@@jillpeacock4540 It's for any hair type but how u use it. With glycerine due to its thick and sticky u should use very little and in oils or water to moisturize ur hair. U can add it to conditioners and shampoos as well.
This video was helpful for my dry desert hair. I tried this and my hair been moisturized now for 3 days. Never have I went this long, normally its everyday moisture required. Thank you
I just started using glycerin and water and it’s a game changer for moisturizer. When I took out my 3 week old cornrows my hair was still so moisturized.
Thank u so much for this info- I am going to try your recipe with lavender, peppermint and also add aloe vera juice (I know it will have to stay refrigerated) so thank u so much for making the explanation easy to understand. Black girls rule, keep up the amazing work you do!
I have learnt that just because something never worked last Christmas, it doesn't mean you shouldn't try it again now. That was my relationship with glycerine. It worked in my 20s. But I wasn't consistent and I O think a lot of products contained it anyway. Then in my 30/40s it didn't work at all. Now at 55 I am a serial DIYer. And one of my concoctions uses glycerin to mix with the xanthan gum. So one day I had an accident and used WAY too much glycerin. And my hair looked and felt awesome. So I have added a significant amount more glycerin to my regimen. What I do to test my regimen is a shampoo, no conditioner and air dry. If my hair is soft and has a bit of a shine, is easy to detangle, then I am doing the right thing. (Tangles were never much of an issue for me aynyeay. ) And I AM doing the right thing . My hair was soft, my curl was as good as it gets and an amazing shine even without prepooing or conditioning. I dampened my hair afterward and conditioned purely because I believe in conditioning. My didn't look and feel as if I needed to though. So its glycerin for me for the foreseeable future, not just for my hair but for skin as well. Thanks so much for you awesomely content.
My skin was dry in December and when I remembered to incorporate vegetable glycerin with my other skincare products, my skin is glistening like it's summer time. So I'm hoping that happens with my hair too. But I'm going to use it during my deep condition.
@@awesomeaj9454 Thank you for sharing! I"ve heard that before. My science brain wants to know the science behind why it makes hair dry -- I definitely understand the frizz that can come from glycerin - but not the dryness! Thank you so much sharing!!! Off to do my research now!!
@@KarenofCurlHouse the glycerin can make the hair dry by pulling moisture out of the hair instead of the environment. I've experienced super soft frizzy hair and dry hair
Yes you can! You can certainly use with or UNDER curl definer. Now if you use it ONLY to two strand twist your hair with no styling cream, then you won't have much of a hold. But again, you can use it under any styling product when you want hold.
Hello there! Yes. You can certainly use glycerin with locs as well (if you have mature locs). Remember with locs 'less is more' as product can buildup easily with locs.
I do think it could help your hair. It is not easy though to get a good quality unrefined mustard oil or a mustard infusion that hasn't been infused in a cheap, refined cooking oil.
It depends on what type of locs and the maturity of your locks. New locs - no. For mature locs, very low concentrations -- similar to comment below -- too much may cause frizzing.
Hello there! Yes. You can use glycerin on MATURE locs. You don't want to hinder to locking process or cause any type of unraveling due to excess moisture in your hair.

Hello there. Benjamin is the name of the brand. Look at the back of the bottle on the ingredient list and see if it says vegetable glycerin. Glycerin is also derived from petroleum as well.
Hello there! Vegetable glycerin (mixed with water) is fine for mature locs, but not for maturing or baby locs. Too much can cause frizz and the hair to unravel. And should you use it, you don’t necessarily have to spray it everyday either. A light mist one or twice or week is sufficient.
What about using glycerin for your hair and the hair products also have other ingredients listed as well…for example the products lists water, PEG75 Shea Butter Glyceride, vegetable glycerine, Glycine Sonja (Soybean Oil), Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol Derived From Coconut Oil in this order?

Can I mix this with my carrier oil + essential oil for hair? If so what ratio should I use?
I would def mix with distilled or purified water (38% glycerin, 60% glycerin - that's the ratio I use), and add 2% oil.

The glycerine, when mixed with aloe water, does it still have to go into the fridge? And how does it last before it's no good anymore,?

Would you recommend using glycerin on locs?, you mentioned that you do not use it as much now that you are loc'd.
It's a hair softener, so I would imagine that putting it on locs could possibly cause it to be frizzy or even start to unravel the locs

Hi. Where does the glycerin fall on the label? Towards the front?
Is glycerine better for the scalp or hair?
I would say HAIR and scalp, but glycerin has to be properly diluted and mixed (in small concentrations) for the scalp becuase it can be very gooey
@KarenofCurlHouse ok thank you for the info!
Can you use this for your skin as well?
You can find glycerin in your lotions and bodycare as well.
Can people with high porosity hair use products containing glycerin?
ABSOLUTELY! But remember less is more -- so you need a lower concentration of glycerin. Will post a DIY tomorrow actually
