I'm so amazed by the monsters design everytime a MH game is announced
I'm impressed that Capcom can still come up with all these new designs after all this time.
The MH devs are certainly the best when it comes to designing relatively believeable fantasy creatures. They're somehow very simple and complex at the same time and you can easily tell it's a Monster Hunter monster with just one glance.
It's been 16 years now and the franchise keeps getting some of the best monster designs it has ever seen. Like just look at something like Tetranadon.. Everything about it is just amazing. I would certainly fight it rather than the over designed abominations most games produce.

Monster Hunter Rise is my first MH game and after reaching HR7, I can officially say that this game has taken over my life and I might fail my University for this beautiful game.

If any other World/Iceborne faces return in this game (which I’m sure they will), I hope Odogaron and Namielle return. Maybe Kulve Taroth in a brand new coat made of some different metal like they tease.
And while I’d love to see them, I think they said a while back though that Nergigante and Bazelguese couldn’t work on the switch because of the way their spikes/scales work.

Actually, that's a new temnocerin. Definitely looks a lot like Nerscylla but the eyes and lack of khezu skin cloak are a dead giveaway that it's a different species, which has me really excited because since we have both a new amphibian and temnocerin there's a possibility we'll also get a new snake wyvern :D... hopefully the OG spider herself is indeed in this game tho, even if her presence also means Khezu has to be in the game too

Gotta say what everyone’s thinking, if you’re coming from Monster Hunter World and you’re complaining about the gameplay graphics regarding rise then were you really ever in it for the more engaging mechanics regarding the hunting experience?
At least it looks a lot cleaner & sharper than the console versions of MHW. I played World on PS4 on launch until the PC version came out. On PS4 the game allways looked way too blurry.
Rise does has less detail & stuff going on than World, but it looks pretty sharp at least.

I do get Tokiden vibes from some of this shit. Especially the new flagship monster and just the general aesthetic but even then with the older monsters they showed as well it’s still got a good feel for Monster Hunter and does feel like an expansion of the actual game world.

Not a port, not a remaster, a brand new game exclusive for the switch, and graphically is very impressive, lets see what they can achieve in the little console.
Monster hunter games have a history of pushing handhelds to their absolute limits graphically, so I’m very excited.

In all seriousness, we haven’t seen a whole lot of the weapon designs yet so we don’t know forsure if slapons have been ditched. But if Iceborne’s dlc has been any indication, I think they got the point.

I love this game a whole lot. My first ever playing a Monster hunter game. It's so much fun. My weapon is the sword and shield. But I love using the dual blades, the switch axe, the bow, and the charge blade to.
I'm getting HUGE Toukiden vibes from this one.

I've been getting Toukiden vibes from MH for a while now. The Clutch Claw is blatantly the demon arm from Toukiden 2. The heavy Japanese theming in this one is making comparisons hard to avoid as well.
Monster Hunter came out in 2004. Toukiden is literally a Monster Hunter clone.
@@KingNexusMOCs The demon arm came first tho. However, freedom wars came up with the idea first. Freedom wars -> Thorns, Toukiden -> Demon arm, MH -> Clutch claw. It will be a matter of time when God eater follows suit.
@@RicochetForce Yeah, and that Magnamalo monster looks like it came straight out of Toukiden. If I put that thing next to Pyropteryx or Windshredder, it wouldn't look out of place at all. The purple demon aura certainly isn't helping. Game looks pretty cool, but I think I'll wait. I still don't have a switch, and I have to worry about budgeting right now.
@Kevin I will be a little more specific. If I put the aesthetic and overall design of this game next to Yakuma village (MH3) or next to Toukiden's villages (either 1 or 2), what does it more easily compare to? If I compare the glittering "wirebugs" to the clutch claw or the Oni Claw, what does it more resemble? If I compare traversal in this game to MHW or Toukiden 2, which is more appropriate? If the level design is more open world then it is unlike MHW which simply had large maps, and is closer to Toukiden 2 which was actually an open world game. If I compare the cast of Monster Hunter Rise and their overall designs do I think of hunters of a village, or do they resemble the "Slayers" of Toukiden?
The design of Monster Hunter Rise blatantly invokes memories of Toukiden from me, rather than any other prior Monster Hunter titles. It is so blatant in fact that I would almost say that it was on purpose. Like I said, not a bad thing.

Here 6.5 months later and the game is fantastic. absolutely mind blowing that I can play such a complex yet gorgeous game on the go. Me and my hunting buddy will be living off of this game for months and months to come, then we'll be first in line for the expansion.
If you're curious if this is a console seller, I will say this: If you like monster hunter, buy a Switch lite and have the time of your life. It's a game worth so much more than 60 dollars. Plus, once you do, play Breath of the Wild, Odyssey, MHGU, Luigi's mansion, or any of the other great games the Switch has to offer.
If you don't, it's a shot in the dark. But I will guarantee even people who have never played MH have the potential to fall in love with this game. If you're looking for something new, try Monster Hunter on a console you own, then come back to a review/gameplay example of this game and make your decision. You might see in it a game that you will have an absolute blast playing.
I just wanted to add this comment here due to all the frankly unintelligent/hateful comments on this trailer as of recent. This game deserves a lot of praise, as it's clear how much time, effort, and passion the developers put into making sure this game delivered as a next step in the monhun franchise. To me, this game hits fantastically in all the right places.
This looks like world combat mixed with the old world charm, safe to say...

It's old world. There are no ruins like that in the New World. As for Tobi, the MH team has gone on record saying they're willing to bend logic and lore for the sake of adding content to the game, that's why we have things like Zinogre or Barroth in the New World. And this is still a 5th gen title, it wouldn't be right not to include a good number of monsters from the 5th gen (here's hoping for Namielle and Odogaron).

My biggest problem with World was the lack of diversity with the monsters, so it's really good to see that they are bringing back the more different types.
I was disappointed that Nerscylla wasn't in world, but now it's back!
Would be a shame if world 2 came out seeing how well 1 did on pc they would put more resources to into it. Mobile gaming is fine but world is just mmmm remember world was a test.
Lack of variety, lol. Shut your ass up. We the actual MH community had to beg and plead with them to put the actually challenging monsters back in MHW and they did that in the form of a DLC. You know how depressing it is that I had to buy the game again just to fight fan favorites like; Nargacuga (insanely nerfed btw you got lucky), Zinogre ( not bad, actually challenging specially first Stygian), Glavenus ( Cake walk, was a beast in 4U), Rajang ( Should play any game from MH 2 to Freedom, Freedom Unite or Freedom 2 to see a real Rajang) and many many more. MHW and Iceborne is INSANELY ez and as refreshing as it is I wanna get back to the REAL grind. I will not accept another walk in the park, dumbed down MH game. Give me my beloved franchise back do not cater to these MHW plebs.

Real hunter commuity my ass REAL HUNTERS play on any platform with their squad including Mhw. At the end of the day we want monster hunter to grow. We saw a modern MH not limited by portable engines and and enjoyied all it offered. Mhw helped big time so big in fact it was Capcom first title to ever hit 14 million copys. So I'll say it again monster hunter world put in more than it's fair share of work and it was just a test if another one comes out and they go all in mmhmmm. No reason not to like both for what they do

I can’t believe my eyes. It’s like you took what I dreamed an engineered for Switch Monster Hunter game would be like.... and blew way past it. I’m such a fan of the Monster Hunter from the classic team, and they really served up an amazing new generation of Classic MH play here. The fact that you didn’t just bring back what you learned from previous games, but you brought in brand new aspects of combat and navigation never done in MH before. You managed to make a game preview, on the Switch, AFTER I played all the way into the End game ranks of both Generations Ultimate and World (On my gaming PC and PS4 Pro) and still manage to impress the heck out of me, with this one.
It’s not simply about next gen graphics, it’s more about Next gen gameplay. That’s the stuff that only comes from a great idea factory. I am just imagining all the new things I can do when this game releases.

I'm a pretty huge MH fan and I just LOVE the older titles, but this looks pretty... Bad. From the trailer, it seems it's like a Monster Hunter spinoff with elements from Toukiden: Kiwami. It doesn't have any feel to a Monster Hunter game, there is no resource gathering and there's going to be another gimmick to the fights, like clutch claw. It's just a monster mashup from the looks of the trailer. I'm glad it's for Switch, so I don't even have to think about it.
@@Koitsuba hey now, let's not be hasty and judge the game now. they are going to show more of the game in TGS on 25 and 26, so be more open minded and give them a chance to show the game. beside, this game is made by the b team that make the portable monster hunter game like monster hunter portable 3rd and MH generation ultimate.
