According to Egyptian propaganda they never lost a war and they ruled everywhere, propaganda has been around for a long time, possibly the snake in Eden was the first journalist.
Another interesting tidbit...Thutmose IV's grandson Akhenaten famously abandoned Egypt's traditional polytheism for a monotheistic religion. Scholars to this day have no clue why he would do that. Something had to of influenced him! And with the only other monotheistic religion around, that being the Hebrew God of the Bible, it really makes you wonder!
You do not complete the reason that Tutmoses 4 had to gain the throne. His oldest Amanhotep 2brother who was in his early 30s when he died was the actual son of the Pharoah and his Royal wife. Look for the movie Patterns of Evidence: Exodus. There is plenty of archaeological evidence out there that people ignore. Satan has a vested interest in trying to make God look like a liar.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil
That would certainly be the case regarding the British and most European monarchies, but I think that only the firstborn had the right to the Egyptian throne. If the firstborn died it could be that the throne was then contested by all the other family members, including brothers of the deceased Pharaoh. I do stand corrected however.
@@horace9341 What you're missing is that firstborn basically means having the status of an heir. Succession in Egypt was based on being the oldest surviving son of the Pharoah's designated great queen. So it would have been relatively common for the firstborn to be younger than some of the sons of lesser queens. To take one commonly cited example Pharaoh Metneptah would only have been 17th in line to the throne if his older brothers hadn't predeceased Ramses II. But there is no evidence of any controversy over him taking the throne That said, even if Frank was right about this text showing that Thutmos IV wasn't first in line to the throne, it's not really relevant to the Exodus since the cities that Exodus says the Israelites built parts of (Pithom and Ramses) weren't founded for several generations after his reign. I'd strongly recommend watching the review of Frank's earlier video on the Exodus by an Egyptologist over on the channel Ancient Egypt and the Bible to get a good idea of how much what he's saying on this issue is actually supported by the evidence.

Frank, Love your videos about Biblical archeology. I know Joel Kramer is a friend of yours...A short while back he did a video on the supposed locations of Sodom and Gomorrah. He centered his claims around the ruins of pottery found near the south end of the Dead Sea. He very briefly mentioned the claim by Ron Wyatt that they are a bit farther north (Michael Rood has agreed with Ron's claim), and I believe the Israeli tourist organizations actually takes people up there by Midian and shows them the site claimed by Ron. Joel Kramer said "These are just sandstone formations..." True, Anyone can see the layers in them that are sandstone by nature, but how did they get carved and formed with such 90-degree angles and cuts? Not to mention the Sphinx-shaped sculptures found there. Shapes and angles like that don't form naturally in nature (And there are lots of sulfur balls there). It seems that if Joel doesn't want to believe something, he chooses to discredit it before thoroughly investigating it. Do you have any thoughts on this?

He would still have an inherited right anyhow if the first born dies, then it passes to the second male sibling. Just look at how potential kingship is defined amongst all the descendants in the royal family of Great Britain.
I was thinking that as well. I d don't know if I have this right...I do believe that some scholar said Hatshepsut may have been the only legitimate offspring/princess of Thutmose I that adopted Moses, married her half brother, and she later became co-regent for her stepson (illegitimate and installed after a coups - Thutmose III may have killed Hatshepsut and tried to erase her from history). There is a belief is that Thutmose III's first son was named Amenemhet and he dies before ascending. That would make Amenhotep II the Pharaoh who received boils from one of the plagues (evidence of cysts on his mummy from an account) but would have lived through the plague of the first born if he was second born. Thutmose IV was the son of a minor wife/concubine and so may not have had legitimacy for the throne.

I believe firmly in the Bible. Your argumentation however, is a bit weak, honestly. Its a random slipher of information that seems to fits the narative, IF interpreted as such. But on to itself, doesnt say all that much.
If you combine it with all the other archaeological evidence in the surrounding areas, and the time period that the person lived in, it doesn't seem random. Who are you trying to impress with your skepticism? It always baffles me that self proclaiming Christians always seem to be reluctant to accept truths that correspond to biblical history because they can't accept that perhaps what they were taught in school by atheists was perhaps not the truth.

*The Egyptians considered all shepherds an abomination (See Genesis 46:31-47:7; especially Gen.**46:34**]* Jacob said they were shepherds when asked what his occupation was when he and his sons migrated to Egypt, after Joseph was revealed to them as second in command in Egypt. the father of 12 sons (which became the 12 tribes of Israel [Jacob]). *Therefore, the Egyptians would not be inclined to forever document defeat to a nation of shepherds (the Jews).* Joseph became second in command when he correctly interpreted a dream of Pharaoh which resulted in Joseph saving Egypt from the seven-year famine. The Jews were blessed by Pharaoh for saving Egypt and separated from the Egyptians in the Nile Delta area of Goshen. When Moses was born, years later, there arose a Pharaoh who "knew not Joseph." The Jews began to outnumber the Egyptians, causing the Pharaoh to fear a rebellion and coup. That Pharaoh enslaved the Jews, ending in the death of the first born, which caused the Pharaoh to release the Jews from slavery [Exodus 1:8-14].

1446 BC is one view of Biblical dating. You cannot take Exodus 1:11 mentioning Pithom and Ramesses and 1 Kings 6:1 saying the temple was dedicated 480 years after the Exodus literally at the same time. 1265 BC (the late date) is just as "biblical" as the early date, but the late date actually fits into Egyptian and Canaanite history. The early date does not. Titus Kennedy is not an Egyptologist. He ignores data gets in his way. David Falk was censored after he crushed Kennedy in a debate that made Kennedy look like an undergrad.

God puts a very high value on the firstborn son. There has to be extenuating circumstances for someone other than the firstborn son to get the main inheritance from the father. Interestingly, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob all gave the main inheritances to someone other than the firstborn son. But this was God's intervention. When God killed all the firstborn sons in Egypt, he broke the power of their bloodline. This was a powerful curse, much worse than having random people die.

The seventh day Sabbath is evidence GOD exists. There are seven days in a week that is not by accident. You can make any new calendar you like it doesn't matter. Nothing can change a seven day week.
Not exactly. It's evidence that Babylon existed. Evidence shows that Babylon originated the 7 day week in 2300BC, long before the Israelite nation even existed. Authors of Genesis just used the existing 7 day week when they wrote their Genesis story between 500-900BC.
@criticalthinker2477 I would say Babylon the harlot stole it from GOD satan has a counterfeit for everything that GOD has said and done. The seventh day Sabbath is not just for the Israelites it was given to man at the creation .
The word week comes from Strongs H7620, shaw-boo'-ah, which literally means a period of seven days. If there was a calendar, such as the early Julian calendar at the time of Christ that had eight days, then it would not be called a week. Why? Because the word week means a period of seven days!

I absolutely believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, but I also believe it has been manipulated many times over ... but my question is this: For the amount of time spent in Egypt throughout Genesis and Exodus, why are the great pyramids never mentioned in the modern text? Were they lost in translation?
Wouldn't it depend if it is part of the story? If I told you a story about a party I went to, just because I didn't mention the cake doesn't mean the story didn't happen. But it did say they made bricks but what for who knows? Take care
Why would they be mentioned? It's not like there's descriptions of areas where a pyramid should be and a pyramid is left out. In fact, the lack of a mention is more likely to be evidence for the events than against them. The pyramids would have been well known. Likely if someone knew *anything* about Egypt, they would know about their existence. So if someone later, living elsewhere, was making up the story, it would be a natural thing to add to try to sell their tale. Much like someone making up a story about Paris may be more likely to randomly mention the Eiffel Tower, while someone who lives there isn't likely to it if it's not really connected to the story.
@charliedontsurf334 No, the Eiffel Tower isn't. Neither are the pyramids talked about by everyone who lives in Egypt who is discussing current events. If you watch a news report of something political happening in Egypt today, would you expect the pyramids to be mentioned? At what point in the Exodus narrative would there be any reason to mention pyramids?
Exodus 12:12 "I will bring judgment on all the (NON EXISTANT) gods of egypt." 😂😂😂 Yall so busy believing, u forget to READ and THINK about what u just read. The "all knowing" speaking of judging imaginary beings. Think about it folks.
You misunderstand. These 'gods' were shown to be man made frauds and that is the point of God's judgment. He took on each one in turn with the plagues ramping up in intensity. The magicians could replicate the first few miracles. But the 'gods' they worshipped could not stop the plagues, including the final one. Horus is associated with resurrection, protection, and divine right to rule. That Pharaoh relented only after Horus was shown to be powerless makes perfect sense. He experienced personal loss despite 'divine' right to rule and belief in the eventual apotheosis of each Pharaoh (god-king).

Yes, the 430 years includes the time in Canaan per the LXX (Ex 12,40 and Gal 3,17). First they spent 215 years in Canaan and then 215 years in Egypt. The Exodus happened at the completion of those 430 years. And thanks to 1 Kings 6,1 we know that the Exodus happened in 1446 BC. Thanks to 1 Kings 6,1 we know that the Exodus happened in 1446 BC. Thanks to Judges 11,26 we know that they entered Canaan in 1406 BC. 👇👇👇 1 Kings 6,1 = 480 years (966 BC + 480 = 1446 BC) Judges 11,26 = 300 years (1106 BC + 300 = 1406 BC) BINGO. A perfect match. Scripture is clear.
@@daduzadude1547 Problem with that, besides the physical evidence of the Merenptah-Stele, is the numbers 480 and 300 are as literal as they get. Jephthah (the Ninth Judge) had ZERO reason to use a symbolic number when he told the king of Ammon that they already lived in Israel for 300 years. Everybody knows that Jephthah lived in 1106 BC. 300 years prior to that is 1406 BC. Exactly 40 years after 1446 BC. This goes perfect with the archeological evidence. The Merneptah Stele, also called the Israel Stele, is an ancient Egyptian inscription dated to around 1208 BC during the reign of Pharaoh Merneptah, the son of Ramses II. It is significant because it contains the earliest known non-biblical reference to "Israel" and is one of the key pieces of evidence regarding the existence of early Israel as a people group. When you say that the Exodus happened in 1250 BC (late dating) then that means the Israelites entered Canaan in 1210 BC (Just 2 years prior to the Merneptah Stele in 1208 BC). However, there are multiple problems with this theory: First, the Bible gives ZERO indication that the Egyptians laid waste of Israel just 2 years after they conquered Canaan. None whatsoever. Second, there are ZERO exegetical reasons to ''symbolize'' the numbers given in 1 Kings 6,1 and Judges 11,26. It's obvious that they are literal figures.
Great evidence against the Biblical story of the Exodus! The Egyptians were familiar with the concept of death. They knew that first borns did not always survive their parents. This did not come as a shock. So if the King's first born son had died, his second born would naturally become crown prince and no other justification would be needed. If we interpret the so-called Dream Stele as a justification for a second born son to succeed his father, then the most plausible explanation is that the first born son was still alive but impaired, or that there had been strife between them and the second son had come out on top. Neither explanation would support the Biblical narrative. And to quote Dr. Turek: _"That's what many scholars are saying."_
@@annemurphy9339 You said: _"All archaeological discoveries consistently support the biblical narrative of people, places, and events."_ And yet here we have an archaeological discovery that clearly does not. The Biblical narrative has proven and shown many instances of it being true. Especially from archaeologists, even if they are biased, it’s definitely clear and concise.
@@hansdemos6510 Of course, that's why they are miracles. If they could be done so naturally, they wouldn't be miracles, but they will be natural powers. The only logical dilemma here is the existence of God, because it is common sense that a creator can have the power to interfere in creation and therefore affect it unnaturally in a way we call miraculous. But if your worldview is presupposed to the existence of God being a delusion, you are of course going to see all that as a fairytale. So the problem is not the bible, it's you r interpretation of it with respect to the existence of God.

@wanttopreach Moses and tutmose were actually common names amongst Egyptian royalty. I think Ramses xi was the pharaoh of Exodus. His history tells is a rebellion in a Thibus that caused a lot of problems. After his death, Egypt was split into 3 regions for 2 generations. The priests took over one region, probably to erase history. They wouldn't want their own power to be diminished because God proved that he existed. Ramses xi had problems with one of his generals. 2 notes were found from him. One said, "he is the pharaoh of what?" The other have instructions. "Take these two bodies, and lower them into the river. Then say nothing of this." Moses was given the position of general. There are other indications. You have to look into it.
@wanttopreach oh and if you look 400 years before Ramses xi, you'll see that tutmose III sacked Jerusalem, and made a list of the captured slaves, as well as livestock, weapons, and other spoils.

@wanttopreach he was persecuted over the ideologies of divinity thus the need for the exodus. You could even say the arc was present and was removed upon his departure. But for the name sake of moses you are making a long leap of linguistics to justify this name. The fact of the matter is moses was a fictional character, based on a true person that lead a symbolic exodus not physical which an entire nation was formed based upon thinking it was real. But again, not a single nation mentioned anything regarding moses for over 500 years after the dated fact because by then the library of Alexandria was burned and history had a glimmer of time to be manipulated and in essence rewritten. What they failed to realize is that other nations weren't so willing to destroy their history and records as the Greeks were. Much had to be rewritten in order to be passed on. But history is quite literally written in stone before akhenaten and before their empire. History is much deeper than a religion will ever allow you to see. Which is why Greeks attested akhenaten also because the pantheons were all they knew. They couldn't understand there was an actual creator above them. Jesus learned this also which is why he like you mentioned was persecuted in similar to akhenaten. But moses itself was never a living person. He didn't do anything nor invent anything. It was preexisting for at least 1,000 years before his invention

If his brother had already died, wouldn't that mean that he (Thutmos 4) is already next in line to the throne?
But there is no evidence of any controversy over him taking the throne
That said, even if Frank was right about this text showing that Thutmos IV wasn't first in line to the throne, it's not really relevant to the Exodus since the cities that Exodus says the Israelites built parts of (Pithom and Ramses) weren't founded for several generations after his reign.

@@criticalthinker2477 The thing is more that every known civilisation got a seven days week.
The word week comes from Strongs H7620, shaw-boo'-ah, which literally means a period of seven days.
If there was a calendar, such as the early Julian calendar at the time of Christ that had eight days, then it would not be called a week.
Why?
Because the word week means a period of seven days!
@watchmanofthenight2700 The name of the month was each new moon The days were named 1st Day Etc .
Why would the pyramids be mentioned? Is the Eiffel Tower mentioned by everyone who talks about Paris?
@charliedontsurf334 No, the Eiffel Tower isn't. Neither are the pyramids talked about by everyone who lives in Egypt who is discussing current events. If you watch a news report of something political happening in Egypt today, would you expect the pyramids to be mentioned?
At what point in the Exodus narrative would there be any reason to mention pyramids?
@@shockthetoast That was my point. The Pyramids aren't relevant to the Exodus narrative, and thus aren't mentioned.

The exodus was in the 1200s, not 1446. The 430 years includes the time in Canaan per the LXX.

@wesleyjakesta4095 It's the 1200s. Go watch David Falk's explanation on his Ancient Egypt and the Bible channel.
And thanks to Judges 11,26 we know that they entered Canaan in 1406 BC.

(966 BC + 480 = 1446 BC)
Judges 11,26 = 300 years

Problem with that, besides the physical evidence, is that the dates are symbolic…
For example 480 = 12 x 40
However, there are multiple problems with this theory:
First, the Bible gives ZERO indication that the Egyptians laid waste of Israel just 2 years after they conquered Canaan.
All archaeological discoveries consistently support the biblical narrative of people, places, and events.
@@annemurphy9339 You said: _"All archaeological discoveries consistently support the biblical narrative of people, places, and events."_
And yet here we have an archaeological discovery that clearly does not. Have you actually read my comment?
There are plenty of archaeological discoveries that support some of the historical data about some of the people, places and events in the Bible, sure. In general, the texts we can corroborate date from after the exilic period. Texts dealing with the patriarchs are generally uncorroborated, or even contain anachronisms, showing they were written or changed centuries later. Most crucially however, we have no corroboration for *_any_* of the supernatural events described in the Bible (or in any other holy book, for that matter). If you disagree, please provide your favorite evidence of this kind, so we can discuss it.
@@wesleyjakesta4095 You said: _"The Biblical narrative has proven and shown many instances of it being true."_

@wanttopreach ps, the epic of gilgamesh is a factual record. It may have its exaggerations as all legends, but the tomb and the main lands have been discovered. I mention this only because the bible be it jewish torah or Christian orthodox, all between, are meant for control and mass submission. You learn our ancestors were more truthful than we are told you'll see how fairytale the bible really is.
