3:37 imagine being in the ocean for 2 days waiting for rescue, and when they finally arrive they treat you like that hahahaha.
Beggars can’t be choosers
Wonderful as always. Great to hear and learn a tiny bit of the various procedures.
Loved those Orcas.
Thank you
Great video! Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks for watching :)
The dacon scoop ! I used to hate this exercise, slow and boring, especially if you were on nightwatch and all you want to do is sleep a bit. Lol. Them were the days.
Whats the cash like out there now, wasn't particularly great when I was there, earn much more now as a decorator but I do miss working on the sea
Probably not had a pay rise since you were in the job :(
Would be nice to have a tour of that beautiful ship, including the engine room.
Check out some of the other videos. Everywhere is included.
I've missed these videos since being "dropped" from LI ... good to see you guys again, and great, breathtaking footage. GH, I salute you and all! Deni.
When you tell the truth it’s only a matter of time before you get deplatformed.
So cooooolllll! I’m so proud of our brilliant men who do big and wonderful things!
Thank you very much 😊
lets hope "Elvis" has his costumes and a Guitar with him ;) - by the way - verry nice pictures of Nature ...
Thank you 😊
Brilliant as always 👌⭐️
Thank you
That time again👌. Hope you are well Chief👍
All well, thanks. Back out there in the next few days :(
@@Bigwavemaster1 Good stuff Chief. I have my GMDSS exam this morning😬.
@@malcolm9650 Ouch! Good luck.
@@Bigwavemaster1 passed Chief. Buzzing.
@@malcolm9650 Congratulations.
Great vid. Also loved seeing the orcas in the wild. Where they belong.
Thank you very much.
We get quite a lot of wildlife.

Hello guys !! I Love the vídeo!!! 😊👍👏
Hello, Marta 😊
Awesome, thank you!
You’re welcome 😊
15:44 Must have been a school of fish the orcas were feeding on?
39:51 Nice to have the sea smooth as glass!
I think it probably was.
Wonderful rescue boom and net system. Many large ships should have such equipment, someday.
Wouldn’t want to be rescued by it though 😂😂
Thank you!
Thank you 😊
That fog is terrifyingly amazing.
It was creepy.
Ever see the og 1980 movie, "The Fog," directed by John Carpenter? Now THAT's creepy! 1st thing that came to mind when I saw that long, low fogbank, seemingly rolling in from out of nowhere. Also, I was thinking, high-traffic day along yr water-way, then remembered this was compiled over a month's time. D'oh! The gentleman shipmate w/the shopping bag always gives me giggles. So grateful for a glimpse of those majestic orcas - may they feed well, yet steer clear the trawlers. Hope Albert finds a special surprise in his locker, travel-pack, Ex-mass stocking or ruckscack next month!
Mrs H said “Do you remember that film where that fog bank rolled in? It was called The Mist, or something” 😂😂
The chap with the carrier bag is Alec. It’s his story that I hope to do next trip.
And Our Albert? As long as he gets his pie from the butcher for Christmas Day, he’ll be happy.
@@Bigwavemaster1 Mrs. H is correct, just on a diff't track movie-wise than I. There are 3 "Mist" movies: 1980's "Moodu Pani," 1988's "Mist," 2007's "The Mist," based on Stephen King's 1980 novella of the same name, plus 2017's "The Mist," a 10-episode tv series also based on King's novella. A 2005 remake of "The Fog" (from my previous comment), Rupert Wainwright, director, didn't fare so well, only winning 2 awards, both for how bad it was. LoL! Oh goodie! I look fwd to Alec's tale. I take it, since coming from the butcher, that Albert's pie won't be of the fruit or meringue variety, but some sort of traditional mincemeat, steak & kidney, shepherd's, or other rib-stickin' hamhock, turkey or beefy creation. Someday I'll get to try an authentic Cornish pasty (on my bucket list along with the visit).
@@TheSWolfe Na! She meant The Fog 😂
Alec has had quite the life. From Royal Navy to Deep Sea Diver to this job he has spent over 60 years at sea!! He still goes away in the rescue boats most morning.
Albert? Steak pie every time.
@@Bigwavemaster1 Well, Mrs H, I tried. Easy to get confused, as there are so many of similar title & plot, plus remakes! Wow, Aleck - impressive resume, mate! & quite the character, I'd wager, if after over 60 yrs on the job, he's still got that cheeky glint in his eye. Sounds yum, Albert. I take back the stocking/rucksack wish tho. A nice steak pie would get all mushed up in one o' those!
@@TheSWolfe Oh, Alec has still got that glint in his eye. He’s 79 going on 29 🙄
I wouldn’t worry about the condition of Albert’s pie either. I bought him a pie in Lerwick to eat that night but he decided to take it home instead. Two days later, after 2 busses and one flight, it had even survived the baggage handlers to be eaten for his supper.
@03:15 that's 1 way of doing your washing, lol.
😂😂
Now I after a 6 weeks I get to watch this video here in British Columbia Canada I have been evacuated twice because of the wild fires I am now in a place with wifi so I can now catch up on Bigwavemaster 1 we have lost three towns to the fires in central BC and there is no end in site I been unable to go home now for 6 weeks we have two huge fires and two big fires right in our area so its nice to see clean air and water every wear and no smoke
I don’t think we have heard anything about that on the news over here. Our mainstream media are not fit for purpose.
Hope you stay safe and all ends well for you.
Like fishing french fries out of a huge frying pan.
We film some of the largest waves ever caught on camera.
We work with 2 North Sea oil platforms that can accurately measure wave height so no guessing or exaggeration.
Enjoy 🌊🌊

Excellent video!
Thank you
& thick accents, love it! greetings from Slovakia
Thank you. Greetings from the North Sea.
8:35 it’s no wonder ships used to run into one another back in the day in a thick fog like that 😯
Scary stuff
When fishing for bodies in the crazy stormy wave weather, surely the crew can't just be standing on deck like that and need to be harness in or something?
We would wear harnesses if working in the Rescue Zone
You should put the ship's gyroscope data in the video so we can see just how much the ship pitches and rolls during the storms
We don’t have one.
A really good video completely fragmented by excessive adverts.
Quite agree, when I see the high number of ad pauses in the red line, my heart sinks, like a er…brick.
Point taken.
They are placed automatically by UA-cam. I have to go along and remove most of them.
My latest video has much fewer adverts.
Great Video, as Usual, so thumb up.
Please next time subtitles, so sometimes it's difficult to understand all what's spoken.
I shall make a note. Where are you from?
@@Bigwavemaster1 Thank you, Bigwavemaster1,
I'm from Germany, english subtitles would be very helpful.
On this way thank you for your great and wonderful Videos.

Do you have cadets onboard your vessel? I start my cadetship with North Star on the 30th of august😃
Not on this one I’m afraid 🙁
@@Bigwavemaster1 have you ever had a cadet on board one of the vessels you’ve been working on?
@@Ryan-lk3zy Yes but now they tend to go on the PSVs
@@Bigwavemaster1 got one more question sorry🤣 regarding the ENG1 medical how strict are they with your weight?
@@Ryan-lk3zy I’ve weighed pretty much the same for the last 20 years (13-14 stone) but have you seen the size of Albert?
I’ve never personally known anyone fail due to their weight but I’ve known people be told to lose it. A lot depends on where you go for your ENG1
What are the spray bars used for??
Decontamination
@@garethnicholas6640 makes sense now 😂 thanks
Dispersant. The are for breaking up oil in the event of an oil spill.
