America needs another show like this for this younger generation so it could bring respect and meaning to a generation that seems to have lost all the joys that life has to offer. People need to learn how love one another with respect! A weekly show like Soul train would bring back some meaning in the s generation that truly needs it.
Soul Train was one of the Best TV Shows of all time!!. RIP Don Cornelius he paved the way for a lot of Music Artists over the years.. I grew up watching Soul Train!!! The Weekend Show line up...
I got to give mad props to that girl who had to dance when the beat dropped away for a second. That was flawless how the beat came back perfectly with her movements.
Damn this was a month before I went off to Marine Corps boot camp as a 17 year old kid:-( I really do miss the 90's the future is so a$$ compared to how we all thought it would be.
This is 1997 but I watched this show in the 2000’s before it ended and they were still doing some of these dance moves and some of the same dancers were there.
It's so awesome to see black culture evolve with soul train. I grew up on the 90s Era but I always go back to watch these and earlier episodes and appreciate it more. It's a black time capsule ✊🏿
This era of Soul Train was awesome because they went back to dancing. Back in the 1980's, everyone just stopped dancing down the lines and did weird skits and just showed off their outfits.
IDK man, I see a lot of gymnastic back flips & clothes so baggy you could fit 3 people in them. You even have chicks dressing like dudes & dancing like them too. I liked both era's but the 80's is where ST blasted off.
1988remixx Perhaps, but I think the back flipping takes a lot of talent. A lot of baggy clothes true, if anything I prefer the Soul Train in the 80s if you go fashion wise, seeing with all the high fashion clothes and all. However Soul Train was probably the best in the 70s. I'm not bashing the 80s Soul Train, It was a good 10 years, I just like the dancing and music however in the 90s.
I don’t think so, as hot as this song is they really didn’t do any real dancing here it’s just guys doing handstands and flips, the early 80’s had some hits and misses but the late 80’s had some great lines and I like how the dancers cheered each other on.
Are you kidding???Soul train 90s sucked too much gymnastic jumpung and flip flopping...80s were wayyy better. still had great dancing tunes to dance...but the honor goes to the 70s soul train dancing
This was my last year watching soul train. They had started dancing again, but they taped several shows a day but the line consisted of the same dancers, unless you were weren't black. At wasn't as noticeable before. Everybody looking like there trying to be discovered for videos, then they have becky or ling off beat getting camera time.Skin color be damn back in the day you had to be able to dance.
+paris veale his name is Freddie Bell better known as Flexx, he danced on the show from 1993-2006. He was there from the 23rd season until the 35th and Final season, he was a very popular dancer during the show's final 13 seasons.
Just read a nasty comment about my girl in the pigtails, hell l use to watch waiting for her to come down the line, she was one of me and my sisters favorite
The best show ever! I still remember a lot of these shows! The Black community needs another show like this! Maybe if the Black folks would embrace this type of behavior, the thought of hating each others would change! We need to learn how to love one another, no matter what race it is! This killing of Black on Black needs to change with an attitude of music and dance! I'm Latino, back in those days, we danced and danced till sun rising, and there were people of all colors together, no fights, no shooting, just dance and dance!
What other way could bring back the meaning of real Black culture and respect for each others, than to have another show like this! This younger generation needs a show like this to remind everybody that the history of music really comes the Black community! That's something this BLM culture should embrace with love and hope for a better future, rather than to continue this hatred towards one another! Soul Train brought so many people together with the help of so many good people, music and dancing! This BLM, should embrace this type of behavior, rather than one with total hatred and malice.
After 23 years, this song STILL slaps...AMAZING!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥😎😎😎

You mean Freddie Bell aka Flexx, I would love to see him on I was a Soul Train Dancer
The guy at 1:15 was always doing that combination of moves. Still was cold wit it tho
I miss this soul train from my childhood back when I loved watching women kill it dancing before twerking was ever invented.
Twerking was actually already pretty popular in New Orleans by the mid 90s
It existed it was just more underground, watch a Dr Luke or 2 Live Crew video from the late 80s, girls are twerking.
kids, these are your parents! :-)
Given the year it was recorded, I would say grandparents by now
This is 1997 but I watched this show in the 2000’s before it ended and they were still doing some of these dance moves and some of the same dancers were there.
2:07 This guy has the best moves has his own style like that.

Good stuff, very clear and jamming.
The chick in the yellow shirt with white pants is the best, out of the men the guy in the red jacket wearing the hat, but all are awesome dancers
