endgame content, where floor potency retains a lot of value because your attack is being subtracted a lot more. Thats why I say in the end, it comes down to how much critical hit rate you have for which build is overall better for you

      @@CriticasterQ True, I had not considered enemy defense. The main reason why was I had a hard time finding actual defense values for enemies, which meant I had no reference on how much they actually impact damage, and thus left them out. I get what you mean however, with how higher potency floors help offset the flat reduction of enemy defenses.
      I understand now in the video you were specifically speaking of the potency's impact on the variance, which I missed initially and thus assumed you were talking about total damage. Sorry for misunderstanding.
      Still, I would like to highlight the 3rd point in my original comment.
      To clarify a bit, assuming you meant to display the final damage variance a player would output, the damage for the Mid DPS build should have been 134.05-268.1% instead of 84.05-168.1%, and the tank build should have been 179-218.3% instead of 97.1-118.3%.
      The reason I say this is without any weapons equipped, the player's damage multiplier would still be 1, or 100% (if it was 0, or 0%, the player would be dealing no damage since anything multiplied by 0 is still 0).
      Any potency gained from equipment is listed in-game as +x%. That is to say, if I have +50% potency, my total potency would be 150%, or a multiplier of 1.5. Likewise, if I had +168.1% my total potency would end up being 268.1% or a 2.681 multiplier.
      By treating the bonus potency as the final potency, the difference in the minimum damage will appear smaller, while the difference in maximum damage will appear bigger.
      To use a bit more math, taking your example with
      [(WeaponAtk*Variance)*DamageMultipliers]
      it's as if you had instead calculated:
      [(WeaponAtk*DamageMultipliers-WeaponAtk)*Variance]

    godsent ty! is there a way to discern what augments i need to keep/get rid of? i have a shitton of weak augments i want to get rid of but i dont know if i can just throw them away/sell them or put them on the AH

      Anything that I showed here from the mid range and up is worth selling on the player market at the moment. If you aren't sure on what to sell though, for anything, you can check the market price by clicking on an item and it will show what people are selling the item for from lowest to highest.
      For the cheap augments, it kind of depends if its an augment that people want to use. Triyals are an example of this since they are new and have good potency. They are just cheap because there is a lot of supply and not everyone wants their drawbacks.
      Personally, I never convert to meseta any of the "trash" augments that no one is buying because there is always a chance it could be used as a material for some other augment in the future

    Question...if you have Aug protects, does it only protect one Aug at a time? I saw on the PSO2 NG site that it says one Aug protect will protect ALL augs tried. So say I used a Lux, Gladia Soul, Grand Dread, etc. will it protect all of them if any or all fail or just one of those slot augs? I'm so afraid to lose em. I grinded my little sad sap penniless self for days to get them 😂

      Aug protects technically protect all of the augments at once but if 1 augment fails and the rest succeed, they all still get refunded and none of them stick. So, the best practice is to use aug protects on a single type of augment at a time that is expensive, like Glan Gigas Maste for instance.
      I really wish Sega would change it so if any succeed, they stick and if any fail they get refunded, but I doubt they will ever update it that way

    LC augment considered as high range with time investment if there is not doing event exchange?

      They take no time at all to get in Leciel Exploration, there is even an exchange for them with Growthment

      There aren't any hyper expensive tank augments which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. You can combine some of what I showed in the mid and high range (like Mastery IV, Gua Triplble, and Dread Keeper V) to make an insanely tanky build, especially if paired with fixa guard on your armors. I don't really recommend going that route though except for just messing around with a silly build like that because most of the endgame content in the game has a time limit, that if you aren't pushing for more potency, makes it impossible to complete

      @@pspirit1459 One of the more recent weapons with a tank potential is a Melek Weapon with the Vigorous Unit: Deux potential. It gives 20% Damage Resistance and +25% Restasigne HP Recovery

    😂 I will use what I get from activities. Carft those capsules that requires 10000000 other capsules for an armor that will last only 3 months is not worth my time
