It takes deep pockets to race vintage, everything seems to break all the time. I got quite tired of that with my s30. It's a beautiful car but the cancer in combination with 40+ year old parts, and the investment of time was unfortunately a deal breaker for me. Hopefully with success i will afford to race vintage autos. The old and wise seem to give these Z's the best life. Great video as always, brought good and bitter memories.
was looking to purchase a 510 just love how those cars were made growing up in Jamaica that was the arrow of racing cuz we are a third world country we are a little bit behind in mother and car.I would love to do one of those races. man you're living your dream
In this random video I will just express my mind.. just had my heart shattered and found out that love is as cruel as it can be sometimes. What a terrible day today. i wish I was as free as the ride in a car. Thanks for posting the video, it was a distraction. Inspiration to find freedom again.
Petrolicious is about quality not quantity, it´s not about the numbers it´s about being awesome every week. I get it though, You feel like such a great channel should be more recognized, and I totally agree. It´s very easy to spot a real car-lover, he/she is suscribed to Petrolicious, ;) (I don´t work for them, I just like the cannel)
The fairlady z has always an incredible euro style with the art of samurai and the spirit of his owner, that's the reason I love these cars, and I won't give up until I buy mine.
Thank you for doing another Datsun Z video. I have watched the others many times. Not nearly enough quality Z videos exist, and yours are the best. Cheers!
It is so hard for me to say which is my favorite episode of Petrolicious... I know some people will complain about the music being over the sound of the engine but isn't it the most freaking awesome sound track ever found in a video about car???? Cool Z by the way .
Your work is epic! I never skip the ad because you guys deserve every penny! Do agree with the other commenter on cutting in on the engine noise. Keep em coming though!
Mine is orange, I don't like their front air dam but I suspect they packed it full of cooling etc. so they need it, especially in Mexico heat. I have a BRE spook, they are functional and look great, but he probably has a huge oil cooler etc...but it looks like a crap 80's body kit add on.
I'm a big Datsun/Nissan fan, but I would love to see more on a the 60s S roadster in his collection. I also noticed the Try Ermish 510 sticker on the front. Fun times.
Great video, great car, great owner. Only one thing you left out: he calls it a 240Z, but painted 260Z on the fender. Why? If it started as a 260Z and became a 240Z-spec during race prep (or the other way around) that'd be neat to know.
Wait. Is it a 240Z or a 260Z? I know the title of the video says 240Z, but the decal on the fender at 7:46 says 'DATSUN 260Z'? Regardless, nice video with a cool story - Just wish there was less music and more engine sound.
Its a 260Z and he even says its a 260Z, but in the start he calls it a 240z Lol..Question why does the title say 240z is because they will get more hits.
What does it matter? They are all the same car, with basically very minor changes; the later models a little heavier, but not a problem, just add a few more horsepower. (I've owned a 1972 240Z, my missus had a 260Z, and my last car was a US 280Z converted to RHD and the EFI swapped for triple Mikunis)
No C J It was not, the 260 was one year only. 1974, I had a 260 it used a 2.6 liter engine where the earlier (as he says in the video 1972) had a 2.4 liter engine. Cool car either way.
Great video guys really appreciate the content. I might suggest you use no music at all since you seem to let it overpower the video. In fact maybe upload 2 versions one with and one unedited just raw sound?
My 280z has parts from 240's and 260's... Its the same shell people. Besides the vin, some interior trim, a few very slight body modifications and the bumpers, all 1969 1/2-1978 Z's are the same, even horsepower differs only a little in between changes to the engine sizes from the factory. The Z cars numbers refer to the engine size in liters. 240-2.4l 260-2.6l 280-2.8l All inline sixes, with 4 speeds until 76 when they offered the first optional 5-speed. My 280Z has mostly 240z interior and tail lights, original 2.8l but with the turbo manifold and 5 speed of a later 280zx. Love that parts interchange!👍
A sincerely brilliant video. One thing, stop hyping up Datsun Z cars before they cost more than I can afford haha. All joking aside, a brilliant video yet again, thank you
I've been looking for a datsun project car for a while now and I've yet to find one that I can afford. And it seems like every time I tell myself to just give up on looking for one I either see one in person, or one on youtube and I'm forced to keep looking. I'll find you one day, 240z, one day.
Secondo me siamo in tanti, sognatori e romantici appassionati di auto e moto che guardano i video di petrolicious (solo video putroppo) sbavando e sperando un giorno di poter possedere una qualunque delle macchine da loro così magnificamente esposte e presentate
Great video as usual. It would be great if you could include soundtrack song list -- like the comment below, I would like to know what was the jazz song?
says 260Z on the side, but since he said it is a 1972, it must be a 240Z as the 260Z didnt come out till 74. Not sure why you would put 260Z on the side of a 240...
240, 260 and 280 are named after the size engine in each of the renditions of Z cars.. 2.4L 2.6L and 2.8L. There were more changes in each introduction, but its one of the more major pieces.
Such speculations does not equate to owners rational. It looks like a Rebello engine, but it would be hard to know what it has been stroked to. Possibly to 2.6?
I am almost done with mine, I have been slowly going over it for years, mechanicals have been done for awhile but I still need to replace the fenders/hood and paint the front. I fixed the back up like new with new lights and a BRE spoiler. I got a rear disk kit and it is great! Keep going, it will get there!
4:49 Makes a perfect photoshoot. Lovely built especially for keeping it N.A , jenvey throttle bodies woud match the scene tho ? Thumbs up and watch out your lower back at those bumpy roads :)
one of the only car channels that doesn't use awful generic house music.
this is the third classic z video, and I still wouldn't mind a couple more.
It's actually the fourth. By the time I finish my '71 this channel will be 1/4 Z-car videos.
pics
Time flies when you´re having fun. An 8 minutes film seems like 3 or 4 minutes. Magnificent as always.
Refreshing to see someone who prioritizes the handling above all!
All Time favorite car of mine. Stunning and Mesmerizing
It takes deep pockets to race vintage, everything seems to break all the time. I got quite tired of that with my s30. I'd be curious to know how much he spends to race in mexico for two weeks. I'd bet with support staff its not cheap.
was looking to purchase a 510 just love how those cars were made growing up in Jamaica that was the arrow of racing cuz we are a third world country we are a little bit behind in mother and car.I would love to do one of those races. man you're living your dream

I've got both 280Z and 240Z - so freaking amazin cars... Suspension, handling, steering, power - Those cars are absolutely awesome.
Someone get this channel 1,000,000 subs, jeeeezus. This stuff is tiding me over for Forza Horizon 3 and giving me unique car ideas.
Petrolicious is about quality not quantity, it´s not about the numbers it´s about being awesome every week.

7:10 mark. Bad ass shot!
I think the music kicks ass. Makes me feel like I'm back in the era the car came out
the 70's, when cars had real style and character. the 240z is definitely a legend.
thats why I love my 240z project. they are timeless classics

The fairlady z has always an incredible euro style with the art of samurai and the spirit of his owner, that's the reason I love these cars, and I won't give up until I buy mine.
The swerve into the puddle of water is the most beautiful thing I have seen in a while.
Gotta love that classic 240Z sound!
this paint scheme is just gorgeous, congratulations, absolutely bealtifull
Thank you for doing another Datsun Z video. I have watched the others many times. Not nearly enough quality Z videos exist, and yours are the best. Cheers!
This video made me smile
It is so hard for me to say which is my favorite episode of Petrolicious...

Your work is epic! I never skip the ad because you guys deserve every penny! Do agree with the other commenter on cutting in on the engine noise. Keep em coming though!

Very good vídeo editing and music. And, of course, amazing car.
Beautiful z, wished mine looked like that
Mine is orange, I don't like their front air dam but I suspect they packed it full of cooling etc. so they need it, especially in Mexico heat. I have a BRE spook, they are functional and look great, but he probably has a huge oil cooler etc...but it looks like a crap 80's body kit add on.
this is one of my dream JDM cars! so sick! i love this video!
beautifully shot as usual
This dude has a Grom, just that alone makes him cool, all the other stuff just adds to that
2:28 RX8 tailights !
Goathier NO ONE CARES!!!
Cool video but please get into the details for us. Discuss the mods, what's under the hood, etc
Love the music in this one. Great video!
I'm a big Datsun/Nissan fan, but I would love to see more on a the 60s S roadster in his collection. I also noticed the Try Ermish 510 sticker on the front. Fun times.
Yet another great video.
amazing shots, like always
I'm so glad I own one of these.
The 510 featured looked pretty awesome too... Would love to hear the engine sound a little more
Another great video again!! Thaks for the music.
Great video, great car, great owner. Only one thing you left out: he calls it a 240Z, but painted 260Z on the fender. Why? If it started as a 260Z and became a 240Z-spec during race prep (or the other way around) that'd be neat to know.
Hate it when such a lovely machines are turned into a billboards
Didn't Petrolicious used to let us here the car? Was this one electric or something because i couldn't tell...
Always a good vids. Exceptional music this time.

Wait. Is it a 240Z or a 260Z? I know the title of the video says 240Z, but the decal on the fender at 7:46 says 'DATSUN 260Z'? Regardless, nice video with a cool story - Just wish there was less music and more engine sound.
judging by the rear side windows, I'm pretty sure it's a 260z
Its a 260Z and he even says its a 260Z, but in the start he calls it a 240z Lol..Question why does the title say 240z is because they will get more hits.

That engine looks so cool
Really good work guys. One day I hope to work with you guys you guys inspired me!
Your channel is awesome too - two of the few UA-cam channels I follow.
Thanks!
Taz Harvey, what a dope name!
This guy is cool as hell.
This was excellent!
Great video guys really appreciate the content. I might suggest you use no music at all since you seem to let it overpower the video. In fact maybe upload 2 versions one with and one unedited just raw sound?
Hey man...top classic...great work, congrats!
This year the Panamericana start in Querétaro. 🇲🇽
Nice car mate few cool ones in the shed 😀👍
this is more like the petrolicious I'm use to. A bit about the driver a bit about the car and very laid back love for cars!
Video title says 240z... Owner calls it z... Car says 260z... What is it? 240 or 260?
Probably a 240z running the L26 motor.
Ya, this what happend when its okay to be transgender....
260 and 240 are same shape and code (z31) so people often call one the other but they have small differences between them
My 280z has parts from 240's and 260's... Its the same shell people. Besides the vin, some interior trim, a few very slight body modifications and the bumpers, all 1969 1/2-1978 Z's are the same, even horsepower differs only a little in between changes to the engine sizes from the factory. ***** Nissan reffer to body as z31
A sincerely brilliant video. One thing, stop hyping up Datsun Z cars before they cost more than I can afford haha. All joking aside, a brilliant video yet again, thank you
Met wife hitchhiking, awesome, kudos
Mmmmmm vintage Z race car!!
when i saw the notification for this i spit out a little coffee in joy
Because I'm an RX-8 owner i'm just wondering why there's just a random set of S1 taillights at 2:25 lol
Why in the world would anyone gives this video a thumbs down?
I've been looking for a datsun project car for a while now and I've yet to find one that I can afford. And it seems like every time I tell myself to just give up on looking for one I either see one in person, or one on youtube and I'm forced to keep looking. I'll find you one day, 240z, one day.

Keep looking. I found one in pieces on an Indian rez in CA. $5,000. Some assembly required but it runs.

Congrats, I had a Z31 in college... still miss it. - JG
Very cool car info like the Datsun z cars
@2:19 it says 260Z ?
Secondo me siamo in tanti, sognatori e romantici appassionati di auto e moto che guardano i video di petrolicious (solo video putroppo) sbavando e sperando un giorno di poter possedere una qualunque delle macchine da loro così magnificamente esposte e presentate
the gearing must make this nuts!
Great video as usual. It would be great if you could include soundtrack song list -- like the comment below, I would like to know what was the jazz song?
Reeks of Paul Newman. I love it.
says 260Z on the side, but since he said it is a 1972, it must be a 240Z as the 260Z didnt come out till 74. Not sure why you would put 260Z on the side of a 240...

You just answered yourself. The motor probably was swapped to a 2.6l. Or the owner couldn't find the right emblem :P.
Such speculations does not equate to owners rational. It looks like a Rebello engine, but it would be hard to know what it has been stroked to. Possibly to 2.6?
Was wondering the same thing. Maybe he has a 2.6 in there
Cool guy and story. Another great vid, but agree that I'd like to hear move engine and revs.
Just saw your Carrera videos...awesome!
I wish they would do a karmann ghia.... beautiful car!
Love this :)
What car is the little hatchback in yellow ? 3:53
what a fun car.
Woe thats the dream

Why'd you guys post this, it reminds me that my z isn't done yet ;-;
I am almost done with mine, I have been slowly going over it for years, mechanicals have been done for awhile but I still need to replace the fenders/hood and paint the front. I fixed the back up like new with new lights and a BRE spoiler. I got a rear disk kit and it is great! Keep going, it will get there!
at 7:46 the marking on the car says 260Z, but video claim 240Z, which is it?
another nice video !
You should look for an Alfetta gtv6 sometimes, the engine sounds even better
Zravim Rudyho Vajdaka :) radost videt Českou vlajku. Diky
4:49 Makes a perfect photoshoot. Lovely built especially for keeping it N.A , jenvey throttle bodies woud match the scene tho ? Thumbs up and watch out your lower back at those bumpy roads :)
