Mandela in Ethopia

- In 1962 Former President Nelson Mandela secretly travelled to Ethiopia for military political and spiritual training under the name of David Motsamai. Haile Selassie's Ethiopian army, on the orders of Haile Selassie himself first trained and armed Nelson Mandela in his struggle against apartheid South Africa. On the personal orders of his Majesty, the Ethiopian Colonel in charge of Mandela's military training gave him a gun with which he was to bring down the ignoble and unhappy apartheid regime still thriving at that time in South Africa. Mandela went back to South Africa to continue his struggle. The rest is history. One of the things that Madiba recently learned is that while he was in Ethiopia , the aparheid government knew where he was and had paid his menders to kill him.
We are joined now by Captain Guta Dinka who not only looked after Madiba while he was in Ethiopia but was ordered to kill Madiba. He is with Prof Mamo Muchie who will do the translation for us.
WE ARE PROUD OF THIS GREAT AND WONDERFUL MY DAD CAPITAN

Hum. I watched a Madiba film called “ The long journey to freedom “ But the films influence by western as usual. Madiba came to Ethiopia two times during king Haileselase and Korenel mengestu for study or training. They aren’t put it in the film. Is ok western always buried Ethiopian and arose country problem. “his is such a fasciniating story. The great dignity and steadfast values of this Ethiopian soldier are so admirable and heartwarming, even at his advanced age, that it brought tears to my eyes. It shows how supremely important faithfulness and good values are to the success of Pan African development. I will circulate this. Thank you” Prof Ashley Hamilton-Taylor from the Carribean
Thank you Ethiopia we as South Africans we thank you.
We see your gratitude very well .Today Ethiopians are killed by Black South Africans.
@@እውነቱንእንናገር Yes we do not support that but that is what happened when all foreign nationals decided to stand together and start attacking SA police in Johannesburg CBD. Google it and see for yourself.
@@thozingwandi4915 Xenophobia that is what I read everywhere. There is no justification for that.If you come to Ethiopia no one heart you because of your ancestry.
We all Ethiopians know that this is a payback to innocent Ethiopians who lives in SA. Didn’t expected never ever expected that such terrible experience would have been happening to Ethiopians till today. Ethiopian people are great and this could be ☝️ witness for the world.
You are welcome! Our blood! Dear south African brother! Black people need to support each other!!!
Today’s the South African chasing Ethiopians out from South Africa what a great shame .
Very sad huh?
We are sorry, we didn't know the full story.
We are grateful and we will teach our children to do better than we did.
We are sorry
Thank you Ethiopia.....
Robert Mandela Jah Bless Ethiopia
You must learn to respect other people in South Africa
Robert Mandela do you mean "thank you"to the rest of Africa for giving you your freedom. Of course, you lot are the most ungrateful people ọn earth. See how you are biting all those figures that fed you.
@@asanma1802 your arrogance doesn't help. You may have a point but how you present it is disrespectful again not all South Africans are xenophobic
@@aviweyantolo5023 you said it well.
We had severe time constraints. One plan was for the interviewer to present most of the story and for Captain Guta to be interviewed in Amharic and I translate. We asked them to do it as time was very short. We were sharing 15 minutes, one on the plot to assassinate, the other on the hidden pistol. What we agreed was for me to tell his story in English and ask him when the query is something he has not fully briefed me for me to ask him..like his age, his co-security officer Debebe who passed away. So my role was not a translator or interpreter , my role was to pass his message..
Oh professor Mamo Muchie, how are you? I'm an Ethiopian and admire you so much for your wonderful knowledge of the great history of our wonderful and proud Ethiopia!!! I listened to your interview on DW Amharic radio back in Ethiopian millennium new year about Atse Tewoderos!!! You are a great patriot and do Keep up your wonderful work please!
Thank you so much for your role Professor. How can i get in touch with you...i am very keen on the glorious African history as told by Africans, particularly Ethiopian History. You will be glad to know that i named my first born child Adowa and she is already going into grade 6 next year 2023😊💕
@@nigelharry-ind3782 It's spelled Adwa not Adowa
I have listened his Amharic Interview in Ethiopia, it is a long story. The interpreter does well. coz it’s difficult for 78 years old man to tell the history precisely & to the point on live TV.
This man was among many of the fruit of Ethiopianism ideology. In fact Ethiopia has been striving to help other African countries to get out of colonization. And Col. Mengistu has also helped Zimbabwe a lot. We supported Mandela’s struggle for his people. He did it! We proud of it.
But Ethiopia is paying the price now; Westerns put one minor Ethnic dictator on power, made Ethiopia landlocked & people severing, fly out till now..
According to Col. Mengistu , Mandela hasn’t visited Ethiopia coz he told to Col. he didn’t want to see a divided Ethiopia made by rulling party( TPLF) for the past 23 yrs. For your information the Only man who agreed with white man to coordinate z assassination was belongs to current gov’t ethnic group (TPLF).
I am pretty sure the professor is not making his own stories, the Captain must have told him of the what has happened, but at the same time I think he should have interpreted the questions to Captain Guta so then we can hear from himself.
My thoughts
But now south African killing
Ethiopians what a shame
How many Ethiopians killed by South Africans? Are u a Nigerian?
Yes very true. They also destroyed their businesses.
@@enoharrey79 how many of them? Just be sure... was Mandela selling fake products to the people? And again how South Africans killed by Ethiopians? And how girls (under 18yrs) are being abused by Ethiopians?
no we are ethiopian.

THIS MAN IS A HERO.
The ANC should make arrangements to pay Captain Guta Dinka the amount of 2000 pounds he was promised by the racist regime to kill Madiba which he declined. In the same way Johannes Greef who let Arthur Goldreich to escape in 1963 was paid by the ANC in 1994. South Africa should also give Captain Guta Dinka honorary citizenship alongwith the amount he declined. The amounts stolen by Zuma and his acolytes can be channelled to reward this officer for his exemplary and remarkable character of refusing to kill Madiba

Who Trained Mandela? Emperor Haile selase

I am proud of General Tadesse Biru, who trained Mandiba (Mandela). Because, I am currently serving in the university known by the name of legendary Gen. Tadesse Biru which established in the birthplace (Salale) of the general.
The people who brought the money were a white man, and a judas. Unfortunately we still have black judases to this day, undermining the cause of fellow black people. Thank you to our Ethiopian brother for refusing to betray Mandela.

The so called translater should give a chance for the captain to speak himself. Even the journalist didn't try to fix and let the captain to tell the story.

I agree, but saving time is important in this Case.
Today south African forgets what many African countries has done for them

even the host must be idiot, why invited the captain if you do not let involve him in the talk
The Captain can't speak English, but the translator talking about the issue he heard previously. Ethiopian secret service was so keen. This translator doesn't give a chance to the captain even in Amharic Language .

Ethiopia always supported the African fight against foreign invasions.

Wow Tnx
There are two important things. Interpreting is is not translation. There are two related but different concepts in terms of professionalism. While Interpreting is a profession that conveying oral or sign-language communication, translation is the act of conveying written language to other. In this context, Mr Mammo served as an interpreter. But there is no clear and visible professionalism. Mr Mammo was talking from his point of view, by saying " I think", without clarification, while Mr Guta simply sitting in front of us as a statue. There are also a big mistake of facts: as we all knew, the gun given to Madiba, by General Taddasa Biru, was not confiscated by the Apartheid government. Mandela buried the gun in backyard where he used to live. The person might be knowledgable by another profession but incompetent and unqualified in an Interpreting profession.
read the professors message.
ISN'T HE SUPPOSE TO ASK HIM NOT TALK FOR HIM ...
Mandela was the model for freedom and justice but he is not confer table for African Dictators

Is he translating or speaking his own mind? Wtf this is not professional what is with this men? Not even telling what captain Gupta is saying. He is telling the story his own way.
I was wondering same. Unless they edited out the part where the Amharic speaker ( Capt. Guta) was speaking.
