  • In this video I have another lineup of artifacts spanning from the ancient to the 20th century. Quite a few of them are literally frozen in the ground as well! An old flat button that was found in the video wound up being a silver button, which isn't a common find for me. The massive deer shed i found was stuck in a pile of sticks and debris that a beaver had made into a den. The last thing i was expecting to see when climbing over that den was a deer antler sticking out of it!
    The last point of the video is a big ol benton that had been walked past no telling how many times over the past few months. It goes to show you that no matter how many times you, or someone else has hunted a spot, there's always the possibility of finding one that had been overlooked countless times!
    Thanks for taking the time to check out the latest round of finds. Please like, subscribe, and comment with your thoughts on any of the finds!

      Thanks buddy, I really appreciate that. Funny you mention the silence of nature… I was just thinking the other day about how glad I am the sounds of nature is back in full swing now! The birds in full blown wild mode.. the squirrels barking at me.. frogs hollering for the ladies.. it’s gonna make for some good background noise to the upcoming videos! Thanks again for checking out the finds and for appreciating the simplicity of the videos. Good luck out there!

      Thanks man, i’m definitely lucky to hunt in a state with such an abundance of quality material! Although I do get envious sometimes of that quartz the rest of y’all find. I don’t find much of that at all! I was stoked about that deer shed though! I didn’t realize how big it really was until I got it home and compared it to the rest of sheds I’ve found over the years. That thing was fat! Haha thanks as always buddy!

    I sure love these videos of your hunts. Lots of surprises in this one. Nice tombac button. They seemed to be sticking out waiting for you to pluck them. That antler sure made you work for it. That was a real beauty! That last pull was a hog leg, Wow, excellent video!

      That antler was an interesting find for sure though… not sure if it was obvious in the video, but it was stuck in a beaver den! I thought that was the craziest thing that a beaver took the time to grab that shed and add it to the pile of gnawed off sticks and mud to make its den with! Haha Animals are crazy. Salutations My Friend,
    First off, I pray all is well in your camp, all your people are healthy and thriving!
    And then, are you having fun yet? I am certain that you have already put near one hundred miles of boots on the ground, doing the work, already this year, these videos don't just magically record and edit while you nap the day away, make themselves without you knowing! I doubly appreciate the effort you put into your endeavours, each offering you present to the public have that same similar signature feel that we are fortunate and happy witnesses to, ot is a rare consistency in the industry that has become a regularity in your craft, that high quality is equally met with each and every your releases! Well, that was certainly a mouthful, but it was something that should be reiterated often or just any chance someone gets to forward their, and the community at large, appreciation and thanks for giving us so much of yourself while needfully documenting the treasures that thrill us all! I must say, you picked up some really great artifacts once again, with a few customary bonuses this round of hunting, but that antler shed! What a surprise you acquired there, and I am thankful you kept digging at it, didn't give up easy and abandon it....I think it something special, but every thing that you salvage is special! Thank you for doing as you do, I sense a reverence in your methods of operation, and I am always proud to share in your discoveries, share discourse and know your feelings, because you have a heart!
    Cheers and Blessings My Friend! CIAO!

      Thank you once again! Your thoughtful comments never go unnoticed and are so greatly appreciated. Spring has begun, so all is well and getting better by the day! With it comes the rains that assist in revealing the abundance of artifacts that will only lay still for a short time, until the next wave or rain event will surely wash them into the depths never to be seen again. It’s a constant hunt. But it’s a constant source of joy for me. So I take it all in as much as I’m allowed! Even the deer sheds. Haha It never ceases to amaze me the randomness of what might be found along my walks. Each find bringing intrigue as to what it could be, or how it came to its resting before me. Either way, it all adds to the joy for me.. and that is what it all comes down to. Sharing my finds with like minded people adds to that joy, and is something I enjoy doing. Thank you as always!

      @Points365  5 місяців тому +1

      Baha welllll it was a little different than the usual for me. This one I thought might be silver, which it did wind up being. But the main reason I hold something up for so long and from every angle is because I’m hoping someone will see something I don’t, and chime in with their thoughts on it to give me better insight…. And you know I blew the dust off the ol detector hit it up! I think the next video I put together is gonna be of just that. Me hitting up a few different sites I hunt for native artifacts with the metal detector. I already have the footage.. already found the goods.. now the hard part.. making the video!😓 Thanks for coming back to check out the new round of finds and for patiently sitting through the button showcase.😂

    You must really like sheds. You went after that with a bit more gusto than it seems you do with artifacts 😉 And is that from a deer or a moose? It has a pretty wide beam at one point.
    I caught that little crinoid stem fossil in that small one after the shed. Sweet. I had a dark Mercer flint (?) end scraper with a white crinoid stem. Full white circle with dark/flint star in the middle.
    Stay Safe out there!

    • @Points365
      @Points365  5 місяців тому +1

      Haha that’s too funny! I guess I was a little excited to find a shed considering how many times i’ve walked through the woods looking for them with no luck! Go figure… out artifacts hunting and find one sticking out of a beaver den! Definitely a whitetail… massive one at that. By far the largest shed I’ve found so far.
      It’s so crazy how y’all can watch these videos and point out minute little details about certain artifacts though! Like the fossil in the base of the little one… a couple others have pointed that out as well. It’s amazing what doesn’t get past y’all! Haha What really hurt when it was pointed out was on my “ride along..” video. Someone pointed out an artifact I walked past. 99% of the time when someone says that, I rewatch it and see what they are talking about and can usually convince myself it’s a flake or something. Not in this case… somewhere around the 15 min mark as I step over 2 little logs, there’s a beautiful, red, and large buck creek laying just in the water. I know I didn’t see it because I remember worrying about splitting my pants as I stepped over that log, and looking up in the roots of that tree. But man that hurt seeing me walk past it! Another example of the keen eyed viewers! 😂

  • @scottnock5241
    @scottnock5241 5 місяців тому +1

    Crazy!! Superman does it again!! I mean frozen points sticking up out of the sand saying pick me up!! A Celt plain a day vertical?? The smallest buttery arrow point!! To the massive log jam and only a pedical of a what half a 145” split G2 rack was completely buried to a killer wall hanger!!! I’m telling you play the power ball bro, You will hit!!!!! lol. I was thinking about you this week actually, if you got as much of that rain as we got in Pittsburgh 8” you’re going to have a better year than last year if that’s possible!!!! This is a 20 year flood event for us it’s bad!! All the water is over all the dams in Pittsburgh!!! It looks like the Amazon river!!!! But those banks are going to kick out some good ones!!!!!!! Over 35’ high!!!!!!

    • @Points365
      @Points365  5 місяців тому

      Haha man if I was as persistent with the lotto like I was my artifacts, or spent as much on tickets as I do on gas hunting artifacts, then I believe anyone could hit it!😂
      But man, we didn’t get the rain in abundance like you did for sure! We only got a little over an inch here. But as you know, only trace amounts of rain can make a huge difference as far as revealing artifacts. You are in store for one heck of a next few years easily! We got a massive flood here in 2010. The effects of that flood on the waterways can still clearly be seen today if you know what you’re looking for. That and the artifacts that were revealed due to that flood event 14 years ago are still being collected today. Slower now for sure, but still more exposed because of that single event. With the destruction comes some sort of reward… maybe not for some, but to people like us it helps a bit! I’m excited for you. No doubt the finds will be found in abundance for years to come!

    Nice finds! How do you date these?

    • @Points365
      @Points365  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! You can get a rough estimate of the age on most artifacts based on what type they are.. which is based off of a number of things like the shape of the base, size, flaking, etc.. The dates for each point type is acquired by archaeological digs, and dating the strata in which each particular type of point is found. The benton at the end of this video for example is dated between 4,000-6,000 years old. Mind blowing! 🤯

If I peed on it, at least I’d get to keep the cam rolling throughout the whole process with my free hand… I’d have to learn to blur out part of the screen in post video production though. Not trying to run that kind of channel here!😂

      @@Points365 Hahaha, peeing is kinda gross, but extremely effective! Why when I hunt in the winter I try not to pee until I find one, or just can't hold it any longer. Absolutely love your channel, like the other guy said, best one out there. You concentrate on the find, not yourself, let the piece do the talking.
