To all other foreigners or African people I'm really happy to tell you that I'm from India and in our literature course we have a chapter of Nelson Mandela and his experience on the day of inauguration, RIP NELSON MANDELA LOVE FROM INDIA 🇮🇳
Mandela was the greatest man of his time. He could execute vengeance, after 28 years imprisoned, but chose to build his nation: a truly multiracial South Africa.
The power of Nelson Mandela and Republic of South Africa is just uniquely , I mean I can’t recall any other inauguration globally that was / is diverse in prayer as this one in South Africa
President Nelson Mandela is one of the greatest leaders, statesmen and global thinkers within the 20th and 21st Centuries. This Inauguration is unlike any inauguration that I have ever seen before or since!
Never will there be anyone like this. When he said that he was not a saint, please don't believe him, he was one. He was just saying that to encourage people who look up to him not to give up if they failed to follow in his footsteps because there'll never be anyone like him. He was basically saying "If you look up to me, you are going to make a lot of mistakes, but do not give up because you will never be like me, and no one ever will, and there is no shame in that".
From Philippines....Leadership and Humility....Great Strength...I admire so much how he endure it...I Learned lot of it, but to define...Sir Nelson Mandela only one...Thank you
This is a day I'll never forget, I never felt connected to my land like this ever since. Now that he's gone things are different, I truly miss him he made us to feel special during his time.
He even developed bilateral relationship with my country the Philippines during his presidency. That's the main reason why Philippines and South Africa are truly Best Friends Forever for the same mindset of optimism and unity. This president is the original ray of sunshine. On national anthem part: 6:27 - 1st one is in Afrikaans "Die Stem van Suid-Afrika" 7:35 - 2nd one is in Xhosa "Nkosi Sikelel iAfrika"
I love that people misunderstood that you are selfless n u are a true son off the Holy spirit that's why you listened and did gods deeds, money's and riches was never your priority♥️♥️♥️👌👌👌 u did your very best and now it's up to us to do the rest..rest Tata
Yes, do something about it if u have a problem, Mandela did what he could, u also have the right to be the next Mandela, no one is stoping you, low level is low level bro and high is high. Do something if u have a problem
I found it beautiful to see the white people in the crowd (including who I assume to be FW de Klerk and his wife) singing along to Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika. Coming together as a nation
I too will cherish his service from afar. Knowing he was an ordinary man called from his tribe to free the world of their hatred for other men and women
There's no rainbow nation here, we were never free to the core of complete liberation in this country. If you still maintain your view of rainbow nation, then why the issue of racism is significantly manifesting today
The ANC has gone far from what De Klerk and Mandela hoped it would do... best wishes for all people in South Africa -- Xhosa, Zulu, Tswane, Afrikaners, British settlers, Asian immigrants...
05:08 De Klerk listening to Sithembile Mlanjeni and Zolani Mkeva's traditional praise singing, thinking "Now I gotta listen to THAT for the rest of my political life."
Octavio Zerda emotional and excitement: this was the first event on the land history, I repeat this was the first event on land history....so you can imagine !
I'm not too sure, but it's a praise song - I think they are singing his name in praise. It's a common celebration in South Africa to sing and dance - not only for protesting, but as a means of a unified voice. That is why you will see people "dancing" at violent protests, because it's a form of community and expression.
emersoncf Zenani Dhlamini-Mandela. The elder sister of Zindzi. Remember that at this stage Mr Mandela has already separated with his beloved wife Nomzamo Winnie Mandela.

What do they sing at 18:50, just after Mandela signs?

why did the national song start with the Afrikaans???
Why not
Because as they had both anthems sometimes they sang first Die Stem and some times Nkosi.
Ranjai Because they are not real Africans
Kissing the Boeremag backside and we still do
because it was two seperate anthems, one for whites and one for blacks. It is not unified in a different composition
