This is a trip that I very much want to do. My thought is to have a week long family vacation in Puerto Vallarta. The family would fly there while I ride down through Baja and take the ferry across. For the trip home I would just quickly go up the peninsula on paved roads over a couple days. So for them it would be one week in PV and for me it would be a bit over a week down, a week in PV and a few days back up. The issue here is that I am a new rider with only a few months under my belt. By the time I did this I would have maybe a year of riding experience. Would I be biting off more than I can chew doing this, especially if I do it by myself?

My friend, I appreciate your message. To bad you could't make an adventure trip with your Dad, but for sure plan one with your daughter. I have three boy and one daughter, and yes it is worth making a trip like this that will never be forgotten. With my daughter a did a solo trip just her and myself from Guadalajara Mexico to Alaska and back, the two in one bike, 39 days, 11,500 miles round trip. Beside the beauty of making this trips, the bond you make with your children in incredible. If you want to see the documentary made of this Alaska trip see in youtube the following name: Alaska by Motorcycle Father and Daugther. It is in spanish but watch the end of the video, you will see the most better pictures of the trip. My daughter is a professional photographer. Regards from Guadalajara Mexico.

I still remember a trip we did back in the early 90s together with him and my brother, both of whom have passed on. Maybe one day I will get to ride in Mexico, I will look you up.
