Man it's 2022 and hearing "Proof of a hero" gives me goosebumps. I've poured more hours into this game than anything I've ever played and is easily top 3 favorite game.

Looking back at this, it's so refreshing to see that they initially announced this game with a trailer centered on ACTUAL GAMEPLAY. Practically everything about MHW amazes me because Capcom has really taken it upon themselves to make a game that caters to the player, even from the outset of this trailer.
There were no false promises in a pre-made, pre-rendered type cutscene of a trailer. What you see in this first announcement trailer is almost entirely accurate to the final game. Not only that, but the game ships with SO MUCH content in it and with more promised free DLC on the way. Are we back in like 2006 or something? Since when is it cool to release a full game with no DLC strings attached? I hope this game is getting the recognition it deserves because I'd definitely like to see Capcom's approach to MHW become the model for other triple A developers.

Don't get me wrong, 4 and Gen provided plenty new things, but this is the massive jump that needs to be witnessed.
Potionaholic Monster Hunter 100% didn't need regenerating health, quick time events, and automatic weaponry. Just because it looks good doesn't mean it'll be good. ;)
Did I mention anything about regenerating health, quick time events and automatic weaponry on my original post? While the traditional features like potions, herbs, manual movement and crafting system are likely expected, I'm more suggesting towards making Monster Hunter grant new feeling as you explore and make your hunt.
Potionaholic I'm welcoming it with open arms, and having a dedicated chat system on Xbox with friends will be nice.
What'd be awesome but probably not gonna happen, cross play with PS4/Xbox and PC
Potionaholic people tend to hate change even when the change improves thing's for the better, using the environment to your advantage, new ways to traverse the enviornments, and being able to traverse the entire area instead of loading from one section to the next, as well as improved grappling mechanics are welcomed additions to the series.
RoboGameBoy64 I think what i'm scared of is that if the grappling mechanics make the game feel to fast. I adore the slow clunky controls since it made your attacks feel like they had more weight to them
To think this game came out 4 years ago, seriously my favourite game hands down, I've poured over 1800 hours into this game and honestly if I had more time I'd keep playing it, it got me into monster hunter as a whole and because of this I even played 4U, GU and both MHSTs and now MHR

Play monster hunter Freedom Unite and use hammer. You’ll appreciate the monster more even the monsters that looks weak in world/iceborn

The Switch is Region-free! As I see it, Monster Hunter is already a franchise that requires a lot of charts/guides online for finding materials. Playing in a foreign language just means you'll need more. To some that doesn't really appeal, but to others it'll work fine. I can't read a lick of japanese, but I'll just need a bit more dedication

Y'know, despite all the rage and comments I've seen from the community this trailer for MH World seems more like a bridge between actual hunting and what Monster Hunter is. Doing all this stuff besides gathering items/materials, interacting with the environment makes it feel genuine imo

you do know that this game is casualized for western audiences, especially the mass crowd on consoles right? Dauntless and Monster Hunter on Nintendo are nowadays where its at, this is just a spin off game
The game got announced today and you're already making claims. Just because it has additions that make it seem casualized doesn't mean the core gameplay that we love will be vastly different.
It's pokemon Ultra SunMoon all over again... People creating whole reviews and judging the game by a 20-seconds footage from a reveal trailer.

Three years ago is when I first join this community. World gave soo many people an opportunity to join in on this wonderful community. I’m glad I took the time to play this game. I’ll be here for the next games to come.
It’s not just a masterpiece.
It’s a foundation for other game developers and industries to get their heads out of their ass and actually make something that has love and passion put into it.
Not a laundering cash grab, not another sequel every single year.
Just a really good game that has lots of substance and foundation built off of it.
You can tell just by playing it, the world they created feels like it’s breathing.
There’s so much depth and substance, it draws you in with its epic spectacles, and fills the gaps with its charming nature.
There is absolutely no other game that has touched my heart like this.
But more than that, it’s like a love letter to the first monster hunter.
I remember booting it up on my PlayStation 2, and feeling like I’m being transported into another world.
Regardless of its dated graphics, and hardware.
it was like nothing else I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience for myself.
Capcom made gaming not only fun, but meaningful as well.
even though I don’t talk to these people anymore because of life situations.
But I have made so many friends on my long journey through the universe of monster hunter.
Ah we’re the same 20 years vet of MH. This proves that only us who played since the O.G understand. That Kaname Fujioka reimagined his first game when he designed World. Like, “what I’m gonna do if I can create MH again from scratch?” World delivers and help Kaname to reach the stage he always aimed. Contrary to what people think, the O.G MH was designed to be Capcom flagship in multiplayer online gaming. And not as niche game only for higly skilled players. The game was made for everyone, and with World they finally reached and covered more global audiences. And after 20 years, there’s no better blessing than being alive when Kaname deliver his ideal MH at 2025.

I love how whenever I see footage of a Monster Hunter game it's always someone using a long sword or a bow, and I'm here flying through the air like a helicopter with my dual blades.

I'm so glad they've made new monsters, it's so refreshing. If I have to hunt another Khezu again, I think I might just hang myself. People are saying this monster looks "generic" but I think it's awesome. Those fold out fins look lit.
Justaperson well supposedly Japan loves Khezu so I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up unless they really are abandoning their core fanbase.
It looks normal, but its functions such as the snot on the nose, the drool and the wings are interesting.
Call me crazy, but when was the last MH game that didn't introduce at least a handful of new Monsters? Heck even the G versions have introduced more new monsters than we've seen so far.
Yeah but I personally liked a lot of the monsters from the 3rd generation (Gigginox, Agnaktor) etc which I thought mechanics wise were a step forward but due to whinging people with nostalgia, in 4th gen they got rid of them and brought back Gen1 mosnters whose mechanics are pretty bad and boring (Khezu). Anyway they've said the monsters in World will have much better AI and are more organic so I think any monster will be exciting and fun to battle.
They make new monsters every generation tho.

The best game that was ever made. It aged like fine wine. I still play it after playing it for thousands of hours since it released. Hopefully they will announce a new MH6 today at TGS, the hype is killing me.

@@yobud11 end game still hard solo. Lets not count the 1st gen and the 2nd gen because those games are hellish due to their controls and their stupid huge hitboxes, they are on different league.

Bowguns looks like it'll be getting a massive overhaul. Note that during the "gatling gun" sequence, the hunter was slowly waling backwards, and that fire rate is somewhat higher (the flashes doesn't seem to match the actual shots, though the fire rate seemed to be speeding up over time).
Literally the best game i played in my 30 years of live. And i think nothing will ever beat it..

Most people seem to settle on a few things.
Console, specifically PS4, is the ideal way to play the base experience due to getting the events our first and having fixes rolled out in a reasonable time. The playerbase also seems to have settled mostly there too.
PC makes up for this in spades with mods to bring some quality of life changes, such as adding in a transmog system to turn any armor into layered armor, solo scaling of multiplayer only monsters, and stupid shit like Yoshi or giant pickle Deviljho.
Switch doesn't have World but it has probably the best love letter to a specific franchise that anything can get in the form of Generations Ultimate, which I will say is the best Monster Hunter game that exists. Iceborne is a very close second.

It's been 5 years...I still remember the moment of me completely and beautifully losing my absolute shit seeing World's graphics.
This is truly one of the best Monster Hunter I've played and the best video game franchise Capcom had graced us.
Still gives me chills when he fires the SOS and you see the hunters coming in on flying beasts... capcom's world creation on this franchise is top notch... kudos.
The level of quality from over 6 years ago... Makes me very excited for the future. I feel proud to witness yet another installment of the franchise in Wilds
Both Monster hunter and Capcom keep on delivering.
