It would actually take 3 to 4 times as long to ship something underwater than it would on the surface... yeah you wouldn't have to deal with waves and weather but currents/ speed of the current would have a much greater effect on the ship. Also more fuel would be needed to move the same amount of cargo the same distance because of the increased drag from the extra surface area in the water.

An interesting little (70x470 ft) cargo ship. It sails across the Atlantic, the Pacific and the Great Lakes too.

I´m impressed! As somebody already noted, You earned the pay of the month! Not good with an engine failure in those moments, how long did the rocking last?

Holy shit that thing rolls. After 5 days I bet that sliding chair got real old. I’d have thrown the frigger in the sea. Capt - “ say where’s my best chair?” Me “in the sea sir”

Man the only thing to make that worse is probably too rough for any hot chow down in the gally which has got to be a killer for crew moral.

Why the fuck dont you guys make her "ship shape" before leaving port. The furniture is rumbling around like crazy.....? I work in the North Sea on Norwegian 27 meter trawler. We experience this kind of movements, and worse on every single trip. What would it be like,if we just let anything be loose..... Opposit from that, the video was cool.

That ship doesn't look like the best in high swell and winds… The angular momentum of the cranes and their area high over the waterline make her roll this heftily, right?

I guess playing ping pong in the crew's play room is out today or yacking a tennis ball on deck might not be such a good idea either ;)

    Is everything loose???
    No, I dont think so.
I dont see manuals or coffee flying around.
And this is not the North Sea, this is a serious storm.

I say make these ship's into submersible (SubMarine) vessel's. You'd have that load across the sea in half the time! And all the storm's on the surface can be avoided!

A "serious" storm.....??? How the heck do you think a 27 meter trawler is moving in a gale force 8...... The movements in this film is "peanuts" compared to what most fishermen in the North Sea experiences every single working week, the whole year through. AND we WORK ON DECK under these conditions..... We dont sit on our asses, warm and cosy in a 15 meter high wheelhouse, drinking coffee, and watching the furniture rumble around the floor....
