I no bullshit just sent him the channel info and "He has this proper British accent that makes you forget he can rip your arms off and beat you with them."
This guy! Interesting face, and accouterments, with a suave laid back affect and how he speaks is brilliant and unique. Could listen to his coaching and techniques breakdowns for hours!
@@BradleyHill thank you Bradley. I'm getting ready to go to the academy right now. I can't wait to try some moves I learned from your channel. Have a nice weekend!
Here are two white-belt realisations I remember. 1. When kneeling, don't kneel _up;_ keep your centre of mass low. 2. Don't _accept_ sweeps. Beginners tend to think they're supposed to 'go with the flow' constantly. Wrong. Just don't let them sweep you.
That took me a long time to realize: I would tend to get in a bad position and just give up. Like of my partner setup the armbar, I would just start extending my arm as of he already got the sub. I started to notice too that instead of defending, I would start prepping my tap hand. We called it "pre-tapping" when the hand starts to float up in the air because you know the attack is about to lock down. I'd call that a "training scar". Took a long time to heal.
Great tips. Guilty white belt here, just grabbing and hanging on for dear life and wondering why I've not subbed them yet or why I'm stuck on my back 🙃 hope the channel blows up mate really good, understable, in depth content.. just what I'm after 👊🏻
10:50, when it begins to fail, we need to get out of there and...This critical most important detail that even upperbelts over here dont realize there is no use of keeping it no matter what.
Subscribed! Great content, rolling tonight and definately going to try pass the guard with what I've learned from this video. Where do you train? Your accent sounds like you're not a million miles from me
Hey Master, could also teach No Gi? Pls. I don't know much about jujitsu but I need it to learn. I subscribed to you bcz your movements are so smooth and reliable. I just wanted to learn more things in No Gi so that I can use it for street fighting just in case to improve my self defense. 😊 Pls Master.
Can I ask advice for someone with a badknee, I cannot flex my left leg much after a bad army knee surgery, and most positions on bottoms I cannot adequately do. Half guard is ok though. I cant stand bacl up really after dropping to a knee for doubles and singles anymore
Sure! You’re best adapting your game to your knee. So will be a lot of guard pulls to half guard and working your sweeps from bottom. In the meantime you can strengthen your knee and practice techniques and see which moves you can do comfortably
ATM I can only get to two sessions on the mat at my current club which I have been training with for 1 month. If I also do sessions at another club I can fit in 2 extra sessions. Someone said that would be a bad idea as the lineage would be different and the basics would be different. Is this true or just likely to mean 1 club dislikes the other? I don't want other people's ego to be the reason I take twice as long to learn. The classes I attend now are open level so I often feel the concepts are well beyond my ability and I want to train more intensively to bridge that gap. I want time to drill at least the basics to become automatic.
Hey Sharla, my advice would be to get as much training in as possible regardless of club. Usually the teams that discourage cross training are afraid of the competition, so try a few clubs in your area and you might want to do all of your training there or at another academy. Let me know how you get on!
Problem I run into with closed guard is when I try to stand everyone’s Grab Lapel and breaks my posture so I can’t stand. I never hear of anyone addressing this on UA-cam. One stripe white here.
100% saying NOT TODAY GOOD SIR in my next roll.
Best comment ever... Kuddos!
never go full 100
Hit a buddy with "get off my damn lapel cowboy" the other day he laughed and choked me in 20 seconds
Bradley's voice makes me want to sit up straight and mind one's manners. 😂
