This whole video was amazing! I especially loved the text on screen at 21:34 because it perfectly puts into words how each phase of production ultimately works to tell the story of the film/show. Excellent video!
"Killer intro, Sven! I absolutely love your approach to the topic of collaboration and how trust in the other editor's process is key. Great insights!"
Fantastic video, Sven! It's fascinating to see the thought process and workflow of seasoned editors, especially those who are producing award-winning content. Thank you for creating and sharing such insightful videos. As always, the content is top-notch.
i just have one question. if you are working with a bunch of audio layers of multiple people plus backup tracks. how do you handle all the tracks at editing and cutting? Most of all for L and J cuts, cause its for me always a hustle to not skip overlap accidentally layers over each other
if only it worked like, BUT this is not reality for most shows, trust me IT IS A SHIT SHOW !!!!!! and ultimately as an editor you just take a back sit and watch the shit show unroll infront of your eyes
I think what you see if the offline edit, without colour grading or lut added, focusing on narative editing. Colour grading will be done at the online edit phase....

I watch these just to help me make better UA-cam videos. Hidden little gems.
The clipper sound effect transitioning to the hair play is genius. Not everything has to be visual to make evocative match cuts.

Thanks Sven! I love seeing how other editors process dailies and how they get their cuts into shape. So many different ways to get there!
This was great and so helpful. Thank you for the upload!
Killer intro Sven! Thanks for the super insightful video!

Amazing video on the creative process of editing and the demonstration of how an editor can actually make or break a story. This is a clinic!
Great! Please do more interviews with experienced editors! It’s a gem ♥️
Pro tip at 11:15 (watch cuts outside your NLE and w others). BTW nice built-in end with the next suggested vid. Very clever.
I worked with Patrick Tuck back in the day. That dude is a real one!

One of my favorite shows!
Thank you for making this.
Wasn't this video already uploaded? Just with a different title
Woah avid! haven't seen that in years. At least he's not using final cut something.
i have the same mouse as the editor (very ergonomic)
Aho!

Avid
@@ThisGuyEdits and a very old version!

Hey, I use the same Logitech mouse.. Am I an pro editor now? 😂
What up
That software they were using had a horrible looking UI
Is it just me or is the colour grading awful? It's too green and yellow.
It’s probably the look they are going for… and I’m with you. I think it looks sickly… like the vampire movies Twilight.
Trying to look unique, I would guess.

can we ban these wipe transitons.
