Has anyone noticed that the new Vitamix one looks a lot like the Vitamix Mark 20 shown in this demo? Maybe Vitamix should offer a version of the Vitamix one in chrome with a small chrome container as homage to the older Vitamix machine
there's pretty much a cult following for the older chrome machines produced 1950's-80's. 40 year old machines still sell for a couple hundred dollars because they are still running so well. there is so much demand for vintage replacement parts, a few after market parts businesses have been doing very well on ebay. This man would probably be horrified if he saw his machines being made with plastics now.
Vitamix was one of the best purchases ever. Congrats for 100 yr birthday! He does not look healthy and a product of his invention. And he is running it too long. So many fruits and veggies going in that are not compatible with each other. But it was a genius invention. So grateful! You would never add eggs and shells into a juice today. I would not. #GoVegantoday.

Hi there! We will absolutely pass this feedback along to the appropriate department as a suggestion. We are constantly adding new products, so please check back in the future for new developments! Additionally, as an alternative, we have also released a Stainless Steel container that is compatible for use with all full-size Vitamix blenders! This can be further viewed on our website here: spr.ly/6056P92tG.
@Carol Hamilton I don't because if that happens, the products would be made in China or who knows where in addition to the company cutting corners. The quality would go down the toilet hard.
You can find a cheap used one. Then if it breaks down, you can trade it in for a new one at Vitamix & they’ll give you $100 off. I couldn’t live without mine. It’s 11 years old, all original parts and still going strong!! This and the Kirby vacuum cleaner are the only two appliances I’ve owned that are true superhero’s!! I think it’s better to spend your money on a great appliance rather than going through five knockoffs in the same time period. I tried my sisters Ninja and the smoothies do not come out smooth!
@@seleneinparadise869 Agree. Buying 5 knock offs would cover the cost of a Vitamix. My SIL has a Ninja that she swears by but it doesn't do anything smoothly. And, the jar cracked then leaked when someone tried to blend hot soup in it. I wonder how many Ninja appliances are filling our landfills? :-/
I bought the older 5200 model with the tamper at a local flea market for $75, and it still worked!!! Unfortunately I had to once again sell my Vitamix due to personal concerns.
You can buy a stainless steel container separately now, but it will set you back almost $200. I believe it was in response to the anti-plastic movement. Apparently they can't use glass because it is prone to cracking given the power of the machine.
Why did Vitamix stop making glass containers? That would solve the issue of container damage from normal use (friction heat and abrasion) and from cleaning and sanitizing. Can they make glass containers for the new machines please? Stainless steel is great but I also like to see it but hate the idea of eating chemicals from the plastics. Glass also looks like new forever and resale value is higher as a result. The plastic containers need to be replaced over time but aren’t priced to be disposable. I just don’t understand why plastic is still being used when we know it’s unhealthy, bad for the environment, and less durable.
Hi Carolyn! We appreciate your interest in a glass container option. Vitamix has not made one since the early 50's. The Vitamix Research and Development team continuously researches alternate options for a non-plastic container. At this time, we have not found a suitable glass container design to meet the strict safety and performance requirements we place on our products. The machine is simply too powerful and the possibility of it breaking while blending is too great. Vitamix works to use the best materials available to produce a high quality blender that performs to customer expectations in a safe manner. Currently, we use Eastman Tritan for our containers, which is BPA-free. The Tritan material has been fully tested and deemed food safe by NSF.
@@VitamixCorporation If they made a glass container it would probably have to be something like gorilla glass or of that new transparent aluminum ceramic, the way the Vitamix moves things around it would probably shatter a standard glass container. I remember back in the days of the 3600 and 4000 the demonstrator here at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds would put a chunk broken off a brick into the machine and turn it into sand. You couldn't do that with a glass container.
