@@DrTomBiernacki thankyou for this wonderfully informative video,i really appreciate your help...The majority of my varicose veins are behind my knee and only on my left leg (I shattered my ankle in a car accident at 23 and I also have a skin graft on my ankle) and I'm assuming this is what has caused my venous insufficiency...I has surgery on a big vein that popped out the back of my knee,it was round and at first they thought it was a bakers cyst but after the vascular ultrasound they knew it was a vein and i apparently had many misbehaving veins in this leg...I had it stripped at 34 years old and now 7 years later i have a patch of varicose veins behind my knee that have gradually sprouted over the years...I'm feeling those familiar symptoms again, heaviness, aching and occasional itchiness and in summer swelling of my feet and legs...I'm a slim 41 year old female and i go to gym every second day, i also eat super healthy and don't drink or smoke....I'm wondering if because the troublesome veins are behind my knee if I should get compression stockings or socks ? I figured stocking but i just wanted to make sure..And for the fit king air compression massager would i be better off buying the calf ones or the full leg ones ?

Hi! I really enjoyed this video! This video answered so many questions, very thorough and informative. Thank you so much for providing great information. I’m getting holes in my legs and ankles but not getting a proper answer what’s causing this. I had a Doppler done last year and it didn’t give me much but the doctor stated I have edema but not explaining why I’m getting the holes in my legs and ankles can you help me with this? Thank you so much!

Despite your thoughts on being barefoot, I switched to xero barefoot shoes from super supported orthotic inserts/brooks I used for years and I’ve stopped overpronating. Restricting your feet and toes in modern footwear restricts circulation I think more then anything. Barefoot is the way to go, just strengthen your feet slowly.
Why does no one talk abot Canenne? Cayenne pepper has the power to soothe inflammation and bloating that comes from allergies, food sensitivities and infections. 7. Works as Anti-Irritant. Cayenne pepper benefits include its anti-irritant properties, making it effective in easing ulcers, upset stomachs, cough and even potentially stop diarrhea. It's good for heart disease, too!
Great tip!
I believe in Cayenne paper 👌❣
I'm drinking it now in some tea. I have a sore throat, it's very soothing.
Pain killer when taking a bath with it.
I have high BP and heart disease, can I put Cayenne pepper in a capsule ?
Update*** I started taking 3 capsules of Cayanne Pepper 3 times a day. I'm completely of my BP meds. I feel so much better. I have my energy back.
I am a fellow physician and learned something new !! Keep up the great work 💫
The best way to remove them is to cut out all sugar, fructose corn syrup, and cut your carbs and starches. I’ve done it on my feet (which were the only ones I had). Doctors only want to prescribe drugs and surgery. You are what you eat and if you eat processed food you are sick.
That will not work for everyone. I’ve done all that, no change
If you are into indurance sports you eat a lot of carbs, maltodextrin, gels etc...
I am 4' 11" weigh only 98 #'s. I eat healthy, exercise. The Spider veins problem is Way more than diet, so please don't categorize( judge ) and put everyone in a tight little box. 🤨 Genetics is huge! I watched another video( not his) that it's over 65-70% of the problem , But the great news is a person can heal( change it- their spider vein issue- mine- through this dr's recommendations( definitely)! 😊
My diet is crap. Too much diet soda!!
You said it so much better than me 😍
I'm 60yrs now I had veins at my age at twenties.my veins was like chillies in my legs and thighs.its like one month I have been listening to the Doctors here in you tube channel and physio.
It's gone the chillies in my thighs and legs.
Thanks God with the Doctors and physio in you tube channel.
I have had 9 DVTs in my lifetime starting when I was 15. Now 61.
I can vouch for the leg vein health capsules by natures way I’ve been taking them for over 30 years helps me tremendously
Hi. Where do you get these capsules and how much? Thank you
Happy I saw this cus I was about to order some and was like let me do more research first lol
This teaching is exactly what I needed! You've saved me a lot of pain and money! 10 stars for this channel!
The stretch should be held continually for 2 minutes, as that is the ideal time to stretch shortened fascia. If you stretch 20 seconds or less, you make the problem worse, as the body tightens up in protection at first and then lets go very slowly.
Good to know becuz I do that and will stop now
I had very bad plantar fasciitis pain last year & tried all the recommended 20 seconds stretches which did not help until I watched a video that says to hold the stretch for a full 2 minutes. Tried it just a couple of times and my plantar fasciitis pain is practically gone!
Don’t know what you’re credentials are but physical therapist and research show to hold a stretch about 30 secs.
@@ronn68No, passive stretch to increase range of movement of soft tissue, is done for 2 minutes; thus instructed during Physiotherapy training.
I've been wearing the "Futuro" brand 20 to 30 pressure compression knee high socks for 25 years. They are not nearly as hard to put on as the medical 30 to 40 pressure compression socks. I personally needed more help than the 15 to 20 pressure compression, which did absolutely nothing for me.
Thank you for all of the helpful advice. I'm happy I found this yt channel .
I have tired legs with spider veins from 20 years in retail, although I haven't worked since 2009, I still do quite a lot at home: cooking, cleaning, etc.!
Compression socks help relieve the pressure and some pain that i feel standing in the kitchen, however, I don't wear them often because I think they cause spider veins in my upper legs above my knees.
The vionic brand is pretty good, but they are mostly made with synthetic materials which cause my feet to sweat; that leads to other undesirable problems.
I really hope the foot and leg industry grows to include natural leather, wool, etc.
Best I’ve seen on the topic! Excellent! Love all the helpful product recommendations! So glad you dig into reasons why only one leg may be affected! My son is 30 and thin and healthy, but stands a lot for work. Such a mystery that only left leg is severely affected! Concerning! No family history at all. He is vegetarian, mostly vegan, never smoked, doesn’t drink.
George, thanks for the great response!
You may be correct about your son's leg. Standing long hours or injury may contribute to vein issues.

I used witch hazel on my veins today. It relieved the pain !❤ Excellent video!❤
I have worn Birkenstock’s since 41 years now as house shoes. They have kept my foot arches in place and varicose veins to a minimum. I only have one tiny spider vein at 56.
@lotusblume613,
You are a great fan, and we appreciate you!
All Birkenstock sandals I had were very comfortable in use and provided very good foot support. They also last longer than any generic sandals.
I happy to hear that you found solution that helps you.

All the best to you!
Birks started making me have back pain, so I had to give up 20 years ago!
I've tried broken stocks and even though I'm 5 foot 6 and 120 pounds they are too narrow at the ball of the toe and rub my big toe as well as the toe crest are not at the correct location so I'm meeting to find wider natural toe box shoes. Birkenstocks are also completely unflexible and I think they have a metal shank in the soul so it's like walking on 2 planks of wood for me. with foot injuries it's torture.
Omg this video is more informative then all the Dr’s I’ve seen in person.
Thank you Michigan Foot Doctors for the Information
I heard that eating orange peals and other citrus fruit peals make your veins stronger
So grateful for the explanation and suggestions.
Doc you are the best ,you understand how people can't afford compressions ,such a 👍 nice advices, you save so many lives, you are blessed that sharing your medical advice is a life savers, thank you so much , bless your heart!
Your Varicose VainTips have helped me immensely. I'm planning on incorporating several of these tips. In 6 mos. I'll be 80 therefore, l don't have time to waste. We don't seem to have many Doctor's (that I've heard of) here in Durham, NC that specialize in your vain wellness tip. I've had the vain stripping and the other issues you went over along with a large Bakers System. I keep active and have recently got back into walking again. Please keep using your gift of helping and caring for others! This comes from above none other than Jesus!
Great that you are taking care of yourself, love.
You have to strengthen your feet as you walk barefooted. Toe raises. Rotate your ankles. Walk on your heels. Leg raises. Work on splits and sit cross legged as much as possible. Walk around .
Take a Gentle Yoga class!!!
This is a great video. A lot of good information. Well spoken. and explained. I especially appreciate your honest and transparency.
I’m glad I saw your video. I have been thinking about going to get this procedure done. It seems pretty simple and are so calm! 😌. Thank you 🙏🏻
Forget the slippers and get the surgery. It would be the smartest thing to do in your life. Trust me, I've been there.
This is the most informative and well-explained video about varicose veins I have ever watched. Thank you so much for your expertise and time!
Wow 😮. I'm only 7mins in and the part about reduced flexibility and veins has blown my mind 🤯

Fantástic video about CAUSES!! It confirmed a lot of things I suspected were the causes
An amazing, detailed video!!! Doctor, thank you!!!
Excellent information. Went to a vascular specialist, had surgery with dismal results. Learned more concisive information here than the repeated visits to the doctor who offered no teaching of preventive measures, causes, foot wear, etc. Again, thank you for this excellent, reasonable realistic information. Will pass this website onto others.
I’m thinking to do a surgery, would you recommend?
Very interesting. I'm a 73-year-old cyclist, keeps the legs working pretty good so far.
I was and still am an extremely fit, slim and athletic runner, yet I still developed hidden varicose veins caused through past DVT aged only 36. I developed a venous ulcer on the inside of my left leg which was just managed by our UK NHS for eight years. I was desperate so I referred myself to a specialist vein clinic in London, had a Duplex Vein Mapping Scan Echotherapy, Transluminal Occlusion of Perforators followed by Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy. It was the best £6,000 I ever spent and I haven’t looked back since 2018.
These exercises this doctor is demonstrating would have done absolutely NOTHING for me.
Thank you for this.
Thank you for sharing! I really appreciate all the valuable information and glad I came across your channel!

I will try these home remedies before calling vascular surgen. My situation I work at hospital I'm on my feet 12 hours a day for about a month I'm feeling pain on my right calf and behind my knee I noticed I have vericose veins in that area. They hurt its been about 3 weeks. The pain subsides when I rest then it starts again when I'm at work especially when standing too long
You might benefit more from pressure stockings instead of knee highs.
This was extremely helpful, and I appreciate the way you present the information, thank you for your work.

This video was awesome 👏🏾 I have now subscribed. Please keep them coming
Thank you so much Doctor
I just noticed last week the inside of my left knee and the calf just below the knee having zig zag veins bulging out. I was extremely concerned. Just watched your video, and relieved to know there are measures I can take to help resolve this issue without any surgical procedure. Will certainly use these techniques and products and then come back with my feedback.
Thanks for this video
I got rid of my spider veins by using BPC 157. Just injected around the area. Pretty amazing stuff.
It may be a bad idea on a long term. Wact the evolution.

I’m 38 and have been dealing with this for the last 10 years. This video has been very helpful.
Same. The problem started when I was pregnant, 11 yrs ago. I'm the same age as you.
I just discovered your videos and they are thorough and excellent! I take a holistic approach with my health the last 5 years and pretty much don’t trust most allopathic medicine especially after the last 2.5 years. I’m happy you seem to take a more natural approach. I’m slim, have always exercised, eat healthy and have been getting spider veins since my 40’s. I had 3 pregnancies. I got saline injections and a vein burned about 12 years ago and it didn’t seem to make any difference.😩I still have leg pain and a varicose vein behind my right knee. Sad that I can no longer wear shorts in the hot weather in public because I’m so self conscious about it.😮
I also have bunions😩
I also was not wearing shorts but I just started wearing them again and I'm self-conscious but oh well
I have varicose on the back of my left knee and I'm 24 years old. I have always been slim too and exercise, but its genetics from my grandmother lol. I still wear shorts and skirts tho because I dont care about the visual (Im watching this video to get rid of the ache) and if anyone has a problem with a few prominent veins behind my knee I could not care less
@@ivankovwink1311 I also have achy legs and mild pain.
I am sorry to hear that! You can also try Ashtanga yoga every morning, all the stretching and cardio exercise you need

Thank you for this realistic common sense professional advise. I have been watching your video while applying a cold pack to my annoying varicose vein just below my knee; it shrank and the leg feels better. Your advise on compression socks, shoes helps a lot.
Just watched your video. I have been dealing with varicose veins over 30 years. Had them operated about that long ago, but as you said in the video, they came back. Currently, I work from home, so I am sitting 8-9 hrs a day, went to see a vein doctor, but then I thought they would come back, so decided not to start treatment. I like the exercises you mentioned in the video and will get me the compression stocking soon (the doctor told me which is the one I need to wear). Very informative video. Thank you.
Flight crews have bad veins frequently too 😢. Ive had several ablations done. None of my veins were visible. Just lots of swelling and eventually ulcerations. Duplex ultrasounds diagnosed chronic veinous insufficiency.
I just happened to fall upon your varicose vein video today. Really enjoyed your presentation. Not pushing doctors. Starting out with low cost items till you find what works. Even your recommended sneakers were the best advice. I use Brooks. I love them. I'll be following you. Thank you and keep up the good work.

What's disappointing is I have been a fedex courier for 35 years and 6,'2" and 200 lbs, slim and trim, and did even more that you discuss and I still have varicose veins.
Personally... my father and his sister both had varicose veins and had surgery. I am now older than they were and am finding I have some vein issues now. I believe genetics plays a role in this scenario too.
I am glad to be aware of things I can do to provide some relief...and treatment going forward.
I feel your pain but what's causing them is you're always carrying tons of heavyweight and walking and that puts a ton of stress on your legs and I understand this as a dancer who has taught in the schools teaching dance all day and on my feet all the time. I'm about 5 foot 6 and 120 pounds when wet. And a foot injury caused me to be very inactive over the past 2 years and now I suddenly have bad veins in one leg...
I also think there's a component about how well our hearts are working and getting the blood back. I've never spent any of my life putting my feet up and relaxing and now I'm paying for it. Now I'm laying on a bed or floor and putting my legs up against the wall 10 times a day. God I wish I learned how to rest earlier in life....
great information!! thank you
I really appreciate the information...some good stuff. I agree with the fasting. It has been working for me to keep my current weight stable.

Thank you for your videos. I have varicose veins with restless leg and neuropathy. I take plenty of vitamin C, Butchers Broom with a cayenne pepper capsule. It keeps me out of pain, works wonderfully. I wear compression socks most of the time. Birkenstocks work great for me.
Birkenstocks is what I can only wear.
Thanks for the information. I am glad that l came accross your channels
Thank you for this in informative video👍
Yes. Somebody finally saying the dr ordered compression socks can be problematic. If not used correctly can do a lot of damage, especially if the patient cannot adjust them properly. Actually cutting off circulation and even causing pressure sores.
.. and also increasing veins temperature, wich means more enlargement in diameter.
Thanks a Lot for the info❤

DR Thank you for sharing your intelligence about varicous veins. I learned ❤so much from you
I would just like to say sir, that your video was an excellent overview on vascular problems and treatments in the lower extremities. The information you patiently laid out is invaluable. No disrespect, but when I had meniscus issues, my orthopedic doctor openly said that his wife likes when he does surgery, implying that it was all about the money. He spoke of no other alternatives.

You are absolutely correct, the heavy socks are not very comfortable, have a pair several years old in my drawers where they belong! Thanks for good info.

I've been wearing the "Futuro" brand 20 to 30 pressure black compression knee high socks for 25 years. They are not nearly as hard to put on as the medical 30 to 40 pressure compression socks. I personally needed more help than the 15 to 20 pressure compression, which did absolutely nothing for me. The Futuro's are about $17 / pair but I have about 15 pair and wear them every day. Good luck in finding what works for you.
