      William. I am a old man, 62, cancer at age 50, and open heart surgery at 57. And three days a week riding my off road bike. With more reasons to do what I love. So if you want to do the Baja, do it. It is not unsafe, and its a good reason to prepare yourself and be in good shape. It you ever need more details, I will be happy to help. Regards

    Great, helpful video. I was hoping to go to Baja in November 2017 to see the Baja 1000 but had motorcycle issues. Will try in 2018. This video has been very helpful. In the meantime I'll be studying my Spanish!

      Robert I am glad it was helpfull for you. Yes you should go on the Baja 1000 season, you will find hundreds of motorcycle riders. Just consider hotels or places to stay are crowded on that time.
      If I can be of any help, do not hesitate in contacting me. And great that you are practicing your spanish.

    Thank You Javier! (I don't use that exclamation point indiscriminately) Very nice video. I have wanted to go to Baja for years. I think that having a Mexican citizen toss out the welcome mat makes it all the more enticing. I can't believe there hasn't been ten times the views. Seems a bikini girl in the thumbnail is the key to that level of eyes. Awesome drone footage also. Excellent English also. I assume you must communicate in English regularly? How proficient in Spanish would you recommend one should be, especially if one travels alone in Baja. All the best to you, Tom

    Here’s a good tip.
    When you’re taking a motorcycle trip to Mexico...
    Bring couple of Mexicans along with you! They speak the language know the proper etiquette and will keep your ass out of trouble.
    That’s my 2cents.

    • @javiermexico1065
      @javiermexico1065  4 роки тому

      Ja ja, very good idea, but at the Baja, you will be surprised finding more foreign adventurers than Mexicans. But me as a Mexican will be honored to travel with you any time. Regards from Mexico.

    This is a trip that I very much want to do. My thought is to have a week long family vacation in Puerto Vallarta. The family would fly there while I ride down through Baja and take the ferry across. For the trip home I would just quickly go up the peninsula on paved roads over a couple days. So for them it would be one week in PV and for me it would be a bit over a week down, a week in PV and a few days back up.
    The issue here is that I am a new rider with only a few months under my belt. By the time I did this I would have maybe a year of riding experience. Would I be biting off more than I can chew doing this, especially if I do it by myself?

    Lubricate your chain, are you sure about that? Chain doesn't need any grease, links are sealed! Lubricate exist just for industry profit, that's it. Btw, very informative video, cheers.

    • @javiermexico1065
      @javiermexico1065  4 роки тому

      Appreciate your message. I like to have my chain and sprocket clean, they last much longer. After cleaning chain all chain lub goes away, I like to have seals well lubricated using Maxima Chain Lub in order for them not to crack and have a damaged chain. I am 62, riding since 1975, thousand's of miles off and on road, never had a single chain link damaged. I always travel with a bottle of Maxima Chain Lub.
      But I respect all suggestions and different experiences. I like to suggest what has worked best for me, after so many years and hours enjoying motorcycling.

    Javier, gracias por el video. Este viaje lo quiero hacer, tengo muchas ganas. Quizás este Marzo o Abril. ?Se puede llegar a la frontera y sacar los permisos de importe para la moto allí mismo? Yo viajaría de Santa Fe, Nuevo Mexico.

    • @javiermexico1065
      @javiermexico1065  3 роки тому +1

      Si llegas por California, no necesitas ningún permiso para entrar a Mexico, tipo Tijuana y de ahí legalmente puedes recorrer toda la Baja hasta los Cabos sin necesidad de algún permiso ya que todo Baja California Sur y Norte se considera Zona Libre. Si tu quisieras viajar hacia el interior de Mexico ejemplo de la Paz por el Ferrie a Mazatlán Sinaloa, entonces si necesitas un permiso temporal para viajar al interior de México, este permiso lo debes tramitar via internet y lo puedes pagar con Tarjeta de Crédito. Checa informacion aqui: www.mexpro.com/mexico/vehicle-import-permit.html
      Creo que tambien requieres seguro de tu moto además del Temporary Importation Permit.
      En www.mexpro.com puedes sacar el seguro.
      Pero recuerda para toda la Baja Norte y Sur no necesitas absolutamente nada, yo he rodado la Baja mas de 5 veces con muchos amigos Americanos con motos con placa Americana y pueden circular libremente, igual como los Mexicanos. Si necesitas los tracks off road de la Baja, contáctame y te los regalo. Saludos

    • @javiermexico1065
      @javiermexico1065  6 років тому +1

      Davinder you need to get a Garmin GPS, the Map E32 is a map software specialy made to uploaded in your Garmin GPS, in fact you need to see on which garmin GPS model you can upload this E32 map, I have a new Motorrad Garmin Navegation V the GPS specually made for BMW and by far the Map e32 has more details and all the off road trail.
      In summary get a Garmin GPS and upload the Map E32 map software.

    Javier, gracias por el video. Es posible que yo pueda viajar en moto por Baja este Marzo. Y tu video me dio muy buena información. Los papeles que mencionaste al final. Los necesarios para importar las motos temporalmente. ¿Esos los puedo obtener en la frontera? Voy a viaja de EEUU.

    • @javiermexico1065
      @javiermexico1065  4 роки тому +1

      Luis Gerardo, supongo que tu vienes de US a Mexico.
      Te sugiero ver el web page que aparece en video donde puedes pagar el permiso temporal para ingresar la moto a México. No necesitas este permiso para circular por todo Baja California México, solamente lo necesitas si ingresas al interior de México si asi es el caso te conviene tomar el Ferrie de la Paz a Mazatlan importante debes tener el permiso ya pagado antes que pretendas entrar al interior de Mexico. Te recomiendo investigar el la pagina web que indico en video. Si necesitas algo mas, avísame. Saludos desde Guadalajara México.

Te lo agradezco mucho.

    When did Mexico start requiring a "Carnet de Passage"? for temporary importation? I have heard from Horizons Unlimited and Adventure Rider, that this is not necessary. Did this change???

    • @javiermexico1065
      @javiermexico1065  5 років тому

      If you want to ride through Baja California México North & South you do not need temporary importation permit, if you need to bring your vehicle into Mexico ( Main Land) you do need a temporary importation permit, which by the way it is very cheap and easy to get. I have heard that you do it online.
      I remember I posted a link or a web page where you can find all the necessary procedures you need to accomplish. Just remember if you want to travel from La Paz Baja to Topolobampo o to Mazatlan using the Ferrie, yo need to board the Ferrie already with your temporary permit, there is no way you can get this permit at the Ferrie. If you need further info contact me.

      Javier, I saw that you published the name of a company doing this kind of trips. Do you know of any group making this trip during Holly Week? Or, how do you recommend doing it by one single person? Is that too dangerous? Do you think it’s easy to find other riders on the way?

      @@tontritoes3664 Look, I do not recommend doing this trip just yourself. I had to pospone my Baja trip because of a leg injury one week before starting.
      We will start another trip from April 1 to April 11, if you want to join us you are welcome. We ride having fun, relaxed, taking videos and many pictures, considering a cero falls ride, not on racing mode.
      There are some people that charge you for arranging a Tour but I fo not know of any.
      Our ride is basically with friends and each pays its own expenses and that's it. A friend from Tijuana that lives in San Diego is the one that is forming this group.
      If you are interested, inform me and I will send you my email address and then my mobile phone so we can talk about it. Regards

      @@tontritoes3664 You should contact my friend Miguel Miranda, he lives in San Diego CA, but is a known Dentist in Tijuana, he rides the Baja every weekend and is a great person and knows the Baja very well, in fact he is the leader of a big off road group including people from the US and from Mexico.
      Send me an email and I will give you my mobile phone and Miguel's number and I will send you Miguel's youtube channel link.
      Again regards

    Don't ruin a good informative video with annoying music while you're talking leave the music for the part were you're not talking, so we can focus on listening you, not the music.
